218: Tang Sanzang defeats Sha Wujing three times
Pigsy was completely bewildered. He had no idea how that roast lamb had been made; it was truly baffling.
Because, as he had said, Sha Wujing was never a glutton. Since following Tang Sanzang, he had not even touched a morsel of meat. Why, then, had he been drawn over by the scent of roast lamb?
Moreover, he had spent years living in the water; there was no way the scent could have traveled directly through the river.
"How strange, truly bizarre..."
Although confused, Pigsy knew this was not the time to dwell on such things. He held his breath and focused, carefully observing Sha Wujing's movements.
At this moment, Sha Monk remained expressionless. He looked left and right, quickly spotting the roast lamb on the rack. In the firelight, the lamb glistened with oil, golden and truly tempting. Especially when paired with that scent that drifted for miles, it finally made Sha Wujing, driven only by instinct, salivate. He strode toward the roast lamb.
He did not even mind the heat; he grabbed the whole roast lamb and took a bite, chewing until his mouth was covered in grease, even grinding the bones to pieces and swallowing them.
Hiding in the bushes, Pigsy was driven nearly mad with craving. He thought to himself, "Junior Brother Sha is truly unkind; he didn't even think to leave me a bite..."
With Sha Wujing's physique, eating this roast lamb was a matter of mere minutes. In the blink of an eye, aside from the head, he had devoured everything, bones and meat alike. Finally, he began to gnaw on the remaining head in a leisurely manner...
"Hmm, it seems it wasn't a simple matter that my few Clones were able to leave their skulls behind back then, because he simply doesn't like eating skulls..." Tang Ku smiled bitterly, feeling helpless.
Over there, Zen Master Wuchao chuckled and raised his right hand, waving it at Tang Ku. Tang Ku immediately understood and said to Pigsy, "I will go cut off his retreat. When I give the signal, you charge in with me!"
Pigsy was nearly going crazy. That delicious roast whole lamb had been eaten up, and he couldn't help but feel angry, secretly resolving, "This time, I must not let him get off easily..."
As he spoke, his rake was already in hand. Over there, Tang Ku's figure flashed, and he appeared by the Liusha River, rushing toward Sha Wujing's back like a gust of wind.
Unexpectedly, it was as if Sha Wujing had eyes in the back of his head; he suddenly raised his zen staff and swept it horizontally at Tang Ku behind him.
"Hmm, is this that beast-like intuition? Truly extraordinary..."
Clang!
Tang Ku blocked the blow with his arms, his body recoiling more than three steps, but there were no injuries on his arms. He felt relieved, knowing that with Sha Wujing's current attack power, it would not be easy to hurt him, so he immediately rushed in to attack again.
By now, even an animal would know it had truly been tricked. He couldn't help but look furious, throwing away the half-eaten sheep's head and brandishing his zen staff to fight Tang Ku.
Seeing his fierce momentum, Tang Ku whistled. Pigsy immediately received the signal. His bulky body was surprisingly agile; he leaped into the air, holding the rake in one hand, while grabbing the remaining half of the sheep's head in mid-air with the other. He took a bite before throwing it aside and charged at Sha Wujing, brandishing his rake.
Seeing that this guy still hadn't forgotten to eat at such a critical moment, Tang Ku couldn't help but feel torn between laughter and tears, but fortunately, he hadn't missed the opportunity to fight, so he let it pass.
With the two attacking him, Sha Wujing immediately felt the pressure and was intent on escaping toward the Liusha River, but unexpectedly, Tang Ku's combat strength was surprisingly tenacious, leaving him no gaps at all.
Although Sha Wujing was left only with instinct, a large part of it was combat instinct. He knew that if he wanted to escape from these two powerful enemies, he had to take them by surprise. Suddenly, his brow flashed, and one hundred Flying Swords appeared beside him, stabbing blindly at Tang Ku in front of him.
Tang Ku chuckled, intending to take the hit with his body, but unexpectedly, these Flying Swords suddenly turned in mid-air, flying toward the back of a large rock nearby. Taking a closer look, it turned out that Zen Master Wuchao was pointing the mouth of his gourd in this direction, and all those Flying Swords were sucked into the gourd.
Sha Wujing was stunned, then immediately let out a furious roar. He waved his right hand, and a massive current of water suddenly surged from the Liusha River, sweeping toward him. Then, following his movements, it transformed into sharp, awl-like blades and charged at Tang Ku.
However, this current of water suddenly turned in mid-air, flying once again toward the mouth of Zen Master Wuchao's gourd.
"Hehe, come again, come again. This gourd of mine could even hold the entire Liusha River..."
Zen Master Wuchao chuckled, patting the body of the gourd.
Pigsy was amused and said to Zen Master Wuchao with a smile, "You Old Monk really do have some skills..."
Over there, Tang Ku couldn't help but pout, then charged at Sha Wujing again. As the saying goes, times are different now; under the water, he couldn't even exert fifty percent of his full strength, but now on land, Sha Wujing could not withstand the force of his ordinary attacks alone. Seeing that no matter how Sha Wujing swung his zen staff, he could not break through Tang Ku's defense, and instead got punched a few times in the gaps, those fists looked small but were truly powerful, hitting him until his ribs were nearly collapsing. The intense pain assaulted his brain, and he realized that this bald monk in front of him was powerful and he was definitely no match for him; returning to the Liusha River was the only superior strategy.
However, Pigsy was behind him, so he couldn't even bypass him to retreat. He felt extremely annoyed, regretting that he shouldn't have been gluttonous and come ashore, so he had to brandish his zen staff and struggle to hold on.
At this moment, Zen Master Wuchao walked out from behind the large rock, patting the gourd and laughing, "Alright, alright, that's enough..."
Tang Ku and Pigsy were confused, but then they saw Sha Wujing's body sway suddenly, as if he couldn't stand steadily. Tang Ku darted back a few steps. Pigsy's rake had already smashed down, but halfway through, Old Pig flipped the rake over and wedged the blunt, curved part of the rake onto the back of his head.
Tang Ku couldn't help but have a change of opinion about Pigsy; this guy actually knew what he was doing, knowing that the one in front of him was his Junior Brother, and he hadn't used excessive force.
However, even so, Sha Wujing was left dizzy and disoriented by the blow, his steps staggering as if he were drunk.
"Hmm?"
Pigsy instantly retracted his rake and backed away, looking surprised and suspicious, "Why do I feel like I didn't hit him that hard?"
Tang Ku immediately understood something and looked at Zen Master Wuchao, saying, "Could it be the Zen Master's wine?"
"Hehe, exactly, exactly!"
Zen Master Wuchao walked forward with a chuckle, saying, "The wine you drank and the one sprayed on the roast lamb are two different kinds. One is a fine vintage from the human world, the Hundred Fruit Wine, while the other is the 'Thousand-Day Drunk' left behind by the Wine Immortal Liu Ling and brewed by the Wine Ancestor Du Kang!"
As he was speaking, Sha Wujing had already been waving his zen staff wildly, and then he collapsed onto the ground, falling into a deep sleep!
