70: Apologize to mentor Jordan

21st year on the wizard's path, early January.

The next morning.

Greene arrived at Mentor Jordan's training ground.

This was the first time Greene had actively sought out Mentor Jordan in the years since he broke through to become an Intermediate Wizard Apprentice.

This was partly because Greene had been eagerly anticipating the Bio-armor, and partly because his emotional burden had been lifted.

Several years had passed.

The ant tragedy from back then had faded with time, and the knot in Greene's heart had gradually unraveled.

It was a good opportunity to use the Bio-armor as an excuse to mend his relationship with Mentor Jordan.

So.

Greene arrived with a bucket of fresh, warm, high-quality yellow wine, which he had spent quite a few magic stones to buy.

According to Adler.

Mentor Jordan enjoyed this particular drink in winter, reportedly because it reminded him of his hometown... Greene arrived just after 7 AM.

On the training ground, three apprentices were still practicing the Knight Breathing Technique, while Mentor Jordan stood by, teaching with a stern expression.

Seeing this, Greene immediately stopped and waited.

When Mentor Jordan saw Greene carrying a bucket of yellow wine, he was first stunned, then seemed to recall something, and a fleeting, almost imperceptible smile touched the corner of his lips before quickly vanishing.

Mentor Jordan paid no mind to Greene and continued his teaching.

Half an hour later.

Morning training concluded... Mentor Jordan directly asked:

"Greene..."

"You're a busy man, what are you doing here so early? I don't have anything left to teach you now."

"Mentor, can't I come to see you even if there's nothing wrong?"

"Didn't I hear that you enjoy this yellow wine from your hometown?"

"I got up extra early to get it for you from the wine shop."

"It's excellent yellow wine, still warm."

"I thought you might be tired from teaching your students, so I brought this to soothe your throat and help you relax..."

Greene said with a sincere smile, expressing his heartfelt words... Seeing this, Mentor Jordan knew Greene wasn't one to visit without a reason, so he was happy to watch his performance.

Mentor Jordan strode directly to his exclusive seat, waiting for Greene in the hall.

Greene quickly picked up the wine bucket and a heavy wooden box—this was the snack he had prepared for Mentor Jordan to go with the wine.

"Mentor, come see what your student brought you?"

"It's all delicious!"

"In this cold winter, with this warm yellow wine and these side dishes, won't it be wonderful?"

"Mentor Jordan, how about we have a drink together?"

Greene looked at Mentor Jordan with an inquiring gaze, seeking his opinion.

"Since you've put it that way, how could I refuse?"

"If I refused, wouldn't it make me seem ungracious, hmm?"

"Set everything out."

Mentor Jordan's words were laced with sarcasm, clearly indicating some lingering resentment.

Greene knew this was his own doing and dared not say more, pretending not to hear.

Greene only hoped that this bucket of yellow wine today would help alleviate some of Mentor Jordan's resentment... A large plate of Angus pan-fried steak;

A large plate of spicy braised pig trotters;

A plate of braised beef;

A plate of cold-dressed pig's head meat;

A plate of cold-sliced braised beef;

A plate of clear stewed ribs;

A serving of Witch Fruit scrambled eggs; (similar to tomato scrambled eggs)

A serving of garlic sprouts stir-fried with cured pork;

Six garlic-butter beef knuckle bones;

A large plate of pork and vegetable dumplings;

A large plate of deep-fried peanuts... Accompanied by a large bucket of warm yellow wine.

Good wine, even better side dishes... Greene filled a large cup of yellow wine for Mentor Jordan and poured one for himself.

"Mentor Jordan, I'll toast you first."

"It was my thoughtlessness, taking so long to come and see you."

"I'll drink this first as a sign of respect, please."

Greene tilted his head back and gulped down 1L of yellow wine in one go.

When Greene finished his drink and was about to have another.

Mentor Jordan stopped Greene, scolding him with a smile:

"Did you buy this wine for me to drink, or for yourself?"

"Also, yellow wine isn't beer; you don't chug it like that. You're really wasting good stuff."

"This warm yellow wine, you have to savor it."

"The colder the weather, the more refreshing it is to drink this warm yellow wine, understand?"

"Mentor is right, I was rash, only knowing how to chug and boast. I still need Mentor to teach me properly."

