54: The scumbag Tang Sanzang

The light scent of milk slowly poured into Tang Ku's mouth; his head felt heavy and muddled.

He knew he had been unconscious for a long time, and his five senses were slowly recovering at a snail's pace during this period.

And the first to recover was his sense of taste!

In the dimness, he always felt some strange liquid food slipping into his mouth; sometimes it was the fragrance of rice, sometimes the scent of milk, and other times the aroma of chicken soup or the taste of seafood.

In short, during this time, Tang Ku knew he had eaten quite a lot of good things.

Finally, today, he woke up, slowly opening his eyes, yet feeling no discomfort.

His hearing, smell, taste, sight, and touch all fully recovered at this moment.

Suddenly sitting up, he found himself lying on a comfortable bed, surrounded by a fragrant aroma, as if countless flowers were blooming around him.

Looking around, the pink and red hues were both comforting and warming, making one's heart flutter involuntarily.

He was very familiar with this inn; he had stayed here for a long time on his pilgrimage, and even in Tang Sanzang's heart, among all the inns on the entire westward journey, this one left the deepest impression!

He was already dressed in a suitable white inner garment.

Tang Ku slowly got out of bed, stretched his limbs, and then let out a helpless bitter laugh: "I never thought I'd circle back to this place... Alas, being Tang Seng is truly not easy..."

With a creak, the door suddenly opened, and a beautiful maid entered, carrying a tray.

Seeing that Tang Ku could already get out of bed, she was startled and suddenly cried out: "Come quickly, come quickly, hurry! The Datang Yudì has woken up... Quickly go and invite the Grand Tutor..."

With that, the maid, still holding the tray, rushed out the door again, her face full of joy.

Tang Ku smiled bitterly, helplessly, and could only sit back on the bed, crossing his legs to meditate, recalling what had happened to him.

In less than fifteen minutes, he heard a flurry of footsteps outside the door, as if many people were walking down the corridor.

Tang Ku slightly opened his eyes, looked at the woman who appeared before him, and couldn't help but reveal a smile: "Grand Tutor, long time no see!"

The woman was startled upon seeing Tang Ku, then immediately bowed and said, "Xue Yumei, Grand Tutor of the Xi Liang Womens Kingdom, greets the Datang Yudì Holy Monk!"

"Grand Tutor, there's no need for such ceremony.

It's been a long time since we parted, and I never expected to be saved by you all.

Fate truly plays tricks on us.

How is Your Majesty the Queen doing now?"

Tang Ku put his palms together in return, smiling faintly.

"This... After the Holy Monk left, Your Majesty the Queen fell ill with lovesickness.

If not for a powerful female Daoist who came to our kingdom, Your Majesty would have almost passed away.

But thankfully, Your Majesty can finally see the Holy Monk again, which is truly a joyous occasion... Hmm, Holy Monk, you've been gone for several years, have you obtained the true scriptures?"

The Grand Tutor asked.

"Ill with lovesickness?"

Tang Ku looked up at the sky outside the door, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

"This matter is probably not that simple!"

"The true scriptures have been obtained, but... Alas, it's a long story..." Tang Ku replied, looking at the Grand Tutor, "Is Your Majesty in good health now?"

"Not fully recovered yet, but with Immortal Yunyu's treatment, her spirit has recovered a lot!"

The Grand Tutor replied.

Tang Ku nodded: "That's good... Hmm, my monk's robe is completely lost now.

It would be disrespectful to pay respects to the Queen.

I wonder..."

"Haha, that has already been prepared for the Holy Monk.

Come, bring the prepared monk's robe..."

...

There's actually not much to say.

Tang Ku and Tang Sanzang's personalities were not suited for overly ornate clothes, but this Grand Tutor understood human nature.

A moon-white monk's robe, not only appeared sacred and solemn but also lacked that dazzling, opulent Qi.

