82: High school education

“Tarot divination, originating from the Hebrew Major Arcana divination, I also learned this divination technique from a Roman priest, but I found that this divination technique could only divine matters of Mortals, but was ineffective against gods. So I improved it, driven by Divine Power, and then it could be used! However, it's a pity that my divination technique can only roughly divine the direction of events, but cannot accurately predict them. However, for determining directions, it is incredibly accurate!”

Wu Zhen explained to them while arranging the tarot cards one by one according to a certain pattern. These cards floated in the air, instantly forming a mysterious Formation, which made people a bit dizzy.

“Isn’t this like getting a pillow when you’re sleepy?”

Nezha stared at the cards in the air, his face full of wonder, “This… it has the same marvelous effect as Junior Martial Uncle Jiang’s divination technique back then, it’s just that his old man didn’t have such a magnificent method!”

The mysterious Formation churned out large waves, as captivating as a circus act. Tang Ku couldn’t help but rub his nose and say, “Wu Zhen, can we stop showing off? Time is still very tight!”

“Master, you don’t understand, do you? This is an essential ritual for divination, it’s shuffling the cards, not just showing off. You just watch from the side…” Wu Zhen pouted, showing a look that said, ‘don’t pretend to understand what you don’t.’

Finally, after a grand performance, the tarot cards formed a huge five-pointed star shape in mid-air. All the card faces were blurred by Divine Power, making their content unreadable.

“Alright, which of you three will draw a card?”

Wu Zhen chuckled.

“Me, me… I’m most familiar with the Bull Demon King!”

Nezha volunteered, rubbing his hands as he came forward.

Wasn't he the most familiar? When he subdued the Bull Demon King back then, the Third Prince’s Wind Fire Wheels almost roasted the old bull into jerky.

“Hmm, choose a card, then pull it out and hand it to me!”

Wu Zhen said, “The card face down. Before I open it, none of us can see the content inside, otherwise, it won’t be effective!”

“I know, I know, didn’t you just say it once?”

Nezha chuckled, pulling out a tarot card from the very center. The Third Prince always acted on impulse, so he did what he thought of, never dragging his feet.

“Hmm…”

Wu Zhen took the card, rubbed it gently in her palm, and the outer layer of the tarot card seemed to peel off and dissipate with the wind. Then she flipped the card over.

“Huh?”

Wu Zhen couldn’t help but frown slightly, “It’s this card? This…”

Tang Ku and the other two leaned their heads over. Upon seeing the card, Tang Ku couldn’t help but frown slightly and say, “This seems to be called The Hanged Man, right? It doesn’t seem to have a very good meaning!”

In the image, a person was tied to a tree trunk, head down, looking very strange.

“This is a card from the Major Arcana, and its symbolic meaning is ‘sacrifice’! It represents compassion and sympathy, sacrificing oneself for the sake of others…”

Wu Zhen frowned slightly, “Is your companion a selfless person?”

“That’s wrong, that guy is not only not a selfless person, on the contrary, he is a completely self-centered fellow!”

Tang Ku laughed.

“Actually, not entirely. Don’t forget what the Bull Demon King is made of!”

Yang Jian, however, said, “I heard you say before that the interpretation of tarot cards is not that simple. Both words ‘sacrifice’ ( sacrifice) contain the character for ‘ox’ ( ox), and in the past, the meaning of sacrifice was to use an ox as an offering. In other words, the Bull Demon King has likely been captured as an offering!”

“Hmm, your interpretation, handsome man, isn’t wrong, but…” Wu Zhen pondered for a moment and said, “Even a selfish person might not be unable to sacrifice for others. After all, from what you’re saying, this Mr. Bull loves his wife very much, so could it be that he sacrificed himself for his wife?”

Nezha clapped his hands and said, “Your explanations are not contradictory at all… Sacrificing oneself for one’s wife and being made into an offering, this is entirely possible to happen simultaneously…”

Everyone looked at Nezha, making him a bit uneasy, “Why are you all looking at me like that?”

“Nothing, it’s rare for you to be willing to use your brain. Speaking of which, you’re quite smart!”

Tang Ku praised.

“Alright, I’ll take that as a compliment!”

Nezha scratched his head, helplessly saying, “What’s next? Where is he now? How do we find him?”

Wu Zhen nodded, and with a swipe of her right hand over the card, the image on the card instantly twisted into a vortex. Immediately after, a scene appeared on the card face, flowing like a traditional ink wash animation!

It was a tall mountain, shrouded in mist, its true appearance unclear, but faintly, a group of people could be seen escorting a tall figure up the mountain. And the person being escorted was clearly the Bull Demon King, as those pair of bull horns were not something everyone had.

“Where is this?”

Nezha frowned slightly.

Yang Jian looked at it, and also said with a strange expression, “It seems somewhat familiar, but I can’t remember the exact location.”

Instantly, the scene changed again, and the entire “ink wash painting” had transformed into several characters, appearing on the screen.

Yang Jian and Nezha were bewildered, because they had never seen these characters before.

Tang Ku, however, saw clearly that these were Greek letters. The first few were clearly numbers, and the latter should be some kind of distance unit and direction.

“Oh dear, the distance isn’t close, it’s about 4000 stadia to the southwest!” Wu Zhen frowned and said, “And the terrain of this mountain seems very dangerous!”

“Stadia… what does that mean?”

Nezha asked with a bewildered look.

“It should be a unit of distance… Hmm, Wu Zhen… Hmm, Elder or something… how many li is your 1 stadia equivalent to?”

Yang Jian was good at thinking and immediately understood the meaning, so he asked.

Before Wu Zhen could speak, Tang Ku pinched his fingers and said, “I roughly know this… Stadia is a Greek unit of measurement. If 1 stadia is 185 meters, then this distance is roughly… over 1,400 li… Going southwest from here, such a mountain should not be hard to find!”

“And how far is one meter?” Nezha was still bewildered.

“I forgot that the Holy Monk Transmigrated from another world…” Yang Jian pouted and said, “In your era, was distance calculated by the length of a grain of rice?”

“Even if he Transmigrated, he wouldn’t be that amazing!” Wu Zhen said strangely, “Were you a mathematician before?”

“A mathematician, perhaps not…” Tang Ku proudly raised his head and said, “I am the only monk on our mountain with a high school education or above!”
