160: She wanted to see what this woman was up to.
Luo Sen's lips curled into a smile. "Could it be that you scammed him for it?"
"Hahaha, you hit the nail on the head! I used a bit of supplies for an unequal exchange with him. He was so furious he was practically fuming from every orifice and on the verge of collapsing, but it felt great!"
"Who told him to look at me with such ill intentions? He thought I was blind."
"And that Deng Jiude by his side—if it weren't for the fact that he gave me this Armored Vehicle, I would have beaten his pig head in long ago. He's so old, yet he's still such a lecher."
"Any man who calls Zhuo Guangshun a brother is no good. Now that he's my follower, I'll have to find some time to make Deng Jiude lose some weight."
By the end of her sentence, Si Nan was gnashing her teeth, wishing she could just throw Zhuo Guangshun and Deng Jiude to the zombies to be devoured.
Luo Sen shook his head. "There's no need for you to act against those two. Leave them to your man. I'll train them until they're broken to vent your anger."
Meanwhile, Zhuo Guangshun and Deng Jiude, who had just settled into their blankets after a busy day, suddenly felt a series of cold drafts behind them. Both looked at their tightly closed doors and windows simultaneously. "That's not right. The doors and windows are all locked tight. Where's this cold wind coming from?"
Little did they know that what awaited them next was devilish torture.
The two spent half an hour scouring the three inner and outer rooms clean before heading down to the first-floor storefront. Everything here remained unchanged, just as it was before the Apocalypse—half ordinary weapons and half high-end weapons.
Si Nan swept everything, including the shelves, into her space. Then they went down to the underground warehouse. As Si Nan expected, her beautiful eyes suddenly lit up. "Rocket Launchers? There's a batch of new stock hidden here. That Fat Pig's supply source is quite formidable to actually get a hold of powerful weapons like Rocket Launchers."
Luo Sen grabbed her hand to stop her from touching the Rocket Launchers first. "Wait a moment, let me check first. This batch of goods definitely isn't his. The crates are made of military-grade materials; someone must be colluding with him in some shady business."
Only then did Si Nan look at the crates containing the Rocket Launchers. The worn edges revealed the original military green color. She peeled back a layer of adhesive paper and saw a string of serial numbers. "Sure enough. But regardless of the channel they came from, they're mine now."
Luo Sen pointed to the spot where the Rocket Launchers were lined up for Si Nan to see. "One is missing, but we didn't find it upstairs or downstairs just now."
Si Nan and he exchanged a look, and suddenly, in a moment of shared understanding, they laughed in unison. "There's a third floor above the second! Hahaha~"
Luo Sen picked up a Rocket Launcher and loaded it with ammunition. "I'll test its power in a bit."
"Of course." Si Nan smiled. She thought the keys to the two layers of doors for the storefront downstairs should have been on the boss with the big head and big ears. They had been hasty and forgotten about it before throwing him down.
Turning her head, she waved her hand to collect all the treasures in the warehouse. The two then walked toward the third floor, which looked more like a living area compared to the second floor.
However, from the furnishings and items in the room, it wasn't hard to tell that the previous resident was definitely a sophisticated woman with considerable wealth; the cosmetics on the table were all luxury brands.
They were all from the same series with no off-brands. Even the bedsheets, duvet covers, tea sets, pots, and pans were all in sets. Even if a man were to give them as gifts, it was unlikely he would give so many complete sets, nor would they be so comprehensive.
However, after searching every corner of the room, they found no living person. Instead, they found a Rocket Launcher hidden in a secret compartment in the wardrobe, along with the cold corpse of a woman.
A familiar military shovel was still lodged in the woman's head. The murderer was undoubtedly the man with the big head and big ears. There were no signs of a struggle in the room; this woman must have been familiar with him, which was why she was caught off guard.
Luo Sen looked around and found a contract, which he flipped open for Si Nan to see. "No wonder. This woman was the landlord of the storefront."
"That explains it." Si Nan felt no pity. Living through two lifetimes was enough to make her accustomed to the terrifying nature of the human heart. The distortion of human nature was far more cruel than the zombies outside.
She took everything in the room that she liked or was valuable, including the unopened cosmetics. She had noticed that Xiao Wen and the others' faces were nearly chapping; this brand would suit them well, so it was a convenient acquisition.
When they reached the first-floor shop door—"Boom!"
Luo Sen blew the shop door to pieces with a single shot. Si Nan took out a high-intensity flashlight, and the two walked out of the shop hand-in-hand. Fortunately, the angle had been well-chosen to avoid the sports car, otherwise her handsome car would have been gone.
"My god, is it this late already? It's pitch black, and the zombies are roaring." Si Nan swept the high-intensity flashlight in a circle and gave a long stretch.
"Get in the car, Nan Nan. We're going back to the Residential Area." Luo Sen opened the car door and took the flashlight from Si Nan's hand, acting as a valet to let her into the car.
Suddenly, someone shouted from upstairs, "Luo Sen? Luo Sen, is that you?"
"Hmm? Someone here knows you?" Si Nan immediately looked up. A woman was leaning out of a window on the seventh floor. With the light behind her, her features were unclear.
However, judging by her excited tone and the fact that she could call out Luo Sen's name directly, this woman was definitely someone familiar with him.
"Who is it?" Luo Sen shone the flashlight upward and saw a familiar face. "It's you, the assistant to the Business Department's General Manager. What do you want with me?"
Luo Sen's attitude was cold, and his tone lacked even a hint of surprise. It was as if no woman in the world other than Si Nan could pique his interest.
The woman upstairs grew anxious. "This is bad, the zombies are surrounding you! You can't kill them all with that. Come up first!"
"Ignore her, let's go." Luo Sen took Si Nan's hand and tried to lead her into the car.
The woman upstairs continued to shout, "Luo Sen, we were colleagues! Are you really going to ignore me when I'm telling you to come in and hide from the zombies?"
Si Nan suddenly pulled back on Luo Sen's hand and shouted with feigned fear, "Ahhh, so scary! The zombies are surrounding us! Luo Sen, let's go up and hide!"
She wanted to see what this woman was up to. It was possible that the woman had already seen them when they first arrived, and Luo Sen's secret might have been exposed.
Luo Sen: "..."
Feeling helpless, he let Si Nan pull him upstairs.
This building was located in a bustling part of the city center and was sturdily built. As long as the first floor wasn't breached, the zombies couldn't get in. There wasn't a single zombie in the stairwell. However, this was only temporary; once she and Luo Sen left, it would be different. The shattered shop door on the first floor was the biggest vulnerability.
Once they left, the zombies would swarm in. There were likely quite a few survivors in this building, as many rooms upstairs had lights on. It seemed not only safe but also well-stocked with food.
It made sense; the ground floor was full of shops, including several supermarkets. As long as one wasn't afraid to die, they could come down and get food.
Soon, they reached the seventh floor, where the woman was already waiting for them with the door open.
However, when she saw Si Nan's face up close, a flash of murderous intent flickered in her eyes.
Si Nan caught it, but she entered the room acting as if nothing was wrong.
Luo Sen was dragged in by her. As soon as they both entered and stood their ground, the door behind them shut with a 'bang'.
