157: How about we get married? Right now.

Consequently, Luo Sen disappeared for an hour after the meal. When he returned, it was like a magic trick; he ran up to Si Nan and presented her with a large object covered by a bedsheet.

“What is this?” Si Nan pointed at the large object, not understanding. There seemed to be some kind of sound coming from inside.

Luo Sen smiled mysteriously. “Uncover it and see.”

“Just like Bai Zhuangzhuang, you wouldn't be giving me a little zombie, would you?” Si Nan said while pulling back the sheet, her eyes instantly lighting up.

It was a large iron cage containing a mother dog and six puppies. The puppies must have been born only a few days ago as they hadn't opened their eyes yet. The mother dog was nearly exhausted from hunger, yet she was still nursing—maternal love is truly great.

The little fellows were also very thin, but fortunately, they were all alive.

Si Nan reached out to take the cage, but before she could touch it, Bai Zhuangzhuang and Tian Yaya both screamed and snatched it away. “Wow! What cute puppies! Big Brother Zhuangzhuang, shall we give them names?”

“Sure! Let's call them Da Zhuang, Er Zhuang, San Zhuang—”

“I don't want that! Let's call them Da Ya, Er Ya, San Ya—”

“Yours don't sound good; they sound like girls' names.”

“Yours are the ones that don't sound good. How are they 'strong' at all?”

The two little fellows began to argue over the matter.

Luo Sen grabbed each of them by the back of their collars and lifted them away from the dog cage. “They are wolfhounds and are very dangerous. They aren't for you to play with. Go outside and play.”

“No, Uncle Luo! They're so cute, and we're cute too, so they won't bite us.” Tian Yaya, that little rascal, didn't believe him at all and ran back on her short legs.

Bai Zhuangzhuang was also reluctant to leave. “Uncle Luo, just let us play for a little longer, please?”

Seeing the expectant looks in the two little fellows' eyes, Si Nan's eyes flickered. She pulled the cage over and said to them, “It's not impossible for you two to raise them, but you must do it under adult supervision. Only after the dogs are familiar with you can you play with them on your own.”

“Mhm, mhm! Anything else?”

“Also, you can't bring them inside the house to play. In a bit, I'll have the uncles help build a large kennel for them. Before you're familiar with the mother dog, you must play with the puppies outside the kennel. You can't go inside. Do you understand?”

“We understand! Thank you, Auntie.” The two little fellows were incredibly happy, yet they still hovered around the cage, unwilling to leave.

Luo Sen had no choice but to carry the cage to an empty row house for them to play with, and he also prepared food for the mother dog.

He came back to seek credit from Si Nan. “Do you like the little wolfhounds?”

Si Nan knew Luo Sen was trying to please her. In truth, she hadn't been truly angry from the start. It was just that Luo Sen clung to her too tightly—the kind of clinging that lasted from day to night—making her feel a bit suffocated and wanting some time alone to cool off.

She was clear about Luo Sen's sincerity toward her. Among everyone, only Luo Sen understood her best, knowing what she was thinking at every step.

Without a word, Si Nan took the initiative to give him a sweet kiss on the cheek. This was already the greatest sign of forgiveness and sincerity.

“How can one kiss on the cheek be enough?”

Luo Sen joyfully pulled Si Nan into his arms and pressed her against the wall, kissing her fiercely. Only when he was about to lose control did he finally release her and head off to work without looking back. “I'll let you off for now. I'll kiss you more tonight.”

“I'm very satisfied with the gift. The wolfhounds are great; they're perfect for guarding the house.” She had been thinking about bringing back any uninfected dogs she encountered while searching for supplies to guard the home.

Raising them herself was even better; they would be loyal.

It would prevent someone like Deng Zhang from breaking in with a group of Mercenaries without anyone knowing. Luckily she was there this time, but what if she hadn't been? The consequences would be unimaginable!

Speaking of which, those dozen or so Mercenaries had so much equipment on them; it took her quite a while to collect it all. And then there were the supplies in Deng Zhang's villa—just thinking about it was exciting.

Si Nan suppressed her excitement and checked on the zombies outside. They probably felt that the people inside Yunshu Mountain Villa were out of reach, as they were gradually leaving one by one. Only those who had feasted on Deng Zhang and his Mercenaries remained.

The results of the construction were slowly starting to show. Countless rows of steel wires were being strung from the perimeter walls up to the roof of the living quarters. The gaps in between were joined with steel frames, making the entire open courtyard look as though it were covered by an outdoor screen. Without high-powered binoculars, it was impossible to see these dense, tough, fine steel wires.

Even more terrifying was that these wires were connected to a power source. Any death-defying helicopter was welcome to try and land.

This was only part of the construction. In the main building area—the primary villas where Luo Sen, Song Yuan, and Bai Zichuan lived—each had been built into an independent courtyard with steel walls providing a 360-degree view without blind spots.

At the courtyard entrances and where the walls connected to the villa rooftops, stainless steel electric folding curtains were installed. They could block bullets and other attacks during an assault, and also provide shelter from rain, snow, and sun—the best of both worlds.

Furthermore, the Residential Area was separated from the golf course, racecourse, and tea garden in the back. High steel walls were erected in the middle, splitting the entire villa area in two, leaving only gates on both sides for passage.

This meant that even if other areas of the villa grounds fell, the Residential Area would be just as difficult to breach as Si Nan's courtyard, remaining safe inside.

This part of Luo Sen's design was primarily to prevent intruders. He and Si Nan couldn't stay here forever; there were more people over at the Residential Area, and this place was already an extremely safe zone.

However, this villa was the final base for him and Si Nan, a place they both loved.

In addition to this, there were many other small renovation projects. During this time, when common materials ran low, Luo Sen went out and scavenged a lot more.

Seven days later, it was perfectly completed.

Standing atop the tallest main building and looking down, there was a shocking sense of being ten thousand feet high, a feeling of 'I alone am supreme.'

Si Nan waved her hand with grand, heroic spirit. “Let all the big shots who want to fight for this come! I'll use you to test the power of our renovations. I'll make sure none of you return alive! Hahaha~”

Luo Sen held an umbrella in one hand and quietly slipped his other arm around her waist, saying indulgently, “Tell me, what else do you want? I'll give you everything—for instance, don't you want me?”

“Oh my, this snow is falling way too hard. We should go down.” The scene before Si Nan's eyes suddenly changed. If Luo Sen hadn't been holding her tightly, that slip just now would have sent her falling.

Luo Sen glanced out of the corner of his eye at the light snow that had almost stopped, and he held the escaping Si Nan tighter. “Where else does Nan Nan want to run to? When will you finally face the reality of us? Hmm?”

He drew out the end of his sentence, his handsome face slowly drawing closer. His grayish-blue eyes were fixed intently on Si Nan's tempting lips. He no longer wanted to suppress himself and suddenly lowered his head to kiss her. “Shall we get married? Right now.”

He didn't want to wait another moment, especially after seeing Song Yuan's Child and the smile on Song Yuan's face that even a pot lid couldn't hide. A father's strength—he also wanted to have a Child of his own, and he also wanted to be a father—”
