212: Lure the snake out of its hole (5)

"Tsk tsk..."

"What a ruthless person..."

"Admirable, truly admirable..."

Green's face twitched violently, and he was momentarily speechless. This veteran who had been mingling with Black Wizards for a century was not only ruthless to himself—preferring to be shattered jade rather than intact tile—but upon knowing he was going to die, he immediately sacrificed himself to an evil god, leaving nothing behind.

However, Green guessed that there must be a convoluted story behind this. An ordinary wizard wouldn't do something like this; it was likely that this veteran was trapped in a quagmire, unable to help himself.

He was also ruthless to his teammates. Watching the three Black Robe Wizards whose auras had instantly withered after suffering the backlash of destiny, Green really wanted to give this veteran from the Blood Fortress a thumbs up.

...

"Ahhh..."

"You dead bat, fuck your grandfather! You're dragging me down with you even in death? What about our friendship of several hundred years?"

"Has it all been fed to the dogs?"

"And you put a curse on me? Dammit, I'm your teammate! Why are you targeting me? I can barely save myself, how am I supposed to save you?"

"Dead bat, stinking bat, brain-damaged stupid bat! Don't you know I hate curses the most?"

Trapped inside the Thorn Cage, the Black Robe Wizard Laselle, feeling the tearing pain in his soul and the massive loss of destiny in his mind, couldn't help but curse out loud.

The four-person squad had signed a relatively strict—a destiny oath of sticking together through thick and thin, along with a written contract. Now, one person had voluntarily used his own life as the price to accuse the three of them of breach of contract—refusing to save him.

Both oaths took effect in an instant, giving the remaining three Formal Wizards the maximum penalty. Although it wasn't a death sentence, they suffered heavy losses.

The two Black Robe Wizards who were still preparing to cast a joint spell communicated secretly using their Spiritual Power.

"Big brother, what do we do? Should we keep fighting?"

"We finally almost finished our ultimate secret spell, but now we've been affected by the oath backlash. It'll take another 2 minutes to regroup."

"Second brother, at this point, we have to fight whether we want to or not. We've suffered such heavy losses; if we don't take down the Plant Heart Academy, how can we make up for it?"

"Screw it, send the signal. Call the third and fourth brothers over to reinforce us. Today, we're going to fight him to the end..."

"Big brother, that won't work, right? The third and fourth brothers have their own mission. They are waiting outside the Plant Heart Academy, just waiting for the remaining female Formal Wizard guarding the Plant Heart Academy to come out and rescue Wizard Green, so that the third and fourth brothers can take the Wizard Tower of the Plant Heart Academy in one go."

"If they come over too, how are we going to take down the Wizard Tower of the Plant Heart Academy?"

...

"Fuck, what time is it now?"

"We can't worry about that much anymore. This Wizard Green was prepared from the beginning, bringing his Bio-Steel Battle Suit. Do you think the Plant Heart Academy wouldn't be prepared?"

"Second brother, based on my calculations, our operation this time was very likely leaked in advance, which is why the Plant Heart Academy was prepared. Sigh, if a plan is not kept secret, it is doomed to fail."

"Big brother, I told you long ago. The four of us brothers have the same background and common pursuits. Being sworn brothers makes us the best partners. For such high-risk matters, it should have just been us four brothers doing it. Why drag in two unrelated outsiders?"

"Now look at this. It must have been them who leaked the secret. The big bat is already dead, so it must be this Laselle. Dammit, that traitorous bastard. If he doesn't die this time, our brothers will kill him later..."

"Forget it, hindsight is 20/20. This time it was my fault..."

"I'm calling the third and fourth brothers over because our operation this time is very likely to fail. As long as Wizard Green doesn't die, it will be very difficult to take over the Plant Heart Academy. But this Wizard Green must die. Even if we can't kill him, we must destroy his Bio-Steel Battle Suit so he no longer has the capital to be arrogant..."

"Right, we should destroy his Bio-Steel Battle Suit. Dammit, with such a powerful piece of equipment in his hands, who else in the entire Mist Coast is his match? If we don't cripple him, in the future, our entire Seven Towers Alliance will have to listen to him..."

"He's just a wet-behind-the-ears brat who relies on his teacher's prestige to bully others, yet he wants to ride on our heads..."

"Pah..."

"Shhh shhh shhh..."

Two different types of magic power rubbed against each other, emitting intense hissing sounds; this was the energy of different spells clashing frantically.

Wizard Green, like an unstoppable battle mech, immediately continued without pause to hack and slash at the Black Robe Wizard Laselle inside the Thorn Cage after finishing off the Blood-colored Bat.

He was also muttering to himself.

"Abominable Black Wizards, I'll hack you to death."

"Unforgivable Black Wizards, I'm going to chop you into eight pieces, ten pieces, a hundred pieces..."

The Black Robe Wizard Laselle inside the Thorn Cage no longer had his initial arrogance and confidence and was dodging around in a sorry state. But the space was only so big; how could he dodge Green's Shadowless Soul-Chasing Sword?

As the Demon Breaking Greatsword hacked down blow after blow, one defensive equipment after another was shattered, and one contingency after another was triggered. Wizard Laselle, in his desperation, could only continuously charge up his greatest trump card.

It was a scarlet, broken ring. This was a powerful Wizard Artifact he had found in an Ancient Secret Realm. He didn't know its exact grade, but it was certainly higher than Tier 1.

However, after the baptism of long years, this once extraordinary defensive equipment had become dilapidated, with only a small amount of energy remaining.

However, Wizard Laselle had used the broken defensive ring several times before, which had helped him avoid several fatal crises. Laselle believed this was his lucky ring, and this time it would surely help him escape disaster again.

Laselle's face grew paler and paler, because this broken defensive ring did not accept any other form of charging; it only accepted life force at the level of a Formal Wizard, and it had to be life force containing vital blood. This was life-draining! Having used it a few times before, it had already cost Wizard Laselle more than thirty years of his life.

Very quickly, all his defensive preparations were shattered by Wizard Green, leaving only the defensive light screen of this final broken defensive ring protecting his life.

Wizard Laselle watched the armored figure coldly thrust out hundreds of swords in a second, each sword striking the defensive light screen, causing it to vibrate violently. Suddenly, Wizard Laselle's heart and liver were trembling along with it:

"Stop fighting, I surrender!"

"Wizard Green, I surrender. I'm not a Black Wizard; I was forced into this."

"I'm also a White Wizard. White Wizards don't fight White Wizards."