Paired with Tang Seng's face, which could be called peerless, he resembled a distinguished Young Master from the mortal world, making everyone in the Xi Liang Womens Kingdom unable to take their eyes off him.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Although Tang Seng had a karmic relationship here, he couldn't simply leave under such circumstances.

In truth, no one can fully explain matters of the heart.

At least in Tang Sanzang's memory, he genuinely had good feelings for this Queen.

However, this good feeling could not completely replace Tang Sanzang's desire to obtain the true scriptures and save all sentient beings.

Yet, it's important to know that with Tang Seng's firm Zen heart, even if he had stayed in this Xi Liang Womens Kingdom, full of beauties, for a year or two, he wouldn't have developed any evil thoughts.

So why did he need to leave so hastily, as if fleeing, with his disciples?

Ultimately, our Holy Monk brother was truly afraid.

He was afraid that his Zen heart wasn't firm enough, and that he would truly make a marriage pact with the Queen, which would render his decades of cultivation useless.

Therefore, he had to escape, the faster the better, the farther the better.

Was Tang Sanzang a scumbag?

For the Queen of the Xi Liang Womens Kingdom, he absolutely was!

However, after such a long journey to the West, enduring countless tribulations, the first place he returned to upon reaching the human world was actually here!

Could it be that there is a predetermined fate in the unseen?

Tang Ku, following the Grand Tutor to court, thought to himself: "Now, my Buddha Power seems to have completely dissipated, but all my attribute points are still there.

However, earlier today, I accidentally crushed a teacup into powder, which means my strength hasn't disappeared either.

It's just that due to the loss of Buddha Power, my control has diminished a bit... Alas, what a pity about the Buddha's jinlan kasaya; that thing was quite a good treasure too... I wonder if the little bit of Buddha Power I cultivated this morning can be used..."

"...Holy Monk... Holy Monk?

The Queen is summoning you to the hall!"

The Grand Tutor's voice came from beside him, bringing Tang Ku back to reality.

The Grand Tutor smiled: "What is the Holy Monk thinking about? You seem so engrossed?"

"Oh, Poor Monk was thinking, after a long absence, whether Your Majesty the Queen still retains her elegance, and if Poor Monk's appearance can still please Your Majesty's Dharma Eye!"

Tang Ku quipped casually, which made the Grand Tutor show a hint of surprise.

"This monk seems a bit different from before!" the Grand Tutor thought to herself.

"Perhaps his arrival can help my sovereign regain some spirit!"

The two ascended to the Golden Hall together, where they saw an exceedingly beautiful woman seated on the Dragon throne at the front.

Although she looked much more haggard, it couldn't conceal her dignified and noble demeanor.

Tang Ku's heart stirred, and a strange ripple spread within him.

"Damn it, Tang Sanzang, that scumbag, he was truly in love back then... This is... hard to deal with!"

Tang Ku bit the tip of his tongue, but saw the Queen's eyes, filled with anticipation, flowing like autumn waves.

Tang Ku suppressed the urge to rush forward and pour out his heart, standing at the foot of the steps, hands clasped: "Poor Monk Tang Sanzang greets Your Majesty the Queen, may Your Majesty be blessed!"

The Queen was startled, her eyes revealing a hint of helplessness and disappointment, then she calmly raised a hand and said: "Holy Monk, you may rise.

I heard you have already reached the Great Thunderclap Temple in the West and have been conferred Buddhahood.

Do you still need to come here to exchange official documents?

If you do, I will have the Grand Tutor stamp them with the national seal!"

Her business-like tone revealed a hint of resentment.

Tang Ku could only shake his head helplessly, then narrowed his eyes and went straight to the point: "Poor Monk reached the West and was conferred Buddhahood, but how did Your Majesty the Queen come to know of this?"

The Queen waved her hand, her face showing fatigue, and said: "The National Preceptor informed me of everything.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have known you would have a chance to return..."

Tang Ku narrowed his eyes: "Then does Your Majesty know that your body is now gravely ill, beyond salvation even by immortals...?"
