70: A monk is still a monk

Tang Ku had never realized that his mouth could have such a function.

Could he have so easily converted this woman, who once considered lewdness her lifelong belief?

Even now, Tang Ku himself found it a bit incredible, but looking at the woman's devout appearance, could he truly believe her completely?

"Master, this should be enough, right? I remember among your Buddhist Disciples here, men are monks and women are nuns. Now that my hair is gone, you must give me a title!"

Aphrodite said with a beaming smile.

"A title?" Tang Ku's mouth twitched. "That's called a Dharma name, okay? And do you think a nun and a monk walking together on the street looks good?"

"What's wrong with that?"

Aphrodite frowned, "Those who have left home don't care about the worldly gaze. What they think has nothing to do with me. Besides, I'm already used to people's gossip, and I've never taken it to heart."

"You don't take it to heart, but I do, big sister!" Tang Ku couldn't help but smile bitterly. "However, this is good, much better than your attention-grabbing big wavy hair! If I were to be picky again, that would be me being attached to appearances... So, since you've chosen to temporarily follow me, I will bestow upon you a Dharma name. You shall be called... Hmm, among my Disciples, except for Shi Jingmo, whose birth name is his Dharma name, the rest are of the 'Wu' generation. Then you shall be called Wu Zhen. I hope you will be true and sincere in your feelings and nature, straightforward and innocent, and ultimately attain true enlightenment!"

Aphrodite, for some reason, suddenly felt enlightened. She pressed her palms together, bowed, and prostrated herself, saying, "Thank you, Master!"

Just like Shi Jingmo in the past, a black and red Qi suddenly burst forth from this goddess, who was originally available to all. It was blown away by a gust of wind into the sky, instantly disappearing without a trace. And in that instant, all superficiality left Wu Zhen's body. Although she was still beautiful, she no longer had that dissolute appearance, and a hint of piety actually flashed in her eyes.

"Master, can we go eat now? I haven't eaten anything all day, and I'm starving!"

Wu Zhen grabbed Tang Ku's arm and shook it.

Tang Ku wanted to flick her away, but he couldn't break free. If he directly used his strength, he might hurt her. After all, Wu Zhen was not like Shi Jingmo; her combat power and defense were basically zero. The System showed her physical data as: Intellect 60, Strength 7, Skill 11, Agility 14, Speed 18, Defense 3.

Well, in the world of gods where the strong prey on the weak, she was a character who could be easily bullied.

"You let go first, and I'll take you to eat... And, by the way, you can meet your Senior Brother Bianji the Monk!"

Tang Ku chuckled.

"Oh no, I'm not going!"

Wu Zhen immediately let go of his hand and stepped back, "He must hate me to death now. I'm not going."

"You must go. If you don't, this Karma will not be resolved. I won't always stay in the Great Tang. I must travel the entire world, and even the entire Universe. Leaving such an unresolved case will not only make me uneasy, but your future path of cultivation will also be much more difficult! Don't worry, Bianji is exceptionally intelligent and won't make things difficult for you."

Tang Ku advised.

Wu Zhen pouted: "I... I don't really want to cultivate. I'm just... just temporarily being your Disciple. You... you can't set me up!"

"Hehe, look, you're back to your old ways, aren't you? Pleading won't work. If you don't want to go, that's up to you, but if I leave, I won't take you!"

With that, Tang Ku turned and walked away, giving her no chance to refuse.

"You stinky Master, you're really annoying..."

Stamping her foot, Wu Zhen could only follow behind Tang Ku, pouting and silently walking towards the city.

After guarding on the cliff all night, he didn't see any sign of Nezha or Yang Jian, which meant they were very likely held up by something, or had encountered some trouble. However, with their abilities, ordinary troubles probably wouldn't be difficult for them.

Instead of waiting here bitterly, it was better to resolve this matter first.

Walking through the main streets and small alleys, a monk leading a nun inevitably drew criticism, especially since the monk was handsome and the nun was beautiful. If both were to return to secular life, they would be a perfect match.

However, among the crowd, many Buddhist followers had seen Tang Sanzang's face. As long as he was present, no evil thoughts should arise, because he was a truly virtuous and eminent monk.

Tang Ku walked in front with a normal expression, and Wu Zhen followed behind, a little flushed. From initial embarrassment to later a similar normal expression, it took less than half an incense stick of time. She truly felt the prestige that the name Tang Sanzang brought.

It turned out that truly virtuous and eminent monks could indeed make people admire them, disregarding appearances!

Outside the Scripture Transmission Pavilion, a young man in a monk's robe was sitting cross-legged. He had been sitting there all night, waiting for his Master to return and explain the matter to him.

Otherwise, if his heart was not pure, translating the true scriptures might defile the Origin of the true scriptures.

Sure enough, as the sky gradually brightened, the moon-white monk's robe had already brought another monastic closer. Bianji pressed his palms together, looking at the face behind Tang Ku with some surprise, then shifted his inquiring gaze to Tang Ku's face.

Tang Ku didn't speak, but instead turned to look at Wu Zhen. Wu Zhen's mood was surprisingly calm after walking around the city. Seeing Bianji, she was no longer as resistant as before. So she stepped forward and, imitating Tang Ku, bowed and said, "Senior Brother Bianji, thanks to Master's enlightenment, I have entered Buddhism. From now on, I will have no more ties with this Mortal World. The past events are like fleeting clouds; let them pass!"

Bianji looked at the rising sun and suddenly understood. He bowed deeply to Tang Sanzang: "Master, Disciple understands. Looking at things openly gives oneself a chance, and also gives others a chance... Disciple has decided that from today onwards, I will return to secular life and experience the Mortal World. I will continue to translate these scriptures, but no longer as a monk, but as a person of the secular world!"

"Hahaha, good, good, good. Letting go of your worries, rough paths will always become smooth... Poor Monk doesn't need to say more. Please do as you wish!"

With that, he swept his sleeves and walked with Wu Zhen towards the Qintian Prison. Bianji, meanwhile, took off his monk's robe, baring his upper body, and respectfully folded the monk's robe, placing it on the steps. Facing the sun, he walked towards the nearest lamb soup stall, thinking to himself, "I've been a vegetarian since birth for decades, I wonder what meat tastes like..."
