488: Hanging on the wall

Legends about this monkey are truly countless from ancient times to the present.

However, legends about the monkey's Master are far less impressive; apart from his identity as a scripture seeker who was captured and rescued by the monkey and the others every day, there were no other notable achievements!

Of course, even though Tang Sanzang's reputation was not as loud in the Three Realms as Sun Wukong's, and even though Tang Sanzang appeared weak and in need of rescue day in and day out, his deterrent power in front of the monkey was truly something that could not be described to outsiders.

The monkey heard the arrogant voice below and was momentarily stunned, but he was a smart person after all; in just an instant, his head buzzed, he flipped off the throne, and looked at the monk before him with disbelief.

His face was as handsome as ever, though his originally weak features now held a hint of fortitude, yet he recognized who it was at a single glance.

However, that moon-white monk's robe felt a bit out of place.

The original Tang Sanzang wore dark robes, draped in a red cassock, wore a five-Buddha crown, and held a nine-ringed monk staff; that was the image he was familiar with.

But this violent, powerful, and handsome monk before him looked awkward no matter how he looked at him.

"What, is it hard to believe seeing your Master?"

Tang Ku suddenly pursed his lips and said, "Do you need your Master to recite the Tightening Fillet Spell to help you remember?"

The monkey shuddered instantly, then shook his head violently, before darting over in a few steps, still looking him up and down, and even sniffing with his nose.

"Have you evolved into a dog? Could your Master possibly be fake?"

The monk raised his fist and gave the monkey a hard knock on the head.

"Holy crap, you... you really are the Old Monk? Uh, Master... I misspoke... anyway... how are you here? Did you kick the bucket too?"

Sun Wukong touched Tang Ku all over, incoherent and with a mournful face, "Do you know what I've been through all these years? Damn it, I finally attained fruition, who would have thought my soul would be squeezed out by an idiot. Squeezed out is one thing, but then I was inexplicably sucked into this shitty place. Master, I never expected you to follow in my footsteps, actually... actually getting yourself killed inexplicably... I... where the hell am I supposed to go to reason this out... Uh, tell me, tell me, is this the work of that old guy Tathagata? Old Sun has no grudge against him, why would he harm me like this..."

Tang Ku's mouth twitched as he listened to his complaints; the surrounding monkeys and demons all retreated several steps, staring blankly at this scene.

"Alright, this chatterbox monkey is indeed Sun Wukong; this lazy demeanor hasn't changed a bit!"

Looking at the monkey before him, Tang Ku felt quite emotional, a myriad of feelings welling up in his heart. He said helplessly, "Wukong, your Master has also been looking for you for a long time!"

"Heh, what's the use of you looking for me, didn't you still kick the bucket? Let's just occupy this mountain and rule as kings today, we don't have to worry about food or drink, and we don't have to worry about the great scripture-seeking cause, it's even more carefree than Flower-Fruit Mountain... it's just that the days are a bit boring!"

The monkey put his hands on his hips and pointed around, "Look, these are all the underlings I've recruited!"

Watching this guy laughing and crying like a lunatic, Tang Ku felt a headache... although he was in a soul state and couldn't feel real pain, he just felt it hurt.

"Ahem, can you let your Master finish speaking?"

Tang Ku coughed lightly. Before he could speak, Sun Wukong opened his mouth to say something, but was slapped back by Tang Ku. The monk said angrily, "Shut up and listen to your Master, otherwise I'll break your legs and make you listen to the Tightening Fillet Spell a hundred times!"

The monkey was instantly dumbfounded: "Damn it, are you really the Old Monk? The Old Monk was never this rough... wait... ever since we met, you've beaten Old Sun twice, why do I not even have the urge to resist..."

"Heh, this is Bloodline suppression!"

Tang Ku laughed sinisterly, "Your Master is no longer that weak monk waiting for you to rescue him every day. If you don't believe me, let's try it out, you and me, and see whose fist is harder!"

Sun Wukong's eyes lit up, then he suddenly shrank his neck: "You won't use the Tightening Fillet Spell, right!"

Tang Ku asked strangely: "You are currently in a soul state, are you still afraid of the Tightening Fillet Spell?"

"I don't know either!"

Sun Wukong scratched his head in confusion, "I have clearly kicked the bucket, the soul state shouldn't be affected by the Tightening Fillet Spell, but... a while ago, about a year or so, my brain suddenly started hurting. It hurt for a long time, and my ears were filled with the incantations of the Tightening Fillet Spell, as if they were carved directly into my brain..."

Tang Ku suddenly realized, squinting his eyes: "So it turns out that even in a soul state, one can still be affected by the Tightening Fillet Spell, heh... hehehe..."

The time Sun Wukong mentioned coincided exactly with when Tang Ku encountered the guy who was trying to Possession the monkey and recited the Tightening Fillet Spell to save his life; the two matched perfectly.

In other words, this Tightening Fillet Spell could not only affect the monkey's Physical Body, but also his soul!

Seeing Tang Ku's sinister smile, how could the monkey not understand what Tang Ku was thinking? He hurriedly knelt on the ground, put his hands together, and said to the monk: "Master is above, Disciple pays respects... there's no need to recite the Tightening Fillet Spell, Disciple will obey Master's teachings, I won't interrupt anything you say!"

Tang Ku hurriedly put on a Master's demeanor and said: "A child who can be taught... hmm, your Master is a bit thirsty..."

Sun Wukong hurriedly said: "Someone, serve tea to my Master..."

Taking the tea, Tang Ku took a sip and then said: "Good tea, good tea, but this tea has stirred up my heart-fire, I'm hungry..."

The monkey hurriedly said again: "Someone, serve food to my Master..."

"Your Master's legs hurt..."

"I will pound your legs for you..."

"Your Master's back is itchy..."

"I will scratch it for you..."

"Your Master wants to find a Mistress for you..."

"Monk, are you done yet..."

The monkey was furious, jumping up and down and cursing, "Are you playing with me?"

Tang Ku put his hands together: "How does that Tightening Fillet Spell go again?"

The monkey plopped onto his knees, put his hands together, and kowtowed to the monk: "Master, please stop playing with me, okay? I admit I was wrong, really, truer than pearls!"

Tang Ku laughed: "I'm not joking, I really found a Mistress for you!"

"Bullshit, you have always regarded Buddhist precepts as the supreme iron law, would you find a lover?!"

The monkey said in shock.

"Heh, to use your words, the Buddha has kicked the bucket, what's the use of Buddhist precepts!"

Tang Ku looked disdainful, with an expression that said you're outdated.
