11: : Scumbag came

Si Nan thought again, "Why am I being so silly? After the zombie virus breaks out, good cars will be everywhere, free for the taking—$0 shopping. It's more important to save money to stockpile supplies."

Anyway, she had bought so much fuel. Thinking this, she drove away directly. If all else failed, she still had a little electric scooter at home.

The hotel was very punctual; they called at exactly 11:00 AM to tell her that the 300 tables of delicious food were ready. They asked her to come taste them in person and then pick them up. It happened to be lunchtime.

The female manager who received her looked at her as if she were a walking pile of commission. "Miss Si, please have a seat. We've prepared several of your favorite dishes for you to taste. They all came from the same pot and were specially prepared for you. Please, give them a try."

"Each dish for the 300 tables has been individually packaged and placed in insulated boxes, making it convenient for delivery to your door later."

The table in front of her was covered with all kinds of delicious dishes, full of color, aroma, and flavor, and steaming hot. Si Nan picked up her chopsticks, took a Braised Lion's Head Meatball, and put it in her mouth. The taste was amazing.

"Mm, not bad, no problem. No need for delivery; I happened to drive a small truck today. Here are the car keys, go ahead and load them up." Si Nan tossed the car keys to the female manager and thoroughly enjoyed the feast.

This was her first decent meal since her rebirth. She didn't want to be disturbed. After experiencing the apocalypse where she couldn't even get instant noodles, she craved such delicacies immensely.

The female manager was also a capable person; she caught the keys and left with a smile.

Only after the VIP door closed did Si Nan begin to feast. During her weight-loss period, she didn't dare eat too much; she ate until she was full and satisfied. She had the waiter pack up the leftovers and carried them in her hand.

Before leaving, she ordered another 300 tables and even bargained for a cheaper price than before. After swiping her card and leaving the delivery time and location, she departed.

"Living, living, living well—" Just then, Xia Mi called. She thought it was to notify her about unloading the goods tonight, but it wasn't.

Xia Mi asked her point-blank, "Why didn't you tell me you had a fight with your Boyfriend? Gao Ming actually called me to ask if you were still mad at him?"

"How did you answer?" Si Nan frowned. She hadn't expected Gao Ming to go through the things in her rental house so quickly. It seemed he was still thinking about her satellite phone and couldn't wait to get his hands on it.

What a complete scum!

He kept saying they should break up if they were going to break up, threatening her not to regret it and come begging him. She had also torn off her face with him in front of Xu Songquan. Any man with a sense of shame would have stopped there.

But in the blink of an eye, Gao Ming didn't care at all. He found Xia Mi so quickly, wanting to feign a reconciliation and coax her with a few sweet words as usual, all just to get her satellite phone.

"Sigh, how could I have been so blind in my past life? I grew these big eyes for nothing." Si Nan looked up to the sky and sighed.

On the phone, Xia Mi was still prying for every detail. "Quick, tell me. Weren't you two always doing well? You were even living together."

This 'living together' wasn't that 'living together,' but Si Nan was too lazy to explain to someone like Xia Mi. Now wasn't the time to fall out with Xia Mi, so she had to stabilize her and said:

"Blacklist Gao Ming's number immediately. If he calls again, don't pay him any attention. He's a snob who likes the rich and hates the poor. He cheated on me behind my back with the daughter of the General Manager who just joined the company. He wants to soar to the top and looked down on me long ago."

"What? Scumbag! Oh no, why didn't you say so earlier? He said it was all his fault and wanted to come apologize to you. I didn't know you were keeping the part-time unloading job from him, so I told him the address."

Si Nan had a headache. She wasn't afraid of Gao Ming's pestering; she was afraid of the trouble and that it would delay her stockpiling. "It's fine. If you told him, you told him. As long as you don't take any more of his calls and don't tell him the specific time we're unloading, it'll be fine, right? He's not some immortal with foresight."

"True. Girl, I've got your back. Such scum doesn't deserve you." At this time, Xia Mi was still on Si Nan's side because she hadn't met Gao Ming in person yet. After hanging up, she obediently blacklisted Gao Ming's number.

But Si Nan overestimated Gao Ming's shamelessness. After two days without a call from Xia Mi, he realized he'd been blacklisted and started staking out Century Department Store every night.

That night, she came to unload as usual and was cornered by Gao Ming. He came alone today, holding a bouquet of roses.

He really was willing to spend now. In the three years they'd known each other, Gao Ming had never given her roses, but this time he bought a large bouquet.

She was thinking, if she slaughtered Gao Ming now and spilled his hot blood on these rose petals, would the roses look even more vivid and dripping?

Gao Ming lowered his posture, his tone gentle and amiable. "I'm sorry, Xiao Nan. I've been reflecting on myself these past few days. I was wrong to you, I neglected you. But we've known each other for three years; you know I like you and can't live without you. Come back, okay? Let's get engaged right away, alright?"

"Blargh—"

Si Nan almost threw up; she actually walked to the side and started dry-heaving.

Gao Ming gritted his teeth inwardly but remained pleasant. "Xiao Nan, are you unwell? Stop unloading. Why didn't you tell me you were doing such tiring part-time work?"

"Look at you, you've only been away from me for a few days and you've already lost weight. It's all because I didn't care for you enough. I'll help you back now and treat you to a big meal."

He stepped forward to grab Si Nan's arm.

Si Nan dodged it and quickly put distance between herself and Gao Ming. "Get lost. I don't want to see you again."

She really didn't want to see Gao Ming again. Seeing him made her want to kill him. She was afraid that if she lost control, she'd end up in the police station before the apocalypse arrived.

"Xiao Nan, you're still angry, aren't you? How about you hit me to vent your anger? Once you've vented, come back with me, okay?" Gao Ming was relentless, blocking Si Nan's path again.

The next second, Si Nan was furious: "Gao Ming, is there no end to this?"

Her eyes held naked killing intent, and her hands were clenched into fists. It made the hair on Gao Ming's neck stand up. "Xiao Nan, you?"

"Don't call me Xiao Nan again. You're not worthy. Get lost!" Si Nan used a great deal of effort to refrain from killing Gao Ming right then and there.

Just then, Xia Mi arrived. "You're Gao Ming, right? You have the nerve to show up. Is cheating that great?"

Si Nan took the opportunity while Xia Mi was blocking Gao Ming to slip away.

She didn't know what Gao Ming said to Xia Mi, but when Xia Mi returned, she actually started speaking up for him. "I think he really knows he was wrong. Why don't you give him a chance? He said he didn't actually do anything and you've really misunderstood him."

"Besides, he's so handsome. Are you really willing to let him go?"

"He's yours." Si Nan waved her hand and decisively walked toward the large truck that was reversing.

Xia Mi stomped her foot. "I'm being serious with you. Can you be a bit more serious?"

Only Si Nan knew that there was no need to 'give' him; once Xia Mi met Gao Ming, she would naturally throw herself at him. Just now, when the two of them first met, she had seen clearly that both their eyes showed a flash of surprise.
