194: Even the dragons in the sky would run away if they saw this.
Si Nan didn't dare to be careless. She quickly turned her head, her eyes scanning in all directions. She didn't see any fish that had slipped through the net, but she did see an Emerald. It sparkled with a green light under the intense illumination, stimulating her eyes.
"Hahaha, I'm rich, I'm rich!" She picked up that Emerald crystal core and then took out an ancient saber she had 'borrowed' from Zhuo Guangshun, beginning to 'slice watermelons.'
Don't be fooled by how brain-dead these Zombie Fish were; their crystal cores weren't small at all. Each one was about the size of a quail egg, looking as though they had eaten many good things. Considering the size of these crystal cores, she almost wished more Zombie Fish would come.
Luo Sen said he wanted to form a special army, but children with special constitutions like An An were hard to come by. This army could also consist of living, normal people; as long as they could absorb the power of the crystal cores like she did and awaken a Supernatural Ability, it would be fine.
When they got back, she would call everyone over and let them try one by one. With so many people in the Residential Area and Yunshu Mountain Villa, surely one or two Ability Users could be awakened?
"Hahaha, let's do exactly that." She laughed happily.
Three miles away, Luo Sen also joyfully looked at the oversized crystal core of a high-level Zombie Beast. It was actually comparable to a duck egg. "Great, this is enough for Nan Nan to absorb several times. Hmm?"
Just as he turned to head back, the winds rose and clouds surged around him. Some large animal was running toward him. The ground beneath his feet trembled from the impact, and the white snow covering the tall objects nearby was shaken off in an instant, revealing their original forms.
Luo Sen leaped onto a treetop and finally saw clearly what was coming: a group of bizarre-looking Zombie Beasts. There were the Zombie Fish he had just killed, as well as those whose original forms were tigers, wolves, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, foxes, crows, and more.
Well then, those that run on the ground and those that fly in the sky—they had all come.
Among them was a massive python. Its body was incomplete, exposing its bones, but its raised tail was terrifying. A long blade had grown out of the snake's tail, and the blade was covered with barbs.
If someone were swept by this tail, a living person would be sliced in two.
"Roar, roar, roar—" In the gap of his observation, that giant Zombie Python had already discovered him. Its tail dragged debris from the ground as it swept toward him with wild force.
With a "Crack!", the thick tree trunk beneath Luo Sen's feet—one that would take two people to encircle—was snapped in half effortlessly. Luo Sen fell along with the trunk.
The python locked its gaze on him, and its thick tail rose again, towering over his head before slamming down toward him fiercely.
"Since you're so eager to die, I'll slaughter you." Luo Sen pulled out the ancient saber Si Nan had given him and flew out. As he brushed past the giant tail, he severed it with a single strike, cutting off exactly that barbed section.
"Hiss, hiss~" The giant python rolled in the snow in pain, splashing black blood everywhere.
"Roar, roar, roar~" The other Zombie Beasts swarmed forward in a frenzy, showing off their signature skills in an attempt to tear Luo Sen apart alive.
However, Luo Sen leaped up from the flat ground, evading their encirclement. A burst of power exploded from the ground; seventy to eighty percent of the Zombie Beasts attacking him died instantly, and those remaining were all the powerful ones.
That crow was larger than an eagle. Flapping its wings and baring its sharp claws, it attacked Luo Sen from behind. Unfortunately, Luo Sen suddenly turned and delivered a horizontal cut, separating one of its claws from its body.
"Aw!" This fellow didn't flee; instead, it flew out and dove back at Luo Sen even faster. It thought that as the ruler of the sky, it could be faster than a mere human like Luo Sen.
The moment it dove down, Luo Sen flew away from his original spot with even greater speed and instantly doubled back. The ancient saber flew from his hand, tracing a bolt of lightning in the dark night as it sliced off the bird's head.
Having no time to extract the crystal core, he picked up the bird's head and tossed it aside, along with the python's large head. Next, it became Luo Sen's personal slaughterhouse as he went on a killing spree.
The ancient saber was like a divine weapon in his hands—cleaving, hacking, paring, stabbing, and slicing. He wielded it with such ease and skill that it displayed an unimaginable power far beyond what it showed in Si Nan's hands.
The blade's light was like a phantom, following him closely. He and the ancient saber moved so fast that only afterimages remained, exceeding the trajectory that the human eye could capture.
A few minutes later, all the Zombie Beasts were dead. Luo Sen collected two large bags of green crystal cores and returned fully loaded.
Inside the cabin, the four teenagers were still trembling all over from the high-level Zombie Beast earlier, unable to speak clearly. "Sister Nan, wha—wha—what was that thing just now? How could it be so big?"
"They were originally just ordinary fish from the sea. After they ate the flesh of human zombies, they evolved into that. Are you all scared?
Fear is useless. In the future, it will be a war between us and these things. Either they die, or we humans perish.
Tell me, after we go back, do you need to practice your skills day and night? If you don't become strong enough to kill them, sooner or later you'll be food in the mouths of those things."
What a great on-site teaching moment; Si Nan certainly wouldn't miss it.
After being lectured, An An became much more well-behaved and nodded along. "Mm-hmm, I'm the youngest, so I'll work even harder than my brothers and sisters."
Si Nan: "..."
She wanted to say: Work hard, my foot. You're already very powerful; you just don't know how to use your power for now. On the way back, I'll let Luo Sen teach you how to use your power. From now on, the safety of Cloud Villa is in your hands.
Jian Bing quickly sent the video of the Zombie Fish he had just filmed to Ji Yan, telling them to be careful when they went out and to let The Authorities prepare early.
Seeing that Luo Sen hadn't returned yet, he became worried. "Apprentice, should we fly the helicopter out to look for him?"
At the mention of Luo Sen, Si Nan's eyes shone with confident light. "Don't worry, Master. With his combat power, even a dragon in the sky would run away if it saw him. He'll be back soon.
It's probably because that remaining half of the Zombie Fish still had its two front claws and was running quite fast, so Luo Sen chased it a bit far.
I'm certain that Zombie Fish's crystal core must be very large. When we get back, I'll let you all try to develop yourselves. Who knows, maybe some of you can awaken a Supernatural Ability. The combat power you'd possess then wouldn't be comparable to that of an ordinary person."
"Mm-hmm, I want to try."
"I want to try too."
"We all want to try."
"Of course you have to try. With just those Zombie Fish from earlier, you couldn't kill them even if you practiced for five hundred years." Luo Sen had returned, smelling foul. He stood outside the cabin, taking off and discarding his outermost layer of clothing.
Si Nan handed him another set she had prepared in advance. Once everyone was dressed and ready, none of them felt sleepy anymore.
Luo Sen looked at the four teenagers. "Strike while the iron is hot. Don't wait until we're back; do it now."
"Hahaha, good, good, good!" Gu Shi was overjoyed and was the first to stretch out his small hand.
Si Nan and Jian Bing were also very expectant. Awakening a Supernatural Ability was extremely difficult, and since these children were so young, if they could awaken, they would be the pillars of the future with explosive combat power.
The master and Apprentice stared at Gu Shi without blinking.
