17: The Impulsive Third Prince
“My grand vow: Hell will not be empty, I swear I will not become a Buddha!”
The Power Of Will binds even gods and Buddhas; this is a Law that cannot be changed!
However, a strange glint flashed in Tang Ku’s eyes, and he then clasped his hands together towards the enormous Qiongqi body and said, “Then I understand. Hmm, please rest assured, you will see the day when Hell is empty!”
“So what should we do next?”
Nezha asked the most pertinent question of the day.
“You will know once you leave the Netherworld!”
Ksitigarbha’s voice said, “In less than half a quarter of an hour, you will return directly to Fengdu, which is above the Eighteen Levels of Hell. This is limited by the operating mechanism here; even the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors would have to follow it! Don’t worry, my soul is very safe here; those evil Prodigies won’t find this place… Hmm, it’s almost time. You must take care; the path ahead… will be very difficult…”
The scene before them instantly blurred. The three only felt Ksitigarbha’s voice become increasingly hollow, like shouting in a basin, making their minds feel disoriented.
In the blink of an eye, the three were already standing in the Great Hall of Yama!
“Alright, the three of us are still completely bewildered. Speaking of which, Holy Monk, why do you people of Buddhism like to speak in riddles so much? Wouldn’t it be better to just speak plainly?”
Nezha asked helplessly.
“Amitabha, at least Poor Monk doesn’t like it!”
Tang Ku pouted and said, “Since he said that we’ll know what to do once we return to the Human Realm, let’s go back and try it first!”
Yang Jian put away his Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade and gave a helpless bitter smile: “I never expected that Great Master is not from this world… I am truly curious, what is the world you came from like?”
“We can talk about that slowly. My memory is still primarily based on my previous life. As for Tang Sanzang and Golden Cicada… Hmm, although according to Ksitigarbha, we are actually the same person, I always feel a bit awkward. Speaking of Reincarnation, does even a person’s personality constantly change?”
“This… My previous life was a spiritual pearl. Although I had sentience, my memories were vague, so I can’t give you an answer!” Nezha said, “Second Brother has never been Reincarnated either, so he knows even less! When you have free time, you can ponder it yourself!”
As he spoke, the three had already walked into the passage connecting the Netherworld to the Human Realm.
Though called a passage, it was actually like a tunnel made of energy, similar to the Rainbow Bridge in Marvel. As the three walked into it, they were enveloped by a kaleidoscope of colors, and in a flash, they arrived at a location in the Human Realm.
The Netherworld connects to the Human Realm through several fixed nodes, and the most commonly used place is at the foot of Mount Tai. Among the Five Great Emperors, Emperor Huang Feihu of Mount Tai is the deity in charge of matters connecting the Netherworld and the Human Realm, so this passage is the most frequently used.
“Sigh, I really don’t want to go to that ghostly place again!”
Nezha recalled the scenes of the Eighteen Levels of Hell, saying with lingering fear.
“You’re right, that truly is a ‘ghostly’ place, because living people simply can’t enter it!”
Tang Ku said helplessly, “Third Prince, True Monarch, we have nothing else to do right now, but wandering like this is not a solution. We need a place to settle down!”
“Why don’t you come with me to Guanjiang Estuary? At least I have a place to stay there!” Yang Jian thought for a moment, then said, “The world Great Master came from should be very knowledgeable about what is called sci… the Dao of technology. We also want to know what level this so-called technological power can reach!”
Tang Ku nodded and led the two flying upwards. However, upon reaching halfway up the mountain, a warning sign suddenly arose in Tang Ku’s heart. Nezha and Erlang Shen almost simultaneously looked towards the northeast. Suddenly, the pupils of all three constricted at almost the same time, and they then rapidly dodged in different directions.
A crimson stream of light brushed past the three of them and shot towards Mount Tai behind them.
Immediately following was an earth-shattering roar accompanied by a thunderous boom…
Boom!
The three were in mid-air, thrown about by the shockwave of the explosion. The violent winds stirred up by the raging energy spread for dozens of miles, and the enormous sound ripped through the sky, making all living beings within a hundred-mile radius dizzy and disoriented.
“Holy crap, what kind of thing has that much power? A cruise missile?”
Tang Ku looked back in shock, only to find that the entire peak of Mount Tai had been forcefully shaved off by four or five hundred meters, making it a whole section shorter!
“I don’t know what you mean by a cruise missile…” Nezha, however, looked towards the direction from which the stream of light came, gnashing his teeth and sneering coldly, “But that thing just now was clearly my father’s Magic Treasure, the Zhentian Arrow!”
Tang Ku was startled. Before he could react, Nezha had already rushed out first, roaring, “Prodigy, give me back my mother’s life…”
Bang!
Nezha’s speed, even without his Wind Fire Wheels, was still fast, so fast that Yang Jian and Tang Ku couldn’t stop him in time.
“Alright, this guy is thousands of years old and still so impulsive…”
Tang Ku truly gave a bitter smile this time. There was nothing he could do. Now, they could only follow and see who had released such a powerful Magic Treasure. From the looks of it, it was aimed at killing them.
Boom!
A blazing, fiery light exploded in the sky. Nezha had already exchanged a fierce punch with a bald, muscular man, and behind him, a woman in a red dress stood in mid-air, holding a huge longbow, sneering as she watched the two fight. Behind her was a large group of former Heavenly Soldiers and Generals.
“Good Prodigy, you’ve finally shown yourself!”
Yang Jian felt completely different powers emanating from the man and woman, and immediately understood what had happened. He rushed towards the woman like a meteor, his Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade emitting a strong radiance. A deep blue Saber Qi fiercely slashed towards the woman.
The woman was startled. The longbow in her hand vibrated slightly, and an arc of light flew out, shattering the Saber Qi. At that moment, Yang Jian had already reached the woman’s side. The two clashed, and instantly, they fought until the sky was dark and the sun and moon lost their light.
Tang Ku, who arrived last, looked at the scene before him and couldn’t help but click his tongue, saying, “Am I destined to only deal with cannon fodder?”
Yang Jian’s combat power was high, and Nezha was truly not weak either; all his combat data was only slightly lower than his. These two were beyond what the current Tang Ku could compare to.
And the two opponents, who were fighting them to a standstill, indicated that their strength was also not weak. In other words, if the current Tang Ku were to face these two, he would only be courting death!
However…
Tang Ku, however, revealed a slight smile, “However, my Iron Fist Points haven’t been used yet!”
