23: The end times are coming.
Just then, the three drivers who had been eating returned covered in blood. Upon seeing the Supervisor and Si Nan, they suddenly lunged at them like madmen.
Si Nan shouted at the Supervisor, "Run!"
But the Supervisor ran toward the three drivers. "Masters, what's wrong with you?"
"Ah, why are you biting me? Si Nan, save me!" Just then, the Supervisor let out a blood-curdling scream.
"I can't save you." Seeing all three Masters lunging at the Supervisor, Si Nan waved her hand toward the two vehicles, clearing out the goods inside. She immediately retreated into the warehouse, locked the main door, and pulled the circuit breaker inside.
She jumped onto a loading cart she had intentionally parked behind the door. Using the emergency lights for illumination, she drove around frantically collecting goods. This was the early stage of the Zombie outbreak; before everyone could react, there wouldn't be too many Zombies on the streets. Relying on her experience fighting Zombies in her past life, she would be able to escape home soon.
But she couldn't leave behind a single item of these supplies. She moved goods frantically inside, unaware that the outside had already fallen into complete chaos. Police sirens and ambulances wailed, people fled in panic, and blood splattered across the transparent ice pellets on the ground. The Authorities deployed a large number of personnel to intervene.
With just a wave of her hand, Si Nan quickly emptied the vast underground warehouse. By the time she opened the front door and stepped out, the scene was one of total chaos; even the security room had fallen.
The two single Security Guards on duty had just been bitten and hadn't turned into Zombies yet. A Zombie wearing a work uniform lunged at Si Nan. "You're the first!"
Holding a military shovel in each hand, Si Nan crushed the Zombie's head in a single move. She then entered the security room to deal with the two guards who were about to turn, and took the spare key to another cold storage warehouse.
When she opened this warehouse, she was overjoyed. Although this cold storage wasn't as large as the underground warehouse she had just emptied, it was still quite big, filled with various imported meats.
She didn't have time to admire it. She closed the door and ran through, waving her hand as she went.
When she came back out, she had nearly frozen to death. After jumping around at the entrance for two minutes, she immediately took the staff elevator upstairs.
It was nearly dawn. There wasn't a soul on the dozens of shopping floors above, which were filled with luxury brands. If she didn't go on a zero-dollar shopping spree now, when would she?
She took the elevator to the top floor and began clearing out the mall from top to bottom. Aside from a few scattered lights, it was pitch black inside. She didn't care; she grabbed a Child's bicycle and emptied everything—men's wear, women's wear, children's clothing, shoes, hats, and cosmetics—along with the shelves.
Arriving at a row of jewelry stores, she initially didn't want to take anything since it wasn't edible. But then she thought, why waste it? She smashed the glass door of the first jewelry store with her military shovel and swept it clean with a wave. She collected so much jewelry her hands felt weak, continuing until she reached the underground supermarket on the final floor.
She emptied over a dozen floors in less than half an hour. Looking back, the Space was exceptionally spacious and bright. She didn't rush out; instead, she took out some gear and armed herself from head to toe, putting on a safety helmet before taking the elevator down to find her electric scooter.
The moment the elevator doors opened, even with her helmet on, she could smell the thick scent of blood. A Zombie was mauling a Security Guard on duty, while two others lunged at her. The scenes of the Apocalypse were recurring.
The reality before her eyes told her that the Apocalypse had arrived early.
*Thud!* After knocking them down with one shovel strike per Zombie, she quickly hopped on her electric scooter, avoiding Zombies and fleeing survivors as she rushed toward home.
The roads, which were already in poor condition, were now completely gridlocked. Even police cars and ambulances couldn't move. Si Nan was glad she was riding her electric scooter as she zipped through the gaps between vehicles.
"Ah, help!"
"No, someone please save me?"
"Child? My Child?"
Suddenly, screams erupted from ahead. Si Nan immediately veered toward the emergency lane on the left. Someone tried to stop her to ask what was happening, but she sped right past them. "Just run!"
The young man shouted from behind, "Beautiful, give me a lift! I'll give you my car!"
"Car? Oh, right." Si Nan checked the distance between herself and the Zombies and immediately scanned her surroundings. Seeing a beautiful Ferrari with its door open and no one inside but the keys still in the ignition, she took advantage of the chaos to stash it directly into her Space.
Then, she couldn't be stopped. She collected every empty car she saw with keys in it along the way until a pack of Zombies charged straight at her. She immediately hopped off, stowed her electric scooter, gripped her military shovel with both hands, and charged into the horde.
"Ahhh, it's crazy! Everyone's gone crazy!" The people running ahead of the Zombie horde saw Si Nan charging toward the Zombies instead of fleeing, and they screamed as they ran.
Others only knew fear, unaware that the current Zombies were in their weakest initial stage—slow-moving and brainless.
Their evolution and mutation would be rapid. In her past life, it only took a month for these low-level Zombies to gain intelligence, learning how to smash doors, break windows, and crawl through dog flaps to eat people.
So at this time, as long as you gave their heads a hard blow, you could kill them. This was why Si Nan pressed forward so boldly.
At this moment, she was like a god of slaughter emerged from hell. Striking with both hands, she quickly carved a bloody path for herself and escaped to the back of the horde.
She immediately released her electric scooter from her Space, hopped on, and sped away. As she flew past, she kept her eyes and ears open, collecting every nice car she saw with the keys still inside.
By now, she had reached the bridge, the shortest necessary route to her home. However, the bridge was swarming with Zombies and fleeing crowds. There was blood everywhere—on the cars, the ground, and the railings.
"How can it be so fast?" Si Nan was stunned. An hour ago, there had only been reports of bitings at the hospital, yet in just one short hour, it had escalated to this. That meant it wasn't just the hospital; similar events must have occurred in multiple locations.
"No, I must get home as quickly as possible." Watching the crowd and the Zombie horde closing in on her, she tightened her grip on her military shovel and charged forward again.
*Thud!* One, two, three Zombies were knocked down by her. Braving the screams, she carved a bloody path for herself, riding her electric scooter for all she was worth while the Zombie horde pursued her relentlessly.
As she swerved to avoid two Zombies ahead, a young couple suddenly got out of their car and blocked her path. "Little sister, I'll trade my car and everything valuable I have for your electric scooter?"
The woman, her face pale, pleaded with Si Nan through tears, "Please, I beg you. We have a three-month-old Child and an elderly person at home. If we don't make it back, they won't survive."
Si Nan snorted coldly. "If I give you my electric scooter, I won't survive either. As you can see, there's nothing I can do."
"Roar!" The two Zombies let out beastly growls and charged.
Si Nan casually pulled out the key to her electric scooter, bypassed the two shocked people, and dispatched the Zombies with one hand each.
"Ah!" The woman screamed, throwing herself into the man's arms. Such a thing was unthinkable in normal times, yet she had just witnessed a young girl kill so efficiently.
She was terrifying!
