314: The Madman and the Monk

"Hmm, so this so-called high priest is the legendary Desert Fox, that Erwin Rommel!"

Everything happening before his eyes was taken in by Tang Ku. He had been hiding in the sky, watching this direction for a long time!

"If the power in Rommel's body was truly given by Adolf, then he would certainly not have so easily transferred all his power to him without reservation!"

Tang Ku thought to himself, "Adolf is a guy who values power more than his own life; how could he possibly have no protective measures in place? It's pathetic that this Desert Fox has turned into a 'Silly Fox,' failing to see even this. How did he manage to win battle after battle? His Blitzkrieg tactics were no joke!"

Just as he was thinking this, Adolf in the reception room gave him the answer.

He slowly placed his hand on Rommel's shoulder and smiled indifferently: "You have no idea what power is, just as you do not know what authority is. There is a saying in Huaxia: 'Bewildering flowers dazzle the eyes.' When you hold power that does not belong to you, you will fail to see the essence of things, and you will become hopelessly immersed in the desire for power... Actually, with your intelligence, you should have thought of this. Since I could give you power, I can take it back at any time!"

A deep blue light shone at the point where they touched. In just a few dozen seconds, Rommel withered away, his complexion turning pale to the naked eye. His body shuddered, and he collapsed to the ground, unable to speak.

The soldiers outside the door heard the commotion and were about to rush in to check the situation, but they saw Xiao Huzi's eyes flash with red light once again, and those soldiers stood back in their original positions just like Puppets.

This scene made Tang Ku's scalp tingle.

"This kind of power to bewitch people's hearts seems even more terrifying than substantive combat power. I wonder if there is a limit to his ability, how large a range it can cover, how long it can last, how many people it can control, and how strong the people he can control are..."

Killing Intent surged in Tang Ku's eyes. "A guy like this... cannot be left alive!"

Adolf squatted beside Rommel and gently patted his cheek, saying, "I have left you a little power; this power is enough for you to open the Doomsday Fortress. This is the dignity I leave for you. You must know how to be grateful, because this is my final mercy toward you. If you still think of betraying me, then I'm sorry. Having followed me for so long, you should know my methods for dealing with traitors!"

Rommel finally managed to catch his breath. He glared at Adolf for a long time, and finally, full of unwillingness, had to submit: "I... I understand!"

"Hmm, that's very good..." Adolf patted his cheek and smiled, "I need to go out again to get more people involved in the construction of this city. Once the Doomsday Fortress takes shape, I will credit you with a great achievement!"

Rommel's expression was somewhat dull. Watching Adolf swagger out the door, a bitter smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.

"I've been manipulated for two lifetimes... and in this life, it's still so miserable!"

Rommel could only resign himself to his fate, closing his eyes and lying on the ground like a corpse.

Tang Ku naturally wouldn't care what this guy was doing; in fact, he had long been following far behind Adolf as he left.

This Adolf was indeed not simple. Relying solely on that power of bewitchment from before, he could move freely throughout the entire imperial palace. Now that he had retrieved his own power, it was like adding wings to a tiger. His movement speed was astonishingly fast, truly like a bolt of lightning, weaving back and forth through the crowd. His control was clearly even stronger; there wasn't even a trace of sound, light, or electricity, making his movements even more concealed.

Fortunately, Tang Ku's Void Eye could see through all things in the world, which allowed him to keep up with his speed and track him all the way. If it were an ordinary person, in the blink of an eye, the man might have disappeared.

Adolf arrived at a luxurious villa in the inner city... though calling it a villa was only in comparison to these people now; in fact, it was just a two-story building with a garden in the back. Of course, out of his own habits, he had also set up a swimming pool for himself in the back. Overall, this house looked like an extremely extravagant wealthy family's home.

The room was not particularly large, but it contained many modern devices, and even some electrical appliances appeared easily in his room, such as electric lights. However, Tang Ku did not know what the source of his electricity was.

Adolf walked into the empty room, closed the door, took off his shoes and threw them aside as usual, then lay on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling.

After a while, he picked up a photo frame from the side, looking at the beautiful woman in the frame, muttering to himself.

After another while, he jumped up again, shouting in German at various corners of the room, as if he were giving a speech to many people...

After shouting wildly for a long time, he suddenly went crazy, lifting a sofa weighing over a hundred jin and smashing it against the wall as if throwing trash, then jumping up and down and roaring.

His behavior was abnormal, as if he were a madman with nowhere to vent his frustrations.

"How... after finally living again, have I actually turned into a madman?"

A cold voice seemed to ring in his ear, which made Adolf instantly calm down.

"Who are you?"

In the room, a bald monk wearing monk robes was looking at him expressionlessly, his eyes seemingly carrying Killing Intent as well.

"I am the person who has come to take your life!"

Tang Ku said indifferently.

"I have no grudge against Your Excellency, why do you want to kill me?" Adolf said with a calm expression, "Could it be that I offended someone in the Central Plains, and you were sent by them to take my life?"

"It has nothing to do with others, nor does it have to do with grievances. I came to kill you only because you are Adolf Hitler!" Tang Ku held up one finger, power gathering at his fingertip.

Adolf was no longer as calm as before and said in a deep voice: "In this world, there is actually someone who knows who I am? Who on earth are you?"

Tang Ku slowly approached Hitler and said in a calm tone: "I know you may find it hard to understand, but it doesn't matter. Once you are dead, you will no longer have such confusion."

"Heh, just because of this name, you want to kill me?" Adolf narrowed his eyes and said, "The Buddhist sect has always been reasonable in its actions, but your words make no sense at all!"

Tang Ku said in a deep voice: "Your name represents war and chaos. You will bring unparalleled disaster to this world. This can be seen from what you are doing now, so... I do not need to give you any explanation..."

With one finger pointed out, it went straight for Adolf's forehead. His body was not strong; as long as it hit, he would surely die.

However, Tang Ku's finger had no tactile sensation; he did not feel the slightest sensation of touching a solid object.

The Adolf before his eyes... disappeared.
