147: Black eats black
After seeing the Armored Vehicle, that group of people immediately abandoned the fuel in their hands. All their muzzles were pointed at Si Nan and Luo Sen. "If you know what's good for you, leave the Armored Vehicle and get lost. Otherwise, we'll turn you into sieves."
"Hmm, good idea." Luo Sen suddenly flew out from the roof of the Armored Vehicle. A powerful Supernatural Ability spread out, domineeringly suppressing everyone in front of him, scaring the surrounding zombies into turning tail and running.
"Oh no, what's going on? Why are the zombies running away? Ah, I can't move my body."
"Aaaagh! Why can't I control my body? I'm about to kneel down."
"Ah, my knees—it hurts so much!"
Screams of agony erupted from the group opposite them as their knees slammed heavily onto the ground. The sound of bones shattering was incredibly crisp. Even sitting inside the Armored Vehicle behind thick bulletproof glass, Si Nan could hear it clearly.
However, what terrified these people even more was that although the guns were clearly gripped in their hands, they suddenly broke free from their palms and flew toward the man in front of them of their own accord. This was too surreal!
How could such a thing happen in reality—but it was happening, and right before all their eyes!
"Aaaah! Are you human or a ghost? Don't come any closer!"
"A devil, he's a devil."
"Big brother, big brother, please don't kill me! You can take all the diesel and gasoline here. We'll give you all the fuel and food on our trucks too. Please, just let me go?"
Luo Sen stood a meter away from the leader. The man was no longer arrogant; the pain from his shattered knees made him look like a three-year-old child, with snot and tears streaming down his face. It was disgusting.
"You're disgusting." Luo Sen stepped back in disgust, his grayish-blue eyes scanning everyone kneeling before him. This group had dark, rough skin and a thuggish air about them; one look and it was clear they were from the underworld.
Every city has its dark corners. These people were the ones who committed those shady deeds—venomous snakes slithering in the darkness. By coming out to 'operate' every now and then, they could earn several times more than what ordinary people could.
Many innocent people had sacrificed because of them, their families torn apart and homes destroyed. They were a cancer. When the virus broke out and their business vanished, they became cannon fodder and walking supplies in the hands of figures even more powerful than these rats.
Naturally, these desperate outlaws weren't content to be someone else's blade, risking their lives every day to scavenge supplies for those powerful figures. Seeing others' comfort certainly made them unhappy.
However, even the scummiest people have families. Working so hard surely meant their families or some other weakness was being held by someone else.
This was evident from the machine guns floating in front of him. They were all heavy military-grade firearms; just one could wipe out a whole room of people. They could have easily used them to eliminate those threatening them.
But they didn't!
Besides, scum like them couldn't have gotten their hands on so much heavy military-grade live ammunition. The surrounding ground was freshly pitted, having just been blasted by bombs. This group must have used bombs to clear the way when they first arrived at this gas station.
"Sir? Please spare us?" The leader was still begging for mercy.
"Hmph." Luo Sen snorted coldly and ignored him. His icy gaze swept toward the large trucks the man mentioned. There were two in total, both modified and covered with tarps. He had thought they were parked here all along, but it turned out this group had driven them here.
"Hahaha, let me take a look." How could Si Nan miss out on good things? She had already run past Luo Sen, flying toward the two large trucks like a happy little bird.
"Slow down. Be careful, the snow is slippery; don't fall." Luo Sen frowned at the dirty black snow that had been trampled on the ground. He quickly jogged to catch up with Si Nan, picked her up in a princess carry, sprinted to the back of the truck, set her down on clean snow, and pulled back the grimy tarp.
Inside the truck bed, besides dozens of barrels of gasoline and diesel of various sizes, there was also plenty of rice, flour, instant noodles, and self-heating meals.
"Wow, these are all my favorites! Hahaha~"
The group of men kneeling in the dirty black snow thought: You dog of a man! You sure change faces fast. You made our knees slam onto the concrete—doesn't it hurt us? Are our knees not made of flesh? Do we have stainless steel kneecaps?
However, no one dared to voice their curses.
"Hmm?" As if he had heard their inner thoughts, Luo Sen turned and shot a sharp glare at them. Everyone immediately forced smiles that looked worse than crying and bowed their heads to beg for mercy.
"Sir? Please just let us go. Everything is yours."
"Depends on my mood." Luo Sen walked over with his long legs, gathered all the guns, and placed them in the truck bed in front of Si Nan, blocking everyone's view so she could put them into her Space.
It was just a wave of the hand. After only a few seconds, Si Nan and Luo Sen walked back over, stopping hand-in-hand in front of the leader. "Tell me, which other gas stations nearby have you looted?"
The leader looked up and saw a beautiful sight. He hadn't noticed before, but this woman was so beautiful!
If... they could go back alive, and if... they could bring this Beauty back to present to the Boss, would they be able to trade for their families' freedom?
"Answer, or die!" Luo Sen's voice, cold as crushing ice and snow, suddenly woke the daydreaming leader. He squeezed his eyes shut and roared, "All the gas stations in this area have been hit by us! It's all in the two big trucks! Please, sir, let us go!"
Si Nan and Luo Sen exchanged a glance. "We can head back now."
"True, you're tired too." Luo Sen withdrew his power and took Si Nan's hand, walking toward the Armored Vehicle.
Behind them, the leader scrambled up, dragging his left leg with its shattered knee toward the off-road Jeep they had driven. He was clever; when his knees hit the ground, he had concentrated all his weight on his left leg. His right leg was only numb from the shock, and the kneecap wasn't broken.
So the moment Luo Sen released his power, he regained his freedom and desperately crawled toward the Jeep. He immediately opened the door, and a black figure flashed past his eyes.
"Woof! Woof! Woof!" It barked anxiously and lunged at Si Nan and Luo Sen, who were walking away with their backs turned.
"Yes! Da Hei, bite that man to death! Keep the woman! What the hell are you all still kneeling for? If you're not dead, get up! All together now—capture that woman and bring her back to the Boss, and our families will be free! Hurry!"
"Yes, Boss! Let's fight them!" The others also pulled out weapons from their persons and, one by one, rushed toward Luo Sen on trembling legs.
"You go in first." Hearing the commotion behind him, Luo Sen calmly ushered Si Nan into the Armored Vehicle. He closed the door, turned around, and his expression suddenly turned cold as his power rippled out.
The leader had just rushed to within a meter of him, but he could no longer move. Not only that, an invisible force threw all of them backward.
The next moment, the surrounding zombies that had been waiting quietly roared excitedly and surged forward. A sea of corpses, dense and packed, split into several small squads mid-way to surround everyone.
Luo Sen opened the car door and sat inside, enjoying the "beautiful scenery" outside the vehicle.
