420: Chaotic battlefield

Ever since his plan failed a short while ago, the resources in his hands had been carved up by the other grand commanders!

Newton was his best friend, but that Master had said that no extra resources were to be given to Darwin, so he had no choice.

Now, all that remained of Darwin's assets were on the island of Dongying, and all of this was his life's work!

Once the enemy breached Dongying, everything for Darwin would be over.

Along the way, he had encountered those Buddhist experts. If it were during his prime, he wouldn't have needed to pay them any mind, but now... he had forcibly initiated his evolution, and his lifespan and energy were being consumed at an inconceivable rate.

He hoped to reach the base as quickly as possible to activate his ultimate weapon.

But unfortunately, just as he had finally almost reached the battlefield, he was stopped by Vajrapani!

The Protector Vajrapani possessed undeniable combat power. Moreover, he had seen Vajrapani before when attacking the Western World, though he had only seen him once before the Master had torn his body apart with supreme magic.

Unexpectedly, not only had Vajrapani been resurrected today, but his combat power seemed to have increased compared to the past; Darwin's half-baked quasi-saint strength was completely ineffective against him.

Vajrapani was gnashing his teeth at this moment. Back at Mount Ling, he hadn't even seen his opponent's face before being dismembered, which he considered a great humiliation. Now that he saw one of the enemy leaders, how could he let this guy go?

Immediately, his Vajra pestle flew into the sky, its volume and weight increasing by dozens or even hundreds of times in an instant.

The Vajra pestle itself weighed over eight thousand catties; after increasing a hundredfold, it must have weighed eight hundred thousand catties. Darwin had just been struck by the pestle and his body was already injured, and his mana to maintain his quasi-saint Realm was basically exhausted, so how could he take this blow?

When he saw the Vajra pestle descending like a mountain, he knew he was finished. Right now, he didn't even have the strength to move, so how could he resist such powerful force?

He couldn't help but helplessly close his eyes, waiting for death to arrive.

Hum!

Suddenly, the Vajra pestle was deflected by a strange force and smashed fiercely toward Vajrapani's direction.

Vajrapani was shocked and caught off guard, directly tumbling from being hit by the object. After scrambling up, he grabbed the edge of the pestle to restore it to its original state.

He couldn't help but look deeply at the person who had suddenly appeared in the sky, frowning slightly, and said, "Are you an accomplice too? Who exactly are you?"

In mid-air, a guy wearing cloth shoes and a suit slowly descended, helped Darwin up, and said, "If I hadn't come, you would've been dead for sure!"

Darwin used almost all his strength to stand up, panting, "Old friend, I owe you one... Sigh, it's also because I was too eager for quick success. If I had waited for that thing to wake up before acting, and attacked from both sides, perhaps I wouldn't have ended up in this state!"

"It's too late to say anything now!"

Newton said, "Go and wake that thing up, try to make up for it. Leave this guy to me!"

Darwin looked at him deeply, didn't say a word, and staggered towards the rear.

Vajrapani was very annoyed by these two men's disregard for him, but this newcomer seemed even more formidable than the old foreign man; at the very least, he couldn't figure out the power he had just displayed.

Therefore, he dared not act rashly at all!

"Who... exactly are you?"

Vajrapani said in a deep voice.

"Heh heh, even if I told you, you wouldn't know!"

Newton laughed, "Enough nonsense, let's fight if we're going to... Besides, you hate us quite a bit, don't you?"

Vajrapani was taken aback for a moment, then nodded and said, "True, I was too hesitant. I should stick to my original intention and do what I must, so... take this!"

Saying this, Vajrapani brandished the Vajra pestle and fought with Newton.

...

On the battlefield, a large number of Steel Saint Seiya suddenly appeared and were already locked in combat with the Datang army. However, these Datang soldiers were surprisingly resilient. The combat power of these Saint Seiya was basically more than ten times that of an ordinary person; bench pressing a thousand catties with one hand was like child's play to them. But the men of the elite Datang troops were even more bizarre; they had eaten Immortal Pill refined from flat peaches more than once, and the power of some of these immortal medicines had already fused into their bones and muscles, so in terms of pure strength, they were basically evenly matched with these Saint Seiya.

However, they had one advantage that the Saint Seiya did not.

That was, each of them was more or less proficient in some kind of martial art, so in terms of technique, they won completely!

Coupled with the reason that the Saint Seiya were not using weapons, the moment the two sides made contact, the Saint Seiya suffered greatly, being slaughtered by the Datang soldiers using high-frequency blades like cutting melons and vegetables, with heads rolling everywhere.

Honestly speaking, the Datang soldiers had never fought such a satisfying war; even when fighting the Turks back then, it had been a struggle of extreme hardship.

From equipment to individual combat capability, they had achieved an overwhelming victory!

On the other hand, General Xue Rengui and Tong Hu were fighting earth-shatteringly, nearly tearing up large swathes of the surrounding concrete-poured ground.

In terms of combat power, the two were actually evenly matched, neck and neck!

However, it was clear that General Xue Rengui was defending more and attacking less, already gradually falling behind.

There was no help for it; the power gap was too large. If it weren't for Tong Hu being excited by the thrill of the hunt and not using his ultimate move, General Xue Rengui would likely have already been defeated.

However, General Xue Rengui was, after all, a veteran of many battles, even though he wasn't very old... but his combat experience was absolutely rich.

"Hahaha... Kid, your combat power is very strong, but for a Saint Seiya, especially a Golden Saint modified by the Master, you have no chance of winning... If you're sensible, surrender quickly; I don't want to kill you!"

Tong Hu had already switched to a golden long blade in his hand, hacking and slashing fiercely at General Xue Rengui. Tong Hu originated from China, and he basically had no shortcomings in combat technique, so wanting to crush him in technique was a delusion.

But, if technique doesn't work, we still have weapons!

General Xue Rengui narrowed his eyes, holding the Fangtian Halberd with one hand, executing a dragging blade technique from the Guan Dao style, turning around in a wide arc, and slashed fiercely at the top of Tong Hu's head with the blade of the Fangtian Halberd.

Tong Hu couldn't help but curl his lip and say, "Hmph, stubborn..."

The golden blade in his hand suddenly lifted upward, easily blocking this slash, but immediately after, a strong sense of crisis came from the front, just as it had when he faced the sniping of the Gauss sniper rifle earlier.

"Bang!"

Even though he dodged quickly, a huge bloody hole appeared on his shoulder. This point-blank shot had actually pierced through both his golden saint cloth and his shoulder.

"You... are truly despicable!" Tong Hu roared, clutching his shoulder.

"Are you a child?"

General Xue Rengui had a huge pistol in his left hand; this thing, like the sniper rifle on his back, also belonged to the "kill-them-all weapons."

General Xue Rengui mocked, "Don't forget, we are on a life-or-death battlefield, not playing house!"
