264: The surprise is yet to come

When the Old Monk saw Tang Ku, although surprised, he was not afraid.

Glancing at the dead Moon Spirit monk out of the corner of his eye, the Old Monk couldn't help but sneer: "I really misjudged you. I didn't expect you to be a Martial Artist... Did the imperial court send you?"

Tang Ku smiled and said: "Let's say so... Hmmm, seeing how ruthless you are, you must have killed quite a few people in your time... Well, now you have two choices. Either we have a nice chat, or I send you to the Western Paradise right now. What do you say?"

"Just you?"

The Old Monk sneered, "Don't think that because you've practiced a few moves you can take me down. Don't forget, you're all alone. My subordinates alone would wear you out to death!"

"Is that so?"

Tang Ku smiled slightly, and three figures suddenly appeared behind him.

Nezha waved his hand gently, and the Fire Tipped Spear appeared in his hand. Scanning the surroundings, he found a large group of fake monks rushing up with weapons in hand, and couldn't help but sneer: "Holy Monk, can I kill these guys?"

Tang Ku smiled and said: "Third Prince, please go ahead, just don't make it too messy, otherwise it'll be hard to clean up!"

"You got it!"

The Wind Fire Wheels suddenly appeared under Nezha's feet, and he darted out like wind and fire.

The Old Monk was a bit stunned now, looking at Tang Ku and saying: "You... are you also practitioners?"

"You guessed right!"

A ray of light suddenly appeared in Xingyunzi's hand, instantly binding the Old Monk like a rope.

The Old Monk felt his limbs stiffen and couldn't move, but heard Xingyunzi continue: "Answer the Holy Monk's questions honestly. This rope can detect lies. If you speak falsehoods, the rope will tighten, digging into your flesh until it breaks your bones!"

The Old Monk curled his lips: "You guys underestimate me too much..."

The Old Monk's body flashed, and his entire body actually shrank by over a dozen inches. In the blink of an eye, the rope fell off. He flipped and landed several meters away. Suddenly, a Nine-Ringed Monk Staff appeared in his hand. He slammed the staff onto the ground, and the entire hall seemed to shake.

Tang Ku turned his head and said: "Didn't you say that once this thing binds someone, they can't use any Spell?"

Xingyunzi smiled awkwardly: "This is a bone-shrinking technique; it has nothing to do with any Spell."

The Old Monk sneered: "Heh, I misjudged today. People who know martial arts and people who know Spells have both come, but I wonder what kind of formidable character this old gentleman is?"

"Heh, apart from a few fencing skills, I don't have any other formidable skills. Why don't you come over and challenge this old man to a duel?"

Wei Zheng sneered, his righteous aura surging, forming a pale purple light above his head.

Alright, the Old Monk was truly dumbfounded this time.

The kid who looked just like Nezha was already enough to shock him, and now seeing a Confucian expert appear, he was even more stunned, thinking to himself: "Who did I offend? I finally built up this force, and before I could even recruit soldiers, I was targeted by the imperial court? Who exactly are these people? And this monk with decent kung fu... seems... not so simple either..."

"Swish!"

Just as he was pondering, a flash of fire suddenly landed beside Tang Ku. Nezha clapped his hands and said: "Done... These guys are just a bunch of Mortals. Although they know some martial arts, they are useless otherwise. This is a bit boring! I see this Old Monk still has some substance, why don't you leave him to me!"

Nezha looked at the Old Monk, rubbing his hands together.

The Old Monk was currently scanning his surroundings, discovering that it had already become completely silent. It turned out that all his subordinates had been wiped out by Nezha in an instant. Whether they were dead or alive, he didn't know, but they were either lying prone or on their backs, blood covering the ground, looking truly miserable.

Tang Ku smiled and said to the Old Monk: "Look, this young man here is enough to kill you. Honestly, I really don't want to bully you, so you'd better be obedient and surrender!"

The Old Monk sneered: "Just because of you Mortals, you dare to insult me like this? You really don't know the meaning of death..."

As he spoke, the Old Monk threw off his luxurious cassock, and even his monk's robe was shattered by a strange force, revealing the martial attire wrapped inside, looking every bit like a Martial Artist.

He pointed at Tang Ku and sneered: "Monk, prepare to die..."

"Swish!"

The Old Monk turned into a blur of light and instantly arrived in front of Tang Ku. The Nine-Ringed Monk Staff, like a giant mountain, smashed down toward his head.

"Oh, so you are actually a practitioner too, and your cultivation is not low, you've actually reached the Realm of a Taiyi Loose Immortal..."

Tang Ku thought to himself, "However, this thing in his hand... looks a bit familiar..."

"Boom!"

The monk staff hit Tang Ku's bald head hard, and the bricks and stones under his feet shattered instantly, but that was all that happened, because the Old Monk had been shaken by a huge counter-shock force that made his hands numb, and his body was involuntarily knocked backward.

However, before he had retreated even half a step, the monk staff in his hand was instantly grabbed by Tang Ku.

"Bang!"

The Old Monk landed on his feet and pulled back with all his might, but it was like an ant trying to shake a tree; he couldn't move it at all!

Tang Ku looked at the front end of the monk staff in his hand and suddenly smiled, saying: "How nostalgic. This thing was in my hands for over a decade, and I didn't even know it could be used as a weapon?"

The Old Monk was stunned, stuttering: "You... you..."

"Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you, this thing is a Magical Artifact I used when I went to fetch the scriptures. Usually, I just used it as a walking stick!"

"Hum!"

With a gentle flick of his hand, Tang Ku repelled the Old Monk. Holding the Nine-Ringed Monk Staff, he chuckled: "Now it can be considered returned to its rightful owner!"

The Old Monk thought he had misheard, but seeing Tang Ku's demeanor, and recalling when he first saw him, he felt a sense of familiarity and couldn't help but say in shock: "You... you are..."

"Heh, you guys just wanted to turn me into myself, why can't you remember now?"

"... Buddha... Buddha of Sandalwood Merit?"

The Old Monk trembled all over, "But... how could it be... No, it can't be, that's not right... You are fake, you are fake!"

Tang Ku chuckled: "Genuine and authentic!"

"But, if you are the True Buddha, why would you be willing to be tied up by us and taken to the back, left to our mercy?" The Old Monk gritted his teeth, "You... you must be trying to scare me!"

"Pfft... Holy Monk, these days, nobody believes the truth!"

Nezha mocked.

"That's true..." Tang Ku looked at the Old Monk and suddenly said, "I have many questions I want to ask you now... so I won't play those games with you anymore..."

As he spoke, Tang Ku held the Nine-Ringed Monk Staff and prepared to step forward.

"Don't come over..."

The Old Monk retreated a step vigilantly and said sternly, "Don't forget, I still have many hostages in my hands. Half of those innocent women are still chaste. Do you want them to die?"

Tang Ku slapped his forehead: "I almost forgot... Master... Master, are you there? How are those women?"

"Heh, don't worry, Master. They are all safe and sound. After General Xue rescued them, he went to capture the rebels!"

A monk in green robes descended from the sky, smiling and bowing to Tang Ku.
