353: I also transformed
The cultivation of the Yao Race in the Early Stage is divided into six phases, known as: "Spirit Opening, Wisdom Awakening, Body Cultivation, Form Transformation, Core Formation, and Undergoing Tribulation..."
After Undergoing Tribulation, they still have a long way to go. During this period, these members of the Yao Race will develop something akin to innate abilities, allowing them to refine a distinctive organ of their body into a Magic Treasure.
Of course, it varies from person to person. Some of the Yao Race choose to consolidate their own cultivation, then ascend to a higher level, heading straight toward achieving a righteous fruition.
Others are different; they choose to occupy mountains and act as kings in the mortal world, living a free and unfettered life.
The mortal world is treacherous. There is infighting among different members of the Yao Race, and there is the pursuit by the so-called defenders of the Righteous Path among the Cultivators.
Therefore, to gain a foothold in the mortal world, one must have means to protect oneself, and these Magic Treasures, refined from their own distinct features, become a necessity.
These Magic Treasures, refined according to their own innate abilities, are called Lifebound Treasures, and generally, there are many ways to Cultivate them.
One can collect Heaven And Earth Treasures to temper and refine them, nurturing them with one's own inner core. The power of a Magic Treasure cultivated this way may not be astonishing, but it provides sufficient ability for self-preservation.
The other method is quite cruel. They are unwilling to use their own inner core to nurture their Lifebound Treasure because they believe this will damage their cultivation.
Therefore, they choose another way, which is to fill the void with the lives of other creatures.
Killing living beings, consuming flesh and blood, devouring souls, to nurture the Magic Treasure...
Of course, this inevitably involves eating humans. Some, for various reasons, eat less, so their magic power is weaker.
While those who eat humans without restraint possess magic power that is more sinister and far more formidable!
Looking at Pigsy, who had transformed before him, the Beichen Wolf King couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth for a moment and swallow his saliva.
"Strange. This guy's outward appearance is so evil, yet why is he protected by the Buddha's light? Could it be that what he said about becoming a Bodhisattva of the Buddhist sect is true?"
The Beichen Wolf King couldn't help but curl his lip and violently shake his head. "No, no, I'm overthinking it. My Lifebound Treasure, cultivated by eating so many people, can't possibly be no match for this wild pig. He's bluffing me, using a smokescreen to scare me!"
Clang! Just as he was shaking his head frantically, he suddenly received a heavy blow to his head, which sent him reeling in dizziness.
"What are you muttering about here?" a black shadow said, looking down at him.
"Holy sh*t..." The Beichen Wolf King was startled, leaped back, raised his spiked club, and said in a deep voice, "You claim to be a Bodhisattva, yet you engage in such sneak attacks... You really are a piece of work... Damn it... It hurts like hell!"
Clutching his head, the Beichen Wolf King cursed loudly.
"If Old Pig really wanted to sneak attack you, your head would have blossomed long ago!"
Pigsy's height of over three meters was quite oppressive. Carrying his rake, he raised his left hand and said, "What just hit you was my fist!"
Raising one finger, he said to the Beichen Wolf King: "That mouth of yours, reeking with sinister, cold Qi... you've eaten quite a few people, haven't you? Old Pig also ate humans back in the day, but I only ate heinous bandits, robbers who killed and looted, and of course, some corrupt officials and treacherous scoundrels."
"However, ever since I followed my Master, I haven't eaten even a single person..."
The Beichen Wolf King snorted coldly: "It's all eating people, is there any difference between us?"
"Yes, there is!" Pigsy proudly tilted his head and laughed, "I have an official position now, and you don't. That's the difference!"
The veins on the Beichen Wolf King's forehead bulged: "You're courting death..."
The bearded, brawny man put away his spiked club. His face, which hadn't been ugly to begin with, suddenly became ferocious. In just an instant, the human face turned into a wolf's head, and his speed more than doubled in that same moment. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into a black giant wolf over four meters long, sprinting forward on all fours.
Roar! A phantom of a wolf's maw suddenly appeared and snapped down at Pigsy's big head.
Clang! The Nine-toothed Rake was raised abruptly, forcefully blocking the blow. However, the sharp teeth within that wolf's maw were extremely sharp and hard; they actually made even a treasure like the Nine-toothed Rake creak and groan. Moreover, he did not stop; it was like a large wolfhound pushing a tank. Pigsy pressed his feet firmly into the ground, dragging two half-foot-deep grooves into the earth.
"Holy sh*t, this guy is truly canine; his bite is insanely powerful!"
Old Pig was unhurried. He stomped his feet, immediately stopping his momentum and anchoring himself firmly to the ground. The two then began a contest of strength.
Although they were standing still, this static state was even more dangerous than being in motion. The energy generated by the collision of the Nine-toothed Rake and the sharp teeth emitted a teeth-grinding creak. And the ground where the two stood...
"Little doggy, is that all you've got?"
Pigsy smacked his lips and continued to provoke him, "Old Grandpa Pig hasn't eaten dog meat in a long time. Today, I'll just boil you with some black beans and ginger; that's a great tonic!"
As he spoke, a half-foot-long trail of drool flowed from Old Pig's mouth.
"Ah, Pig Ganglie, I will kill you..."
The Beichen Wolf King was extremely furious. He really couldn't stand that Pig Ganglie, who had been a monster with him back in the day, had now actually achieved righteous fruition and obtained the Bodhisattva status revered by everyone?
Stop joking; how could this gluttonous pig possibly be his match!
"Hmm? You're biting something? How are you talking?"
Old Pig looked completely bewildered, but what bewildered him even more was yet to come. He saw a faint blue phantom of a wolf's head suddenly appear outside the wolf's head before him, and then a faint, low humming sound came from the mouth of this phantom wolf head.
Before Old Pig could make his next round of taunts, a melodious wolf howl actually emanated from the mouth of that phantom wolf head...
"Awoo!"
"You..." Before half a word could escape his lips, Old Pig suddenly felt his head turn dizzy, and his whole body shuddered and went limp.
"Not good, this is a soul-snatching technique similar to the Snorting Qi..."
He suddenly came to his senses, but it was already too late. The scene before him had changed; he seemed to be floating in mid-air, looking at the giant wolf confronting his own body on the ground, and suddenly let out a bitter smile.
"I really misjudged him; this guy actually had such a trick up his sleeve..."
Old Pig curled his lip. Watching his own body on the ground get pounced on, with the wolf's jaws aiming down at his head to bite, Old Pig couldn't help but chuckle coldly, "However, if you really think you can easily deal with my Physical Body like this, you are gravely mistaken..."
The Beichen Wolf King laughed wildly and bit down fiercely at the head of Pigsy's Physical Body, secretly feeling triumphant in his heart: "Hmph, what Pure Altar Messenger Bodhisattva, isn't he still being..."
Before he could finish his sentence, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his big mouth, and then his body was violently flung away.
