670: Perseverance Competition

"Ah... that Pig Head, get out here! Get out here now! I'm going to hack you to death, hack you to death!"

Carol carried that massive saber, larger than a person, rampaging through the great forest.

He was about to be driven mad by that pig-headed fellow!

Ever since he had followed him, that guy had vanished, and then he had gotten lost in this forest. To make matters worse, he had actually lost the ability to fly within this forest!

That's right, he didn't know if there was some kind of Formation here or what, but even when he channeled his Law, he couldn't fly at all.

And that Pig Head kept popping out of nowhere every now and then to take a cheap shot at him. Although the attack power didn't seem very strong, these repeated harassments had finally infuriated him!

He swung his massive saber wildly, sending golden Saber Qi flying everywhere, destroying the entire forest. Yet, even after all the towering trees were cut down, he still hadn't found the figure of that Pig Head.

However, while he was raging helplessly, the entire forest returned to its original state in the blink of an eye.

That's right, just like when he first entered, there wasn't the slightest change.

In other words, the forest he had exhausted himself destroying hadn't suffered even the slightest bit of damage!

Old Pig started playing hide-and-seek with this guy again, employing various sneak attack methods, pushing Carol to the brink of madness once more.

However, although this guy was slow-witted and hot-tempered, he wasn't a fool. In fact, if Pigsy hadn't provoked him so severely, he would have been able to figure out his situation.

"The opponent deliberately tricked me into this forest... Damn it, how could I have fallen for such a trap..."

Holding his breath and concentrating, Carol finally calmed down. He looked around, suddenly narrowed his eyes, and sneered, "Hmph, you only know how to play these little tricks. Do you dare to come out and face me head-on?"

Knowing it was a provocation, Old Pig still slowly revealed his form. Looking at Carol, he couldn't help but scoff, "Actually, even if you hadn't provoked me, I was planning to come out and fight you... because that method just now isn't very effective against you anymore!"

"Glad you know that!"

Carol chuckled coldly, "I can feel that your aura is no worse than mine. You must be a prominent expert on Earth, right? Playing these little tricks is so boring; it's better to have a fair and square fight..."

Swish!

As soon as he finished speaking, two figures suddenly collided violently in the center. Actually, both of them had the same idea; as the saying goes, "he who strikes first gains the advantage." Both wanted to attack while the other was slightly negligent, but unexpectedly, their thoughts were similar and perfectly aligned in an instant. Consequently, their attacks collided, their weapons hummed, and the shockwave tore the core area of the forest into pieces, clearing a huge open space with a radius of a thousand meters.

Pigsy had already transformed into his combat form by now, standing half a head taller than the Carol before him. The two of them were like prehistoric beasts, trading blows head-on in this open space for over a dozen rounds.

"Hahaha, so satisfying! Your strength is clearly evenly matched with mine. If you use those methods again, I will look down on you!"

Carol laughed happily.

"Heh, no need for you to look down on me; in fact, I've always looked down on you. After all, to us, you are just a bunch of invaders. But now, I have a new respect for you; after all, there aren't many warriors left who dare to fight head-on!"

Old Pig chuckled, "Give it your all. Let me see what your Law power really is!"

Hum!

Carol shouted, "As you wish..."

He swung the massive saber in his hand, lightly grazing his wrist. A flash of blood appeared, and blood gushed out, spraying over his body. Unexpectedly, this blood flowed slowly over him, instantly evolving into countless strange runes. The wound on his wrist also healed in an instant, stopping the bleeding.

"This is a variant of the Power Law. I call it the Berserk Law!"

Carol's eyes turned blood-red, but his muscles appeared much leaner than before. The strange red runes on his body suddenly changed, transforming into a totem resembling lightning.

"A word of warning: in this state, all my strength will increase several times over from its original base. Plus, injuries will heal automatically, and my energy is inexhaustible. Unless I voluntarily exit this state, the battle will continue indefinitely!"

Carol's body began to twitch, as if he were losing control of himself. "Of course, my consciousness will become increasingly blurred as the battle progresses, and eventually, I will fight entirely on berserk instinct. Of course, if you have the ability to kill me, then I will truly stop..."

Hum... Boom!

He kicked off the ground, causing a sound similar to a grenade explosion. The spot where he had been standing suddenly collapsed, and his massive figure was already beside Pigsy, slashing down fiercely at his head with his saber.

"Domain... Boundary Law!"

Hum!

A light rose from Pigsy's body, enveloping him completely before disappearing. The opponent's saber strike happened to land right on his head...

Clang!

The steel saber was instantly deflected, and the terrifying Saber Qi splattered everywhere. Some of it even rebounded back toward Carol, but Carol didn't dodge or evade. It was as if he had taken a dozen slashes head-on, covering his whole body in blood instantly, but he showed no intention of backing down. Instead, he excitedly hacked away at Old Pig even more ferociously.

That's right, no fancy moves were needed, because the injuries on his body simply couldn't make him fall, especially with the automatic recovery function.

Thus, a protracted defensive battle began. One attacking, one defending—direct, simple, pure, without a single trace of trickery. This kind of battle could only have one outcome: whichever side couldn't hold on first would be the one to fall. There was no trickery involved; it was purely a test of strength!

Muffled thunder rolled, and the whole world seemed to be trapped in endless tremors. This forest was destroyed dozens of times by the aftermath of their battle, and Carol was like a machine that didn't know the meaning of fatigue, attacking Pig Wuneng crazily.

No one knew when the battle between these two would be decided.

No one knew how long this battle lasted, until a bolt of lightning slanted across the sky, and the two figures finally separated.

From extreme motion to extreme stillness—this was the state of the two within the span of an hour.

"This is the limit of human strength!"

Old Pig suddenly stepped forward, his face full of exhaustion, and said in a deep voice, "In the end, my perseverance was superior..."

Carol's body trembled violently; he could no longer speak.

After all, this style of combat could not be without some depletion; even a true Saint did not have infinite energy.