Greene said with a smile.

"You, well..."

"Sit down and have a good drink with me."

"The dishes you've prepared today look quite substantial, and the variety is fresh. It's clear you put thought into it."

Mentor Jordan didn't hold onto his grievance; he was broad-minded. As a teacher, he couldn't be too petty. Having taught for twenty years, he had seen all kinds of students.

Seeing Greene's sincerity, Mentor Jordan chose to let the matter go... "Mentor, try these spicy braised pig trotters..."

"These are all side dishes I came up with that are suitable for drinking."

"Mentor, please try a few and see if they suit your taste."

Greene was not in a hurry. He first accompanied Mentor Jordan in eating and drinking, making sure Mentor Jordan's anger subsided and he became happy. It wouldn't be too late to discuss important matters once the wine had warmed them and they were feeling mellow.

"Hmm..."

"Not bad, not bad..."

Mentor Jordan tasted these delicacies from the Aqua Blue Star for the first time and found them quite novel. The taste was excellent, and he quickly adapted after a couple of bites.

"Greene, the preparation methods for these dishes are very unique."

"I've never seen them in the academy before. Where did you find such a chef? Introduce him to me; I'll visit him another day."

"Mentor Jordan, all these delicious dishes were my ideas."

Greene unhesitatingly took the credit, as the ideas had indeed originated from his mind.

This statement — no problem!

... "These novel dishes are the result of my painstaking thought."

"It's also because I got tired of all the various meals in the free dining area on the first floor of the Wizard Tower."

"Every day it was either fried, roasted, or deep-fried; I was practically sick of it."

"So..."

"I specifically came up with all sorts of ideas and had the chefs help me put them into practice, trying different ways to prepare ingredients."

"This way, several different flavors of delicacies were created."

Greene said proudly. He was very proud of being able to bring so many hometown delicacies to the Wizard World.

"Alright, I praise you a little, and you get carried away."

"Don't tell me you've spent all your energy on food these past few years."

"What about the Path of the Knight and the wizard's path? These are the right paths; don't waste your talent."

Mentor Jordan said exasperatedly. This Greene just couldn't handle praise. It seemed that in the future, educating Greene would have to be primarily through criticism... Greene, completely unaware that he had just created more trouble for himself, still replied with a chuckle:

"Mentor Jordan, please rest assured."

"Don't you know what kind of person I, Greene, am?"

"Eating well is for the sake of cultivation, isn't it? I would never put the cart before the horse."

"These past few years, my adaptation to the physical changes from my first bloodline awakening has concluded."

"I have also reached the peak Grand Knight level of a Bloodline Knight."

"However, my bloodline ability is not for enhancing combat power. It's still more auxiliary in nature. The effect of my first bloodline awakening continued my previous bloodline's function — increasing the excitement and activity of Spiritual Power."

"I've tested it, Mentor."

"Using my bloodline ability passively, that is, after eating my fill, there will be an hour of mental excitement. This level of mental excitement is similar to drinking a tube of intermediate potion — an Intermediate Mental Clarity Potion. After the excitement period, I will fall into a three-hour period of mental sluggishness."

"If I actively use my bloodline ability, I can quickly digest the food I've overeaten, causing a greater degree of mental excitement. This is equivalent to drinking a tube of Advanced Mental Clarity Potion. Currently, the extreme limit is to use it once every five days, which will not cause damage to my mind or body."

... "Greene..."

Mentor Jordan swallowed the braised beef in his mouth, took another sip of yellow wine, and slowly said:

"Your bloodline ability greatly assists you in cultivating the orthodox Elemental Wizard path and can also save you a large amount of magic stones spent on clarity potions."

"So..."

"You must always maintain a clear mind, do not overuse your bloodline ability, and do not become dependent on it, understand?"

"Your path is still very long; do not frequently use your bloodline ability because of small difficulties in front of you."

"Mentor..."

Greene was somewhat moved:

"The first lesson you taught me, your student has never forgotten."

"And dare not forget!"

"Your student has always kept it in mind."

"Behind every gift of destiny, a price is marked."

... "Good... good... good..."

"It's good that you haven't forgotten..."

Mentor Jordan murmured... At that moment, his figure was filled with loneliness, as if immersed in certain past events...
