3: I want to make a pot of deadly poison and kill you!

“Ahem, Miss Si, you’ve really asked the right person. I know an incredibly powerful renovation company, but the price is astronomical. The working capital you just redeemed will likely be cut in half.”

“---”

Si Nan pretended to be shocked, her small mouth hanging open slightly. “My god, that really is a diamond price. It's okay, I'll look into it first. Thank you.”

When she came out, she already had the business card in hand. Without a second thought, she pulled out her ancient phone to dial the number. After finishing the call, she found the old phone more and more unpleasant to look at.

It was the end of the world; why was she being so stingy with herself? Buy! Once the villa renovation was settled, she would buy everything she usually couldn't bear to spend money on!

First was a phone. She wouldn't worry about the money; she'd buy two—one for herself and one to throw at someone!

She remembered that after the Zombies arrived, water, electricity, and natural gas functioned normally at first. Later, because everyone turned into Zombies and no one was working, the services slowly cut off.

However, The Authorities' signal was always there. As long as one had a satellite phone, messages could be received normally to keep up with current events.

She guessed that phones would be very important later on. There were still her parents' two old phones at home, which plus her own should be enough for backups. If not, she'd buy a few more satellite phones; in a pinch, they could even be used as bricks.

While she was thinking, the taxi arrived at the foot of the renovation company's building. Looking up, she could barely see the top of the skyscraper: “So tall!”

As soon as Si Nan reached the main entrance, a young, handsome staff member came up to receive her. No joke, anyone who could come to their company was either rich or noble, so they had to be treated well.

“Miss Si, this way please. Have some fresh-ground coffee and some fruit first; our manager will be here shortly.” The handsome waiter provided perfect service, and his face was quite pleasing to the eye.

“Alright, please have the manager come quickly; I have other matters to attend to.” Si Nan took a sip of the coffee; the taste was top-notch. Damn it, if she didn’t empty out the coffee section of the Century Department Store warehouse, she wouldn’t be human!

Si Nan was determined. In this life, she would not only live well but also with quality; otherwise, those long, boring days would lead to depression.

“Clang, clang—” Her phone suddenly rang explosively, giving Si Nan such a start that she nearly dropped her coffee cup.

The handsome waiter nearby gave her and her ancient phone a strange look before politely stepping back a good distance.

Si Nan looked and saw it was the scum calling. She didn't answer, staring at the name on the screen with murderous intent. Soon, the scum hung up, but then he called again.

She found it annoying; if she didn't answer, he would likely keep calling, making it impossible to discuss business. As soon as she pressed the answer key, a barrage of questions came from the other end: “Where are you? Why haven't you made lunch?”

I f***ing want to make a pot of poison and kill you!

Si Nan was full of murderous intent, but now was not the time for revenge. she replied coldly, “The note I left was very clear. Since you care so much about Li Na, let her cook for you. We’re broken up!”

“Break up? What’s gotten into you all of a sudden? Li Na is the General Manager’s daughter; is it wrong for me to be polite? Hurry back and cook. I’m going to take a nap; wake me up when the food is ready.” Gao Ming sounded very displeased on the other end.

Si Nan knew Gao Ming had surely been scolded by his boss again today, but what did that have to do with her? She gave Gao Ming a piece of her mind: “I’m not serving you!”

Then she immediately blacklisted Gao Ming.

“What? Abandoned?” A cold, mocking voice suddenly sounded from above her. The sound of that voice shocked Si Nan, making her eyes turn red instantly.

In the apocalypse, the only person who had been good to her, who had gone through countless hardships to escort her from her rental house back to the villa, and who finally died in the jaws of Zombies for her—Luo Sen!

She looked up to see two long legs, a fashionable casual outfit, and a handsome tanned face. However, the look in his eyes was too cold, devoid of any warmth.

She knew Luo Sen had always been cold; she had known that since the first time they met when they were very young. He was the son of her father's good friend, and the two families would organize outings together during holidays.

After her parents passed away, Uncle Luo had also come to see her a few times, wanting to take her into his home. But at that time, she was completely heartbroken and had refused Uncle Luo to return to the countryside with her grandmother.

In the ten years that followed, she returned to this city alone after seeing off her grandmother, until she met Gao Ming. She had never seen Luo Sen or Uncle Luo again until the previous life when the zombie outbreak suddenly occurred and he appeared out of nowhere.

The zombie outbreak hadn't happened yet, so how could he recognize her instantly after ten years? He even knew she had a Boyfriend; could he have been watching her all along?

None of that mattered now. What mattered was that in this life, she could not stand by and watch Luo Sen be eaten alive by Zombies.

Si Nan stood up, excitedly grabbed Luo Sen's arm, pulled him aside, and whispered, “Whether you believe it or not, you must do as I say. Go back quickly and tell your parents that the apocalypse is coming. As fast as possible and without drawing attention, stock up on as many supplies as you can—food, water, medicine, whatever you can store, the more the better.”

“Second, go back and turn your house into the most secure Safe house possible. Build the courtyard walls very high, so high that neither people nor beasts can climb in.”

“Third, go buy weapons—anything that can kill people or beasts. The more, the better.”

“Also, this winter will be exceptionally cold. Stock up on thick clothes. Do not worry about the money; spend it all. If it's not enough, take out a mortgage on the house, because by next month, money will be nothing more than scrap paper. Do you understand?”

Luo Sen stared at the pale, slightly chubby hand gripping his arm, listening quietly to Si Nan's frantic words. When she finished, he reached out a finger to test the temperature of her forehead. “You have a fever. The infection from your hand wound must be spreading. I’m taking you to the hospital.”

In turn, Luo Sen gripped Si Nan's arm and led her toward the sightseeing elevator.

Si Nan resisted with all her might. “Luo Sen, I’m not going. I’m here to discuss renovating my house.”

“I’ll arrange for a top-tier team to renovate your house. Hospital first.” Luo Sen remained unmoved until he had stuffed Si Nan into the passenger seat, locked the doors, and sped away.

Si Nan looked at the passing scenery and smiled bitterly. “You must think I’m crazy, but I’m not; I’m clearer than I’ve ever been. Luo Sen, trust me. In one month, Zombies will suddenly break out globally, and humanity will have nowhere to run. I don’t want anything to happen to you or your parents.”

“Screech—” Luo Sen suddenly pulled the car over to the side of the road and looked at Si Nan indifferently. “What did you say?”

Si Nan was very calm. “You heard what I said. Whether you do it or not is up to you. I know this sounds incredible, and no one will believe it—they’ll think I’m crazy or a lunatic—but it will happen in a month.”

“Luo Sen, don't ask anything. Just let me out. I need to go home and prepare everything one by one.”

“To the hospital.” Luo Sen didn't respond, stubbornly starting the car again.
