255: Heartbroken

Blood Demon Ding Yin's move, "Blood Slaughter of the Nine Netherworlds," was derived from the ultimate Shu Mountain sword technique, the "Severing Destruction Divine Sword." The creator of this move was none other than one of the Ancestral Masters of Shu Mountain, the legendary great scholar of the Jixia Academy, Lu Lianzi.

Blood Demon Ding Yin was once a Disciple of Shu Mountain and possessed extraordinary talent in the path of the sword. After falling into demonic cultivation, he used this sword technique as his Foundation and the energy of the endless Blood Sea as his driving force to create this move.

The Blood Sea represented his Lifespan; it could be said that he was trading his Lifespan in exchange for the destructive power of this move.

Once this move was unleashed, it went without saying that mountains would crumble and the earth would split. It was also true that Ding Yin had once used this move to kill a Grand Unity Golden Immortal.

Although that Golden Immortal was merely a fallen one, he was still at the Golden Immortal Realm. In the Human Realm, there were many who could injure him, but those capable of killing him in a single move were extremely rare.

In Ding Yin's view, by sacrificing half the energy of his Blood Sea, he would certainly be able to tear this monk to pieces.

However, the monk opposite him merely extended a single finger and caught the move!

Not only did he catch it, but at the point where the finger touched the tip of the sword, a blinding light the size of a needle tip suddenly erupted. Although small, it was almost enough to blind a person's eyes.

Ding... Hum!

An invisible ripple spread out from that point. Ding Yin, who was controlling the blood sword, felt a sharp pain in his chest, and an ominous feeling reached his brain, as if disaster was imminent.

"Not good, the monk's finger is too strong... This... what move is this?"

Without time to think, he bit the tip of his tongue and continued to pour energy into the blood sword, attempting to block this finger.

Under his continuous extraction of energy, the Blood Sea above dropped by more than two-thirds in an instant. A huge vortex suddenly swirled on the vast ocean of the Blood Sea, as if there were a giant hole below draining the Blood Sea, looking as terrifying as a natural disaster.

Bang... Boom!

Tang Ku frowned slightly and continued to pour his own power into that finger.

The Myriad Manifestations Tribulation Finger, which exchanged all of his own energy for the physical power of that finger—if destroying the Haotian Mirror just now had used up one-tenth of the energy in his body, then this finger had instantly drained half of the energy in his body.

However, it was enough, enough to overpower the power of two-thirds of the Blood Sea!

The blood sword was instantly covered in cracks, and then the endless energy shattered it. Before Blood Demon Ding Yin could react, the chain reaction brought about by this finger had already arrived.

That single finger tore through the surrounding space, causing the underwater cavity to shake. The surrounding rock walls began to crack continuously. As for Ding Yin, his chest was suddenly crushed inward by the shattered space. He spat out a mouthful of blood, and his body flew out uncontrollably, slamming heavily into the rock wall.

The damage caused by this finger was so great that it was difficult for him to even assume his form.

After a long while, he regained his senses, only to see that there was no blood energy left in the surroundings, while the monk was still absorbing a large amount of blood energy like a vortex.

"No... this is not right, this is the blood energy from that divine blade..." Ding Yin could not help but be shocked. "You cannot do this, you cannot..."

Ding Yin glared fiercely at Tang Ku, only to see the monk just now opening his eyes. He paused, then sealed his Dantian. The blade suddenly vibrated slightly, appearing quite dissatisfied.

The monk smiled, glanced at Ding Yin, who was severely injured and unable to move, and suddenly pulled the blade up, holding it in his hand. He laughed, "Heh, what a good treasure. I didn't expect that from the Investiture of the Gods era until now, you have actually evolved to this extent. It is truly remarkable!"

The blade vibrated slightly; this ancient-looking blood-colored divine blade seemed quite happy that someone recognized it.

Ding Yin on the opposite side was already dumbfounded and stammered, "You... you know the origin of this blade?"

"Heh, I didn't know before, but now I do!"

Tang Ku gripped the hilt and slowly approached Blood Demon Ding Yin, smiling faintly, "But why should I tell you?"

"Heh, yeah, it doesn't matter if you don't tell me..."

Ding Yin shook his head and smiled bitterly, "Everything is over, everything... is already over!"

"If the Blood Sea does not perish, the Blood Demon does not die; isn't that what you said?"

Tang Ku looked up at the Blood Sea suspended at the cave entrance and laughed, "Your Blood Sea is still very large; you can completely make a comeback!"

"It is not the Blood Sea that does not perish, but the Blood Sea Source!"

The Blood Demon glanced at the blade in Tang Ku's hand. "The Blood Sea Source can produce endless Qi and blood, ensuring that the entire Blood Sea will not be depleted. Once the Blood Sea Source is lost, this so-called Blood Sea is nothing more than a lake with a large amount of blood... Unless I can find another similar Magic Treasure to serve as the Blood Sea Source, even if I kill countless more people, it will be impossible to rebuild the Blood Sea!"

"Heh, it seems you still haven't changed your ways. If I let you go today, would you go out again and kill more people to rebuild the Blood Sea?"

Tang Ku sneered, "Stand up, use your remaining Blood Sea power to repair your body, and fight me again!"

Ding Yin's body could assume different forms and could be repaired by the Blood Sea. Even with such near-death injuries, as long as he had a breath left, he could be as good as new.

But that required consuming a large amount of Blood Sea power. Now, what capital did he still have? And how much of the Blood Sea was left to use?

"Do it. I don't need to resist now, because even if I resist and revive time and time again, you will kill me time and time again, eventually exhausting the Blood Sea completely!"

Ding Yin tilted his neck and said, "Rather than suffering so much, it would be better for me to have a quick end!"

"Oh, you are quite a straightforward man. This look of facing death without fear, how does it resemble a Blood Demon?"

Tang Ku mocked, "Shouldn't a Blood Demon be the kind of existence that makes endless comebacks, killing and burning everywhere, committing all sorts of evil, and never being killed? Shouldn't you be plotting some conspiracies and turning this world into a Blood Sea? Where are your grand ambitions?"

"Humph, monk, do not push your luck. If you want to kill, then kill, why humiliate me like this?"

Ding Yin said angrily.

"Am I humiliating you? Heh, you are still obsessed even now..."

Tang Ku shook his head with some helplessness. "Try to think about the things you have done. Think through your life from beginning to end. Is this me humiliating you? Is this not what you have done? Have you ever thought about what the real purpose of doing this was? For fame? For profit? Or just for a breath of spite in your heart? Do you kill and burn simply for amusement?"

"I..."

Blood Demon Ding Yin actually looked bewildered. "Yes... I... what exactly am I doing all of this for?"
