142: Unable to refute
"I probably understand!"
The Kunpeng Mystic Skill was suddenly unleashed, and a powerful suction force instantly drew the surrounding free-floating energy into his body. Because it was indiscriminate absorption, the energy within the treasure pearl was also instantly extracted, a golden energy, like a river, visibly pouring into Tang Ku's body.
One second, two seconds, three seconds, four seconds... By the fifth second, Tang Ku abruptly stopped his Cultivation Technique, looking at Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva opposite him with a solemn expression, and said in a deep voice, "What exactly is this thing? Why does its energy seem inexhaustible?"
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva shook his head and said, "I cannot speak of this matter... Since you have recovered your strength, leave now. This person will be useful in the future, and I hope you do not harm him!"
"It's something that cannot be spoken of again?"
In five seconds, Tang Ku's almost depleted energy was instantly replenished, and even all his Meridians felt distended.
This inconspicuous Buddhist treasure was simply too powerful, so powerful that it exceeded Tang Ku's own understanding.
He glanced at the unconscious Aspros, then suddenly smiled and said, "What if I don't want to let him go?"
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva was stunned. Before he could even open his mouth to speak, the body he controlled suddenly trembled, followed by a fist that had already pierced through the chest, blowing Aspros's heart to pieces!
"You... how can you be so violent? Are you still a Buddhist?"
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva said exasperatedly, "The Tang Sanzang I know would never do such a thing!"
"Then you have misjudged me!"
Tang Ku clasped his hands together, his expression cold as he said, "This Poor Monk is not a fool. After being fooled for so many years, I have basically figured it out. Whether it's the Gods of the Immortal Realm, or the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Western World, they are all a bunch of extremely selfish parasites, nothing more!
I walked step by step from the Eastern Land Great Tang to the Western Paradise. Perhaps you have heard of the hardships I experienced, but why is it that the closer we got to the Western Paradise, the fiercer and more powerful the demons we encountered became, while the Eastern Land, which doesn't respect enlightenment, had no vicious monsters?
All along the way, it was said to be to create hardships for me, to create the illusion of the eighty-one trials. Which powerful monster wasn't connected to someone from the Heavenly Court or the Western World? Either they were Gods who descended to the mortal world, or they were the mounts of powerful figures. If they were only targeting this Poor Monk, that would be one thing, but when they were demons, they didn't kill any less, did they? Those people they ate, those beings they harmed, were they all destined to suffer? Were there no innocent people among them?
Lion Camel Kingdom is not far from the foot of the Spirit Mountain, and an entire city of people was eaten clean. Did any of you Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, or whatever, think to do something about it? Were all the people in that city utterly evil and deserved to die?
Bodhisattva, ask yourself, did you become Bodhisattvas and Buddhas for the sake of the Universe's common people? Or was it simply for your own salvation, for the benefit of Buddhism?
Bodhisattva, can you tell me?"
These remarks rendered Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva speechless.
Mahasthamaprapta possessed great wisdom, but great wisdom did not mean he knew how to argue. Before Tang Sanzang's unparalleled eloquence, he could only admit defeat.
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva's mouth twitched for a long while before he finally managed to squeeze out a sentence: "But what does this have to do with you wantonly killing people...?"
"What relationship? It's a shame you're a Bodhisattva, yet you can't see through this!"
Tang Ku raised a finger and chuckled coldly, "The relationship is immense... This fellow aided evil, helping those extraterrestrial demons commit countless evil deeds of murder and arson. Just now, he even tried to kill you before you were born. In other words, he is an enemy, an enemy of this world. If left unchecked, he might become a murderous demon in the future! You are high above, disregarding the lives of the common people, but I, Tang Sanzang, must care. Not only must I care for them, I must also protect them, so that all mortal beings do not suffer the enslavement of evil gods or the harassment of evil demons. For any evildoer, I, Tang Sanzang, shall bury them!"
The aura of a grand vow slowly emanated from Tang Ku. This was not real energy, but a spiritual belief, and the rules of this Universe resonated with it.
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva stared blankly at Tang Ku, for a moment appearing as if he were a simpleton, not knowing what to say.
As one of the few honest people in the Western Paradise, he actually thought that Tang Sanzang's words seemed... perhaps... reasonable!
Not only was it reasonable, but Tang Sanzang, as a person with great wisdom, seemed to walk a completely different path from them. He had shed the pedantry and the self-preservation mentality of traditional Buddhist Disciples, replaced by a sense of responsibility towards this heaven, this earth, and this Universe.
And his strength... or rather, his combat power, had already far exceeded Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva's imagination.
"Alas, no wonder when I first saw you, I noticed you had the same aura as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. So you actually made such a grand vow!"
The corpse in front of Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva was still suspended. He gently waved his hand, and Aspros's body disappeared from sight.
Tang Ku clearly felt the spatial vibration and was slightly surprised: "Is this the technique of 'Mustard Seed Containing Sumeru'?"
"Yes, I have taken him into my Sumeru space... Hmm, his life force has not completely ceased, which should be related to the Chaos Power within his body!"
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva said, "I can save him!"
Tang Ku pouted: "A do-gooder... Alas, that's also why I became friends with you in the first place! In the entire Western Paradise, I only admire two people: one is you, and the other is Dragon Subduing Arhat. You two are the most selfless people in the entire Western Paradise..."
Tang Ku was right. Golden Cicada, this fellow, had a free-thinking, uninhibited, and even somewhat wild and unrestrained demeanor. Purely in terms of talent, he could have reached the Bodhisattva fruit status, or even become a Buddha, on his own.
But precisely because of this, many Bodhisattvas and Buddhas in the Western World, and even the gate-guarding Vajra, did not think highly of him.
Only the honest Mahasthamaprapta and the selfless, jovial Dragon Subduing Arhat had the best relationship with him.
"Sanzang... Hmm, or I don't know what you should be called..."
Mahasthamaprapta pondered for a moment, then said, "I have already promised you that Buddhism will not make things difficult for you... Well, to be precise, I can only manage myself. I will not have any conflict with you. You can do whatever you want. But in the future... perhaps... perhaps Buddhism might become your enemy, and at that time, I hope..."
"You want me to show mercy to Buddhists?"
Tang Ku pondered for a moment, "I cannot promise that, because no one can be sure what will happen in the future. But there is one thing I can guarantee: if one day Buddhists become my enemies, as long as they don't go too far, I can spare their lives. This is my promise, and it is valid everywhere!"
"In that case... thank you!"
Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva clasped his hands together, bowed slightly, and then waved his large sleeves, showering a golden light onto the roof of Old Man Zhang's house.
Tang Ku knew that it was the blessing of the Buddha's light. From this day forward, Old Man Zhang's family was destined to prosper. This was Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva's compensation to their family!
