22: God

“I’m not an idiot!”

The man named Miso across from him sneered, “You’re so clever, yet you were captured and made a guide. My brain can’t compare to yours. What if you colluded with these people to covet the Divine Lord’s position?”

“Nonsense!”

Linglong Zi sneered, “The Divine Lord is my Revered Master. If I wanted to replace him, I would only need him to advance a Realm further. Why would I resort to such methods? As for you, the Divine Lord clearly instructed me to bring that survivor from the Western Buddhist Realm to see him. Now that I’ve brought these people, you’re blocking the way. Are you trying to steal credit? It seems you’ve forgotten the power of the Divine Lord’s Immortal Demon Prison!”

“Hmph, I’m not interested in stealing your credit…” Miso glanced at the monk and suddenly laughed, “I just purely feel that for you to be beaten like this by such a common fellow is truly an embarrassment to the Divine Lord!”

Bang!

Boom!

Miso’s figure suddenly retreated. A huge pit was punched into the ground in front of him, with countless cracks radiating outwards, looking as if the entire mountain was about to collapse.

“Amitabha, benefactor, please watch your words. If you say anything about ‘common fellow’ again, the next punch might land on your head!”

Tang Ku smiled as he looked at Miso.

Cold sweat continuously dripped from Miso’s forehead. If he hadn’t dodged quickly just now, his head would probably be gone!

“This monk is not to be trifled with. No wonder he’s the only one who survived from the Western Buddhist Realm!”

Miso said with lingering fear.

Linglong Zi gloated mockingly, “If you’re so brave, don’t dodge!”

“Hmph, the Divine Lord had already calculated that you would come… You… hehe, take care of yourself!”

Miso snorted coldly and moved aside, clearing the way.

Tang Ku very humanely retracted the jinlan kasaya and draped it over himself. Linglong Zi turned back and said, “You three, it’s still not too late to regret it now!”

“Regret what?”

Tang Ku smiled faintly, “Didn’t your companion say it? Your Divine Lord has been waiting for us for a long time… Hmm, you should know that you are just a tool now. Perhaps his sending you out to perform some task was just a ruse, just to get you to bring us back?”

Linglong Zi was startled, then walked inside without a word.

This grand hall resembled ancient Greece architecture, vastly different from palaces in the land of Huaxia. Thick pillars stood on both sides, and directly opposite was a wide throne.

From the entrance to the throne, it was only about two hundred steps. Logically, with Tang Ku’s cultivation, the three of them should have been able to clearly see the figure on the throne as soon as they entered the hall.

However, all they could see was a blur, vaguely sensing that there should be a person on the throne, but they couldn’t make out the person’s form or appearance at all!

“Holy Monk… do you feel an inexplicable pressure suppressing our magic power?”

Yang Jian suddenly asked using a secret voice transmission technique.

Tang Ku was stunned. He couldn’t use voice transmission, so he could only shake his head, indicating that he didn’t feel it.

Nezha also frowned, looking around. He could feel waves of pressure seemingly emanating from the entire space, falling upon him, or rather, pressing down on the true Qi within his body.

Then, he was startled and said in a low voice, “My true Qi is disappearing little by little…”

Yang Jian fell silent, then stopped. This feeling wasn’t so obvious at the entrance, but the further they walked in, the more they felt it.

True Qi is the energy within a Cultivator’s body. Whether it’s an ordinary Cultivator or an Immortal of any Realm, their inherent source of power is true Qi.

If the true Qi within the body disappears, then most Immortals or demon Cultivators would all become lambs to the slaughter.

Of course, those with extremely strong physical strength, such as Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, and Nezha with his special Physique, would still have combat power even without true Qi, though it would be greatly weakened.

Tang Ku also stopped, turned back and said, “You two wait for me outside. It’s too dangerous for you here!”

“Holy Monk, what about you?” Yang Jian asked worriedly.

“Yeah, we’re both suppressed so much, can you do it alone?”

Nezha said.

“I seem to… not feel the suppression of true Qi you mentioned… Hmm, maybe a little, because Western Buddha Power is also a type of true Qi, but it’s not a big problem for me!”

Tang Ku said, “Don’t worry, if there’s any problem, I’ll call you for help!”

Yang Jian immediately understood Tang Ku’s meaning and nodded, motioning for Nezha to withdraw first.

“Hehe, why aren’t you moving forward? Are you perhaps scared? If you’re scared, leave as soon as possible. It’ll be too late if you try to leave later!”

Linglong Zi sneered.

“You just wait, you’ll have a day when you come out!” Nezha pouted and sneered disdainfully.

“Hmph, sharp-tongued!”

Linglong Zi looked at Tang Ku and said, “Since they don’t dare to leave, are you still going to continue?”

“Didn’t your so-called Divine Lord want to see me?” Tang Ku said, “In fact, I also want to see what kind of person this fellow who intends to occupy the Three Realms looks like!”

“Then let’s go!”

Linglong Zi said no more, but turned and continued to walk inside.

As the throne drew closer, the oppressive feeling in the air grew stronger. It seemed the other party wasn’t hiding his power at all. Tang Ku finally felt the Buddha Power within his body slowly dissipating, as if some external force was invading his body, grinding away at the energy little by little.

However, he didn’t feel any significant change in his own power.

“Perhaps the main source of my strength is given by the System, so it won’t be worn away… Hmm, I understand…”

Squinting his eyes, Tang Ku finally reached a spot less than five meters in front of the throne.

The person in front of him was tall, wearing a golden battle armor, but this armor wasn’t entirely golden; it also had some black and red patterns mixed in, making it look both majestic and somewhat eerie.

However, the style of this golden battle armor, no matter how he looked at it, felt familiar.

He still couldn't see the face clearly, but Tang Ku could feel that the power emanating from this fellow was completely different from the System of the entire Journey to the West world.

And it was this power that was devouring the Buddha Power in his body, and the true Qi in Nezha and Yang Jian’s bodies was also being worn away by this power!

“You are the sole survivor of the Western Buddhist Realm?”

The person opposite slowly rose from the throne. His height was at least one meter ninety, even close to two meters.

Generally speaking, people of this height would always have some disproportionate areas in their bodies, but he was different. His body lines were beautiful, as if a person of one meter seventy or eighty had been proportionally enlarged by one size. He neither appeared overly burly nor too thin, like a statue carved according to the golden ratio.

“Amitabha, it is Poor Monk!” Tang Ku clasped his hands and bowed, “You are that so-called Divine Lord? Hehe, I heard you’re quite interested in me? Coincidentally, Poor Monk is also very interested in the person who has thrown the entire Three Realms into chaos! Speak, what is your purpose in coming to this world? Why did you exterminate so many living beings in the Three Realms?”

“Hehe, so you think I am the culprit who invaded this world?”

The person on the throne slowly walked down, revealing a face comparable to a woman’s, and smiled faintly, “You are mistaken. I am merely an enforcer!”
