150: Brick's Plot

The Gu Mantong is conscious; besides many of its actions being manipulated, it also possesses a certain degree of autonomy.

And now, its master had only given it the command to kill everyone in this village; the remaining methods of action were entirely up to it. It could do whatever it wanted, as long as it completed the mission!

But suddenly, it realized that without its master's guidance, its mind wasn't quite sufficient.

Because it had never encountered other magical monsters, or strong individuals who could suppress it.

Clearly, the Brick, although transformed from a "Brick," was, after all, Taishang Laojun's furnace Brick, not an ordinary Mortal object. Don't forget, any child attendant, mount, or even a single Medicinal Pill by Taishang Laojun's side could potentially develop sentience, transform into human form, and Cultivate to Immortal Ascension.

It could be said that the Brick was a natural Immortal Beast embryo, destined to achieve enlightenment sooner or later.

And what was this Gu Mantong?

It hid in the darkness every day, only to devour human flesh, blood, and souls to Cultivate. Even if it Cultivated to its peak, it would merely be someone else's Puppet Magic Treasure. Forget about achieving enlightenment; its ultimate fate was likely to be the role of a minor ghost, not even comparable to an ordinary Yin God.

The difference in status between these two was truly one in the heavens and one in the gutter!

Coupled with the Brick's abundant internal fire, which specifically countered such malevolent entities, this battle was destined for only one outcome from the very beginning.

Boom!

During the continuous pursuit, the Gu Mantong could only dodge back and forth, unable to even get close to the Brick. The Brick, at this moment, was like a fully-firing self-propelled mortar, its offensive power not only incredibly sharp but also full of sound, light, and electrical effects, as if someone was holding a lively fireworks display in the Gao family compound.

It was only because the Gu Mantong was a ghost and had no sweat glands, otherwise, it would have been drenched by now.

"What is this thing? Doesn't it ever get tired?"

The little fellow flew around chaotically, its heart filled with resentment. Suddenly, it vaguely sensed its master nearby, and couldn't help but look up sharply. Sure enough, it saw a figure suspended in the clouds above, seemingly observing its performance.

Its heart was greatly alarmed, but then, distracted, it was hit squarely in the body by a fireball and violently slammed into the wall.

Boom!

The burning pain of the flames and the impact of the energy almost made it faint. And the silly monster opposite was actually jumping up and down, clapping its front paws, looking incredibly foolish.

Its heart was filled with rage, but it was helpless. There was nothing it could do. When encountering such a clearly superior monster, the Gu Mantong's terror and power simply couldn't be unleashed.

"Don't move!"

Suddenly, its master's voice echoed in its mind. It couldn't help but look up, only to see a silver-white light, like moonlight, falling upon its body. Then, its consciousness disappeared.

"Hmm? I only know three phrases?"

The Brick suddenly felt a chill all over its body and couldn't help but turn to look. It found that an incredibly formidable Yin Qi erupted from the little monster it had blasted against the wall. The terrifying power even froze the ground within a radius of a dozen meters with a layer of white frost, and faint black Qi mixed with silver-white energy continuously radiated from the tiny monster's body.

Whoosh!

At a speed indiscernible to the naked eye, the little thing had, at some unknown point, reached the Brick's abdomen and slammed its head into his belly.

Boom!

The Brick didn't feel any physical harm, but then he shivered all over, and then rolled on the ground clutching his belly, yelling as he rolled, "Boo hoo... Run, run!"

Hearing the Brick's cry, Tang Ku already knew something bad had happened. He couldn't help but glance out of the corner of his eye and saw the little thing holding its shoulders, a mocking smile all over its face as it looked at the Brick. But at this moment, he had no time to be distracted; in his heart, he could only pray that the Brick could withstand the little thing's attack.

Of course, this attack had clearly also enraged the Brick, who hadn't erupted in a long time. The fellow scrambled to his feet, a bruised black mark on his chest, but it was quickly burned away by the flames emanating from his body. Clearly, this bit of cold Qi couldn't harm him at all.

"Alright, it's one thing for them to bully me, but even you, a little runt, are bullying me. This is truly unbearable..."

If he could speak, he might have uttered such a line.

The Brick roared, not bothering to chase the little thing, but instead stood still. A flash of fiery red light suddenly gleamed in his eyes, and then his glossy fur instantly turned red. Waves of overwhelming heat made the entire courtyard feel like it had entered a furnace. The Mortals of Gao Family Village had long been unable to bear it; after all, they had never seen such a battle between gods and demons. If they had stayed close, they might have been caught in the crossfire, so they had fled early. Otherwise, the mere aftermath of these two monsters fighting would have been enough to overwhelm everyone.

No sooner said than done, a magma-like fiery red flame suddenly erupted from the Brick's body, filling the entire courtyard in an instant. The Gu Mantong had no time to dodge and was directly affected by this blanket attack. Its Yin Qi instantly scattered, and in great alarm, it could only fly upwards to seek refuge.

The Brick calmly raised his head and roared disdainfully, "I only know three phrases... Roar!"

An invisible energy wave suddenly shot out from his mouth, clearly a Buddhist Lion's Roar Cultivation Technique. Although this energy appeared formless and insubstantial, the heat wave was very real. The Gu Mantong couldn't dodge in time, and its entire tiny body was directly hit, letting out a tragic scream in mid-air. Its whole body was instantly burned to charcoal, and it fell directly from the sky.

The Brick chuckled, very satisfied with his performance. He knew that speed was not his strong suit, so he had released the magma-like ground fire from his body. This move was intended to force the Gu Mantong to flee upwards, and he had deliberately avoided Tang Ku and the wild boar's positions earlier so they wouldn't be affected.

It must be said that this feint was indeed brilliantly executed.

However, just as he was laughing triumphantly, a sinister voice from mid-air sneered, "Useless, truly useless. Was all that eating of people for nothing?"

Suddenly, a Buddhist bead shot out at a speed faster than a sniper rifle bullet. The Brick was startled and hadn't even had time to react when he heard a dull thud behind him. Tang Ku was sent flying sideways, crashing through the wall, and disappearing from sight.
