4: What did you guess?

The jinlan kasaya was indeed a supreme treasure of Buddhism; the self-detonation earlier hadn’t harmed Tang Ku in the slightest, but neither his memories from his previous life, nor Tang Xuanzang’s own memories, nor even Golden Cicada’s memories from his previous life, contained any record of demons or monsters using such a method!

In the Journey to the West world, there was no concept of self-detonation; even Primordial Spirit self-detonation or soul self-detonation were merely forms of suicide, and absolutely would not possess such immense power!

Coupled with the “fly” he picked up from the ground, which clearly didn’t belong to this era, Tang Ku already had some guesses about the mastermind behind this incident, but as for who exactly the opponent was and what their origin and identity were… the clues were simply too few to discern anything!

“Oh, what did you guess?”

The moment Tang Ku picked up the tiny fly, another voice sounded from behind him.

His body stiffened, and he turned around to see an incredibly familiar slender figure: golden armor, a Golden Cudgel, and a face covered in monkey fur… Needless to say, he knew who it was.

However, he had personally witnessed this monkey’s blackening, and its appearance here at this moment could not bode well!

Tang Ku narrowed his eyes, looking at the opponent’s displayed data, and let out a helpless bitter laugh.

Intellect 20, Strength 50, Skill 55, Agility 60, Speed 62, Defense 80.

Well, this eldest Disciple truly lived up to his reputation as the Great Sage the Equal of Heaven and the Victorious Fighting Buddha. With stats like these, how could he fight?

He knew that the turtledove was not just a little bit weaker than him, which was why he dared to confront him, but now… he and the blackened Sun Wukong were not just a little bit different; it was a world of difference!

Even if all the Iron Fist Points gained from being beaten earlier and from beating others later were added up, they would only amount to 15 points. Even if all were allocated to Defense, it would only allow the opponent to strike one more blow.

However…

“Heh heh, I didn’t expect you to arrive so quickly!”

Tang Ku narrowed his eyes slightly, “Where is my Disciple’s soul? How can you control him so easily?”

“Although Sun Wukong is a Spiritual Root of the Three Realms, he has too large a spiritual loophole in his heart, so controlling him is very easy!” That voice was not actually Sun Wukong’s. He looked Tang Ku up and down, “What I didn’t expect was that you, a cowardly monk, would be full of bulging muscles and possess such combat power!”

Tang Ku curled his lips and narrowed his eyes, saying, “To be honest, I didn’t even expect it myself. You can consider it a benefit after I achieve Buddhahood… Hmm, which world are you from? Is this thing… from your world?”

He pinched the electronic fly in his hand and placed it in front of the monkey.

“You recognize technological constructs?”

The opponent was clearly surprised, his monkey face even somewhat distorted. “It seems you yourself are not from this world either!”

“Of course I am!” Tang Ku naturally wouldn’t fall for his trick, casually saying, “It’s just that the craftsmanship of this thing is too exquisite, and the Four Continents currently haven’t developed such manufacturing capabilities, which is why I can identify it at a glance… Hmm, what is your intention in appearing in our world?”

“Heh heh, guess!”

The opponent suddenly raised his Golden Cudgel, and the cudgel’s shadow, like a mountain, slammed down fiercely towards Tang Ku’s head.

Bang!

A fierce wind suddenly rose, stinging his face, but Tang Ku did not dodge a single step. Instead, the hand holding the Golden Cudgel trembled continuously.

“…Ugh, what did you do? Why can you affect my soul? What… what are you chanting?”

Sun Wukong’s face showed a twisted expression of pain, and the Golden Cudgel in his hand clanged as it fell to the ground, shattering a piece of the Gold Brick pavement. He clutched his head with both hands, almost rolling on the ground.

“This is called the ‘Jili Gulu Rebirth Incantation,’ used to send you to the Western Paradise… Hmm, perhaps the Western Paradise no longer exists, but since you can speak our language, you should understand the meaning of this phrase!”

Tang Ku sneered, “Return my Disciple’s soul, and get lost now. I’ll pretend you don’t exist. If you dare to be presumptuous, I will make you experience what it means to wish for death!”

Stopping the chanting of the scriptures, the opponent instantly felt no more pain, stood up, and looked at the monk with a pair of strange eyes, saying in a deep voice, “No matter what you want to do, the general trend is now set. You cannot be the master’s opponent!”

“Heh heh, then tell your bastard master to wash his neck and wait, and see if my Iron Fist Points can reach his face!”

Tang Ku curled his lips, “Quickly release Sun Wukong’s soul, otherwise, I will now…”

Swish!

The figure moved extremely fast, transforming into a golden light in the blink of an eye and disappearing into the horizon.

“Phew, fortunately, my words can still bluff people… Damn it, I’m really tired!”

From the very beginning, Tang Ku knew he wouldn’t die, because he saw the tight-fitting hoop on the opponent’s head!

When Sun Wukong achieved Buddhahood, he could have removed the tight-fitting hoop, but for some unknown reason, it had perfectly remained when he blackened. In other words, the Tightening-Hoop Spell could still be used.

And as a Buddhist Disciple, he naturally knew that this spell did not actually cause pain by tightening the hoop, but directly acted upon the wearer’s soul. Otherwise, with Sun Wukong’s Physical Body cultivation, how could a mere tight-fitting hoop make him submit?

For a moment, Tang Ku suddenly thought, the Tightening-Hoop Spell seemed to work no matter how far away. Should he chant it now and make that guy fall from the sky?

After much deliberation, he still decided not to do so.

Too much is as bad as too little. The opponent was not a fool. If he chanted it now, they might realize that the tight-fitting hoop was at work. The methods of these people were strange and unpredictable, and they might find a way to remove the tight-fitting hoop. If he met them again next time, he would have already lost a third of his chances of winning!

“Hmm, then how should these points be allocated?”

Intellect 15, Strength 10, Skill 10, Agility 11, Speed 13, Defense 7…

Currently, Defense is the lowest!

“If that blow just now had truly landed on my head, I’m afraid it would have directly turned me to ashes…”

Tang Ku recalled the scene just now with lingering fear, feeling a wave of trepidation, and then thought of the magnificent Heavenly Tribulation before his Transmigration…

Out of 15 Iron Fist Points, 13 points were all allocated to Defense!

Om!

Tang Ku’s eyes suddenly blurred, and his Defense instantly became 20 points. A golden light shot up from his body into the sky, then retracted back into his body. Streaks of golden lightning circled around him, refining his Physical Body to become even more solid, and his muscle contours became increasingly defined.

He could clearly feel the surge in his physical strength, and was immediately quite surprised. At the same time, a light curtain rose on the System interface, displaying a line of text.

“Congratulations, Host, for continuously breaking through two integer points. The System rewards you with full-level power in Vajra Zen Skill. Keep up the good work (Being a tank is not the only path, but getting beaten always hurts less!)”
