471: The proud general...is dead!

Swish!

Everyone's gaze focused on the calm and composed bald man.

"Jiang Yuan, release him!"

His Majesty the Emperor glanced at Tang Ku, then glared at Jiang Yuan and spoke sternly.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, Jiang Yuan suddenly said in a deep voice, "This person is an accomplice of the spies. His Highness Prince Yong has ordered me to apprehend all of these people. If Your Majesty says these two are not spies, then so be it, but if I don't bring this accomplice back, I'm afraid I won't be able to answer to Prince Yong. Even Your Majesty... heh, forgive my bluntness, but you will also have to Face the displeasure of His Highness Prince Yong, won't you!"

The Emperor couldn't help but snort coldly, "You don't need to answer to Prince Yong for anything. Release him. If he gives you any trouble, I will personally intercede for you!"

Jiang Yuan sneered, "Intercede? I'm afraid Your Majesty's Face isn't enough..."

The Emperor was furious, "Is Prince Yong the Emperor, or am I the Emperor? You listen to him and not to me—are you trying to rebel?"

Jiang Yuan curled his lips, disdainfully saying, "I dare not. I cannot bear the label of rebellion, but I also cannot bear the wrath of His Highness Prince Yong. I ask Your Majesty to forgive my disrespect!"

Having reached this point, Tang Ku knew that this so-called Great General had almost completely disregarded the young Emperor before him. After saying this, he intended to escort Hassan and take his soldiers away, his arrogance evident for all to see.

"Jiang Yuan, you are bold!"

The young Emperor was furious and pointed at Jiang Yuan, about to punish him, but the Old Prime Minister beside him tugged at his sleeve, signaling him to calm down.

The young Emperor's anger had not yet subsided, and he was so furious that his Face turned pale. However, he knew in his heart that now was not the time to completely break with Prince Yong, yet he was truly unwilling to swallow this insult!

"Heh, I'm tired of watching this play..."

A voice rang out in everyone's ears, and immediately after, a moon-white figure swept past Jiang Yuan like a gale. Jiang Yuan suddenly felt his grip loosen. By the time he regained his senses, the person in his hands had already disappeared. Looking up, he discovered that Hassan was already standing, dazed, beside the bald man.

Jiang Yuan knew this must be the other party's doing, but he hadn't seen at all what method they had used.

"Damn it, that bald donkey, return the person..."

As he spoke, Jiang Yuan drew his sword to strike, but unexpectedly, before his voice had even faded, he felt the steel blade in his hand vibrate. Immediately following that were two "slap" sounds, and he felt his cheeks instantly disappear, followed by a wave of numbness and sharp pain...

To others, the scene was that Tang Ku suddenly vanished, appeared before the Great General Jiang Yuan, extended two fingers to snap the seemingly powerful divine weapon in his hand, then casually slapped him twice before leisurely returning to his original spot.

His movements were fast, yet clear enough for everyone to see, except for the victim, Jiang Yuan, who had no idea.

With just two slaps, Jiang Yuan's entire Face swelled up like a Pig Head. After being stunned for two seconds, he clutched his Face and began to wail like a stuck pig.

Everyone was dumbfounded in that instant!

"Seemingly slow yet actually fast, lifting the heavy as if it were light..."

The Old Prime Minister was horrified, "Even I could not possess such power... This... this monk actually has such formidable strength? He is likely on par with the Buddhas of the Buddhist sect from long ago..."

"Sluo-te, li-men... li-men gei wu shua luo-te... uh..."

The frantic and furious Jiang Yuan's garbled speech cut off abruptly because he now saw Tang Ku standing before him, smiling, watching him. He still hadn't seen how Tang Ku had appeared in front of him.

"Your Majesty the Emperor says I am a friend, and I cannot refuse to give him Face. So, those two slaps just now were merely to teach you for your insolence. If you dare to act up again... heh, I might just have to punch you to death, monk that I am, to spare you from making noise here and dirtying people's ears! Do you understand?"

Tang Ku was all smiles, but Jiang Yuan read intense killing intent in his eyes.

"He really dares to kill me here in the imperial city..."

Jiang Yuan's heart was in his throat. He just wanted to spout a few harsh words and flee, but suddenly meeting Tang Ku's gaze, he experienced a momentary lapse in consciousness. Immediately after, a sharp pain erupted in his abdomen... and then he knew nothing more... Well, in fact, he would never know anything ever again.

"Forget it, I can't be bothered to say more to an idiot like you... You're better off dead..."

When Tang Ku withdrew his fist, a huge hole appeared in Jiang Yuan's chest, and surprisingly, not a single drop of blood flowed out. It wasn't until he collapsed to the ground that blood began to gush out, staining a large patch of the floor red.

"Murder... murder... murder!"

Among the soldiers Jiang Yuan had brought, the leading captain of the guard was stunned for a moment, then immediately took the lead in running outside. With a chaotic clatter, the entire inn was thrown into disarray in an instant.

The Emperor and the Old Prime Minister were already dumbfounded, looking at the scene before them, completely at a loss.

"This... honored guest... this... this was Prince Yong's, my uncle's, top general... You... you actually... actually killed him? This... this is a capital offense!"

The Old Prime Minister stammered.

After being terrified for a moment, the young Emperor actually felt a sense of gratification in his heart.

This Jiang Yuan had been insolent to him, already committing the crime of deceiving the Emperor, for which even exterminating his clan would not have been excessive. Yet, because of Prince Yong, he had been forced to swallow his pride before a minor general. Now that Tang Ku had punched this petty person to death, he was truly incomparably happy; he hadn't been this happy in a very long time.

"Heh, just as your Emperor said, in this country of yours, is Prince Yong the Emperor, or is he the Emperor?"

Tang Xian said disdainfully, "What's there to be afraid of? My brother and I can just kill him for you, right? You, old man, hurry up and lead the way... Forget it, I'll go find someone else to ask. It won't take much effort anyway!"

As he spoke, he wiped his belt, and suddenly a pure black chain without a hint of reflection appeared in his hand. The captain of the guard who had been running away had just reached the door of the inn. He flicked his hand, and the chain flew out instantly, and when it returned, it had already bound the captain of the guard, throwing him heavily before them.

Tang Xian said to Tang Ku, "Let's go. Let's clean up the mess for this Emperor first, then we can talk about other things!"

Tang Ku nodded, then he and Tang Xian grabbed the guard captain, stepped on Moonwalk, and disappeared before their eyes with a rumble.

"Wait... wait... I... I will lead the way for you... I will lead the way for you!"

The young Emperor whirled out the door like a gust of wind, shouting at the sky, "I'll lead the way for you..."

The Old Prime Minister had black lines on his forehead, holding his forehead, and smiled helplessly, "What are you so excited about? Are you afraid that others won't know you want to kill your uncle?"
