177: Du's Bloody Paradise

Two hours later, the helicopter landed within the Residential Area. Gu Jie and the others, thinking either that rescuers had arrived or that the newcomers were hostile, grabbed their gear and rushed over with five of their brothers.

Upon seeing Si Nan descend, the expressions on the six men's faces were as if they'd swallowed a fly. "Sister Nan? Brother Sen? We thought the enemy had arrived, hahaha~"

One of the bodyguards said while laughing loudly.

Si Nan opened the cabin door. "Move all your food out, guard the Residential Area well. We're going out to do something big."

Gu Jie's sharp eyes caught the scrape on the back of Si Nan's hand, and he instantly guessed, "Someone tried to seize Yunshu Mountain Villa?"

Si Nan wasn't surprised Gu Jie could guess this and nodded. "Yeah. We were attacked by two successive groups using Rocket Launchers. We almost didn't make it back. I won't be at peace until I've dealt with them. How is the Residential Area doing now?"

As she spoke, her eyes swept over the surroundings, looking quite satisfied.

Gu Jie immediately reported, "Half of the white snow and the corpses underneath have been cleared. We'll definitely have it finished by the time you return."

"Good work. You've all worked hard these past two days. I know you're all long-time smokers; luckily for you, you're in for a treat."

Si Nan handed two cartons of cigarettes to Gu Jie.

"That's great!" The eyes of Gu Jie and the other five instantly lit up with excitement. In this kind of environment, living without spiritual sustenance made every day feel like a year; it was too hard to endure.

Moreover, she had given them two cartons at once. The six men cheered in unison.

"Thank you, Sister Nan."

"Mhm, but those aren't just for you six. Keep a good watch on our home. We're leaving."

The five men held the items in their arms, their hearts filled with incomparable excitement. Following Sister Nan indeed meant there would be meat to eat.

Soon, the helicopter took off again. The six men looked up at the helicopter, their hearts filled with utter admiration for Si Nan. "Sister Nan is too amazing. She can even get her hands on a rare thing like a helicopter. Will she get a rocket in the future?"

"Hahaha, if there really is a rocket, I bet Sister Nan could actually get it."

"You kid are just speaking the plain truth. In short, Sister Nan is just incredible. She's my eternal goddess."

“Oh ho, why does that sound so sour? Could it be that you've fallen in love with Sister Nan?”

“You kid dare to say you don't like Sister Nan? She's beautiful, capable, and has a great figure. Any man would like a girl like that. If anyone doesn't like her, then he isn't a man—”

Gu Jie walked behind his five brothers, listening to their excited banter in silence.

Indeed, who wouldn't like a girl like that? Unfortunately, none of them had a chance, and none of them were qualified. Luo Sen was probably the most well-matched man for her in this world.

He looked up. Spring was coming, and the weather was getting better. They needed to speed up the cleaning of the Residential Area. Once the weather got warmer, they could plant crops. He hoped to return to a life of three meals a day as soon as possible.

On the helicopter, Si Nan looked down at the earth. Aside from the vast expanse of white snow, all that remained were countless zombies scattered across the snow. Over a month of evolution had made them much faster, and they had even learned to cooperate in groups.

Below, they were already at the outskirts of the nearby B City. Several people were being chased by a pack of zombies. The two people running at the very back were tackled to the ground, becoming food for the zombies.

The person running at the front heard the screams behind them but didn't look back. There was also a youth running with a little girl on his back. Even across a distance of a thousand meters between heaven and earth, Si Nan could hear the cries of that youth and the little girl.

It turned out that those being torn apart behind them were their parents. The group of seven or eight people rapidly dwindled. In less than a few minutes, only the youth at the front and a woman remained.

Half of the zombies chasing them, having failed to snatch any food, became even more frenzied in their pursuit of the remaining three, their speed increasing further.

"Roar, roar, roar—"

Amidst a series of urgent roars, three zombies used a large tree to leap toward the youth in front. Just as it looked like the three were about to die, gunshots suddenly rang out from the level ground.

On the helicopter, the cabin doors on both sides opened. Si Nan and Luo Sen each took a side, holding machine guns to gun down all the zombies behind the youth and his companions. She still couldn't bear to watch, simply because of that youth and the little girl on his back.

Once, she too had been alone after her parents died, facing the entire world by herself. Ignorant of the world, her heart had been in a state of chaos, and every time she opened or closed her eyes, there was only fear. She would consider this as helping her past self.

Below, the youth and the woman bowed gratefully toward the helicopter and then continued running forward.

By this time, Si Nan and the others had crossed the suburbs and reached the city center. B City was a second-tier city, but its area was not at all inferior to A City. Guided by GPS, the helicopter landed precisely on the roof of the headquarters of the B City's wealthiest entity, the Du Group.

From the captured Mercenary's phone, they learned that when the Apocalypse arrived, the head of the Du family, that old geezer Du Sanbiao, hadn't had time to retreat to his luxury villa and was instead cut off inside the Du Group building.

The Du Group was a conglomerate involved in meat processing. Due to the nature of the industry, the Du Group had an almost closed production chain, which provided Du Sanbiao and all the employees working that day a chance to survive.

The group headquarters was still safe even now, without a single zombie inside. The food they produced themselves had become an inexhaustible supply for these people.

These people watched the roaring zombies every day, enjoying the sight of living humans being hunted. The sudden change in the environment, the suffering from losing loved ones, and the confinement of being shut in had long since stimulated and twisted their psyches and values.

The current Du Group was like a paradise devoid of humanity, where erotic scenes occurred regardless of day or night. Former relationships between superiors and subordinates, colleagues, respect, civilization, and moral boundaries had all ceased to exist.

The men, led by the person in power Du Sanbiao, controlled all the food and water in the group, doing whatever they pleased with his pack of bodyguards. This Du Sanbiao was himself a butcher, a crude nouveau riche who started by raising and slaughtering pigs. He was usually very lecherous, a well-known old wolf in the industry.

Furthermore, since his company was in meat processing, there weren't many female employees outside of the logistics department, and the beautiful ones were mostly in the Sales Department.

On the night the virus broke out, this old wolf didn't think of ways to save his family first but instead sealed off the entire group.

He divided the eighteen floors of the group into various zones according to rank. The two basement levels were for the cleaners to eat and live; aside from coming up at designated times to clean, they were not allowed up at any other time.

Floors one through ten were production and processing areas and were uninhabitable. The eleventh floor was given to ordinary employees, whose daily task was to manually process food and handle meat that hadn't been processed before the outbreak. Anyone who dared to steal or hide food would be thrown out the window to feed the zombies. These people were only allocated one meal and one paper cup of water per day.

The twelfth floor housed the ordinary managers who supervised the eleventh floor, who were also the original company's supervisor-level staff. They could receive two meals and one cup of water a day.

The thirteenth floor was the harem floor—
