104: He's not coming back.
Si Nan, who had been walking past, suddenly looked at the Armored Vehicle and exclaimed, “Oh no, that's our Armored Vehicle! Chase it!”
“Sister, let's go!” Luo Sen reacted instantly, wrapping his long arm around Si Nan's waist and sweeping her over the tops of the parked cars along the road, speeding toward their Armored Vehicle.
The car thief in front cried out, “Ah, hurry! They're catching up.”
“Damn it, is that man even human?”
“Ah, they caught us.”
“Bang!” Luo Sen landed on the hood of the car thief's vehicle, raised the military shovel in his hand, and smashed the glass with a powerful “bang,” sending shards flying everywhere.
Luo Sen grabbed the driver's neck, “You've got guts to steal our car. Die!”
With a “crack,” he twisted the man's neck, breaking it. The remaining three shrank back under the seats in terror, crying, “H-h-he's not human!”
Luo Sen severely wounded the three men in just a few moves, dragged the dying trio out of the car, and tossed them into the zombie horde, instantly triggering horrific screams.
Si Nan had already taken control, stopping the Armored Vehicle and getting out.
Luo Sen cut the steel cables connecting the Armored Vehicle, freeing it. He angrily looked up at the survivors on the building, his eyes filled with murderous intent.
Si Nan comforted him, “Don't mind those people. Searching for supplies is what matters.”
She and Luo Sen were fully geared up, both wearing anti-riot safety helmets, ensuring no one could recognize them as long as they kept them on.
The Armored Vehicle continued its journey, searching for supplies all the way to Yunshu Mountain Villa using the 'Qiankun Great Shift' method. They had gathered quite a few supplies, but nothing was as stunning to Si Nan as the Yunshu Mountain Villa right before her eyes. “Wow, what a massive Villa estate! The greenery inside must be fantastic.”
Si Nan looked at Yunshu Mountain Villa with sparkling eyes.
Luo Sen pointed at Yunshu Mountain Villa, “If Sister likes it, then Sen Sen will seize it and give it to Sister.”
After saying that, he jumped up.
“Don't move! There are definitely deadly traps inside. It's dangerous.” Si Nan quickly grabbed Luo Sen's arm, preventing him from jumping in.
She chose a hidden spot, took out a drone, and launched it to observe the entire estate from a distance above Yunshu Mountain Villa. Her caution was warranted; the entire estate was vast, combining accommodation, recreation, dining, etc., and included its own golf course, outdoor swimming pool, racetrack, equestrian field, and children's playground—everything imaginable. Even the flowers and trees planted inside were famous.
Quite a few people were moving around inside, but most were servants hired before the virus outbreak, tending to the plants and shoveling snow. She hadn't seen any prominent figures yet.
In fact, dealing with the people inside would be simple—just letting Luo Sen release one or two zombies would be enough. But Si Nan didn't want the zombies' black blood to contaminate this pure estate.
Just as she was feeling emotional, a man suddenly walked out of the house, embracing two Beauties, and shouted down to the snow shovelers, “Did this Young Master not give you food? You still haven't finished shoveling that bit of snow! Do you believe this Young Master will throw every single one of you out to feed the zombies?”
“Second Young Master, please spare us! We've been shoveling for three hours. Please let us rest for a bit?”
“Please, Second Young Master, let us rest and grant us a bowl of water to drink.”
“We beg you, Second Young Master.”
Several servants knelt in the slush, pleading with the man. But upon seeing these low-status servants not only fail to continue working hard but also dare to ask for water, the man immediately grew furious.
He kissed the Beauty in his right arm and walked up to the leading servant, “You're the one who wants to rest, are you?”
The thinly dressed servant nodded and showed his hands to the man, “Yes, Second Young Master, look. My hands are covered in blood blisters, and I'm thirsty and hungry. We only get one meal a day—a bowl of thin gruel—we can't endure continuous labor.”
“Can't endure it? Very well. Guards, drag him outside and let's see if he can endure facing the zombie horde.” The man stepped back and called two bodyguards.
The servant refused, “Second Young Master, we were hired by the Young Master. He will be back soon.”
“Wait a minute, you contacted the Eldest Brother? He said he can come back?” Huangfu Qianfeng waved his hand, dismissing the bodyguards.
The servant nodded repeatedly, “Yes, yesterday I heard Steward Zhou say the Young Master was coming back.”
Huangfu Qianfeng narrowed his eyes sharply, a murderous intent flashing through them: “How could that be?!”
He had deliberately diverted the last helicopter to search for supplies precisely to prevent it from contacting the Eldest Brother and bringing him back. Who had betrayed him?
Could it be Steward Zhou?
Didn't that Old Man always dislike the Eldest Brother for being idle? He had finally managed to use the zombies to get rid of the biased Old Man and the Third Brother. All the Huangfu Family assets belonged to him, and he absolutely couldn't let the Eldest Brother return alive.”
Thinking this, he instructed one of the bodyguards, “Go fetch Steward Zhou.”
“Yes.”
After that bodyguard left, Huangfu Qianfeng pretended to be heartbroken while trying to brainwash the crowd, “It is a tragedy for my Huangfu Family. The Old Man and Third Brother have both turned from living people into beast-like zombies, and Eldest Brother has also been out of contact for many days.
Now that I suddenly hear the news that Eldest Brother is returning, I am happy. At least this way, in the face of this terrifying virus, my Huangfu Family can still have a trustworthy blood brother.
Alas, I'm afraid Eldest Brother won't make it back. Can you even count how many zombies are outside? Therefore, I am the current Patriarch of the Huangfu Family, and you must obey me!”
A thousand words later, the last sentence was the crucial point.
“Yes, Patriarch.” At this point, it didn't matter who the Patriarch was; they couldn't turn from servants into masters, so many people simply agreed.
Soon, Steward Zhou was brought over, “Second Young Master, you asked for me?”
Huangfu Qianfeng told the other servants to continue working, leaving the servant and the steward alone to confront them, “He said the Eldest Brother is coming back? Are you sure?”
“I'm sure. The Young Master personally sent me a wechat message. Second Young Master, please look. I just don't know if something went wrong, as the Young Master still hasn't returned.”
Steward Zhou opened wechat to show Huangfu Qianfeng, his graying eyebrows tightly furrowed.
Huangfu Qianfeng looked at the time stamp and immediately cheered up, “Steward Zhou, I'm not cursing my Eldest Brother, but he won't be coming back. Nearly a day has passed since the departure time he mentioned, and there's no sign of him.
Everyone, go back to work. From now on, I am your Patriarch.”
“Yes, Second Young Master.” Steward Zhou answered and left.
Huangfu Qianfeng was displeased, “Call me Patriarch.”
“Yes, Patriarch.” Steward Zhou, who had been turning away, quickly turned back again. After leaving, he immediately tried to call Huangfu Qiankun, but the call wouldn't go through.
Steward Zhou looked up at the sky in despair, “Young Master, the world has changed, and the Zhou Family has changed too. Are you truly—not coming back? You haven't even lived in the Cloud Villa you personally built for a day—please come back quickly! The Second Young Master is very cruel.”
“He won't be coming back.” Si Nan stared at the monitoring screen and curled her lips in satisfaction. So, only this even more contemptible fellow was left in the Huangfu Family.
