64: Surround her, morally blackmail her.

What was the reason?

Murder!

After Huang Jianli left his parents-in-law's house, he took his supplies and hid in his Younger Female Cousin's home. He had thought she lived alone, but upon entering, he realized she had lied to him; her Boyfriend was also there.

The reason her Younger Female Cousin had deceived Huang Jianli was that she had very little food left at home and coveted his supplies.

Huang Jianli, who had just killed his own wife with his own hands, entered the house calmly and generously brought out some food to please the two of them.

Once they became more acquainted, Huang Jianli took advantage of the moment his Younger Female Cousin went to shower. He lured her Boyfriend into a room and finished him off. Then, he stood guard at the bathroom door with a Kitchen knife, stabbing his Younger Female Cousin the moment she stepped out.

After dealing with both of them, he efficiently threw their bodies off the balcony to create the illusion of suicide. At a time like this, who would care about who lived or died? Naturally, no one suspected Huang Jianli.

Being so busy, he naturally had no time to check his phone.

Meanwhile, Si Nan had no idea that her friend Xia Mi had done her a huge favor before dying by dealing with the ruthless Xu Da. She was currently happily playing with her beloved, razor-sharp ancient saber when several alarms suddenly went off.

Her face darkened after checking through her binoculars. A crowd of men, women, young, and old had gathered outside her courtyard walls. They were mostly vulnerable people: some supporting elderly parents, some holding infants only a few months old, some disabled, and others being carried on door planks.

Every single one of them looked pitiable, crying heart-wrenchingly as they knelt and begged her for food.

“Si Nan, please be kind and give us something to eat, won't you? Look at my eighty-year-old mother; she's so hungry she can barely walk to your house.”

“Auntie knows you've been a beautiful and kind-hearted girl since you were little. You surely won't leave my three-month-old Child to die, will you? Just give us a few bags of rice to make some porridge for the baby?”

“Xiao Nan, your Grandpa has come with his Spouse to beg you. We live just across from you; we're close neighbors. You're kind, so you surely won't watch your Grandpa and his Spouse starve to death.”

“Si Nan, Grandma is kneeling to you. Please, just a bite of food? Anything will do, my son is about to fade away.”

“—”

Everyone knelt down, tears and snot streaming down their faces. The sight of the older generation kneeling to a young girl would make anyone's heart ache with pity.

But Si Nan, having died once already, was long accustomed to such scenes and had forged a heart of cold steel.

These people were surrounding her and morally kidnapping her. Knowing they couldn't succeed through repeated attacks and fearing the weapons in her hands, they had come up with this scheme.

Pity, though—she was no longer the fool of her past life and would not be wastefully kind again.

“This young lady is not interested in your problems.” Si Nan put down the binoculars. She couldn't even be bothered to deal with them, going about her business and letting the people outside keep kneeling, crying, and begging.

There were so many delivery blind boxes yet to be opened. She brought out a portion, sat on her soft sofa, and began unboxing. The first box gave her a pleasant surprise: “Oh, it's River Snail Rice Noodles. Not bad, not bad at all—an unexpected find.”

The second one: “Damn, condoms.”

She threw them directly into the trash.

Thus, she spent her time joyfully cursing and cheering while listening to news from The Authorities and occasionally glancing at the surveillance footage on her phone.

The people outside continued their performance. Seeing that Si Nan had no reaction after they had waited so long, their despair and anger turned into verbal abuse:

“Si Nan, you're leaving us to die! You're morally bankrupt! What's the point of living like a shut-in turtle all by yourself?”

“You have no compassion; you won't come to a good end!”

“This old woman curses you to die alone and suffer a miserable death!”

“You're a jinx, a monster reborn to curse your parents and neighbors! You'll definitely go to hell when you die!”

“Refusing us food and refusing to save us... you're worse than a pig or a dog! You're a beast who deserves to be cut into a thousand pieces—”

Eventually, those people began throwing snowballs, trash, and stones, making loud "thuds" as they pelted her courtyard gate.

Her lips curled into a cold, sarcastic sneer. “See, this is who you really are, my dear neighbors. I won't even waste a bullet on you. Leaving you to fend for yourselves is the best outcome.”

Just as she finished speaking, she faintly heard a voice amidst the noise on the surveillance footage: “Hurry up! You guys, don't stop, keep digging! Once we dig through, we'll have more food than we can eat.”

“That little Beauty Si Nan would never imagine that while those idiots are making a scene, we'd team up to dig through her back wall. Hahaha~ You guys have no idea how beautiful that little Beauty was when she came to rent my warehouse.”

“I knew there’d be food if we followed Third Master.”

“That's right. But Third Master, are you really sure Si Nan hoarded that much food?”

“Nonsense! I, Third Master, saw it with my own eyes. If I wasn't sure, would I risk my life to bring you guys to this community to undermine her? She didn't just hoard a little food—it was a massive amount! She was stocking up for days on end.”

“That little girl is smart. Fearing her hoarding would be discovered, she lied to me, saying she was renting the warehouse for her company. In reality, it was just to pull the wool over the eyes of everyone in your community. She's quite capable.”

“Alright, Gouzi, stop doubting Third Master. All those delicious things she showed in her livestreams are ironclad proof. Hurry up and dig.”

“Well, well, so it's you. You came too.” Si Nan recognized the withered, large-eared warehouse landlord at a glance. She tossed aside the package in her hand and went up to the third floor. “Watch me pin you to a tree like a target.”

She gripped her Compound Bow, measured the distance between the withered Third Master and the tree trunk behind him, and adjusted her shooting angle.

At that moment, the people digging at her wall cried out in shocking despair, “Ahhh! How is this possible? She actually reinforced the ground inside the courtyard with Steel Plates! Third Master, look! We can't dig through at all!”

“What?” Third Master fell flat on his face in a snowdrift and peered intently inside, only to see thick Steel Plates. Refusing to believe it, he struck them with a shovel, producing a crisp metallic clang.

He stood up, pointing toward the third floor in a fit of rage, and cursed, “Si Nan, you shameless little brat, you—ah—thump!”

The cursing Big-Eared Thief, Third Master, was directly pinned to the tree trunk behind him by a powerful arrow. Si Nan’s archery was unerring; the arrow pierced the air and successfully took down the enemy. “Yeah!”

“Ahhh! Third Master has been pinned to the tree! She really has weapons! She has weapons!”

“Gouzi—hurry, save me!” Third Master spat blood, reaching out toward Gouzi.

“Quick, save Third Master!” Gouzi and two other companions rushed forward, but the arrow's fletching had already passed through Third Master's chest, pinning him dead to the tree. The three of them couldn't pull him off even with their combined strength; instead, their efforts only made Third Master vomit blood incessantly.

“One more time! Everyone pull together this time!”

Just as Gouzi was psyching himself up to direct his two partners, a sharp arrow suddenly 'whooshed' through the air and sliced open the skin on his face—
