120: Iceberg Goddess
"She... she kicked a person flying with one foot? How much strength must that be!"
"Am I seeing things? That guy must weigh at least 140 jin, right? And he just flew out like that?"
"This is no goddess; this is clearly a Valkyrie!" A boy who had originally wanted to step forward and strike up a conversation quietly retracted his foot.
The girls were also in an uproar.
"Oh my god, did she kick him to death?"
"So... so cool!" a girl exclaimed, her eyes shining. "This is the first time I've seen such a cool girl!"
"That kick was awesome. If I had that skill, see which guy would dare harass me!"
Dorm Supervisor Auntie Wang was so scared her heart nearly jumped out of her chest.
"Oh my goodness!"
"How is this girl so good at fighting?"
"Kicking a person seven meters with one foot?"
"If something happens, we can't bear the responsibility!"
She hurriedly walked over to the boy, crouched down to check on him, full of anxiety.
If there really was a fatality, this dormitory building could forget about peace and quiet.
"Better stay away from this girl in the future. It's too frightening."
She felt a bit apprehensive, thinking Lei Jun was even more troublesome than those troublemaking boys.
Just as everyone was in a panic, the boy on the lawn suddenly moved, then slowly sat up, rubbing his chest with a dazed expression.
"He's not dead, he's not dead!"
Someone shouted, and only then did everyone breathe a sigh of relief.
"Good, good, as long as he's not dead, otherwise this would have been a huge incident."
"It seems the goddess showed restraint. She just taught him a lesson and didn't use excessive force."
"I wouldn't dare approach her casually in the future. Her combat power is too scary."
Lei Jun coldly swept her gaze over the crowd, who were standing there dumbfounded.
"Hmm?"
"Still not clearing the way?"
These words seemed to possess a magical power; the crowd automatically parted to make a path.
Under the crowd's awed gazes, Lei Jun led Lin Xiaoya away calmly, with no one daring to approach and disturb them again.
Following behind Lei Jun, Lin Xiaoya felt both shocked and admiring.
"Boss is truly amazing!"
"Not only is her family background illustrious, but her martial skills are also so extraordinary. Following someone like this, who would dare bully me at school in the future?"
Meanwhile, the boy who had been kicked sat on the ground, watching Lei Jun's receding figure. Far from being angry, he instead showed an even more infatuated expression: "Even when angry, she's so beautiful..."
From then on, Lei Jun's title of "Icy Mountain Goddess" spread like wildfire through Shanghai University.
No one dared to casually approach her to strike up a conversation anymore, but the number of people secretly admiring her grew day by day...
Leaving the dormitory area, Lei Jun and Lin Xiaoya arrived at the university district's most bustling pedestrian street.
It was the peak lunch hour, and the crowd was so dense people were almost shoulder to shoulder.
Groups of students crowded around roadside stalls, some munching contentedly on freshly bought skewers.
Others gathered around stalls selling accessories, picking and choosing. The girls' laughter mixed with the vendors' shouts, creating a particularly lively atmosphere.
The air was filled with various scents: the spicy freshness of grilled squid, the sweet aroma of milk tea, the oily fragrance of fried chicken, and the smoky air wafting from the roadside snack stalls, layering and enveloping her.
Lei Jun instinctively straightened her back, avoiding a boy who almost bumped into her.
She looked down at her custom-tailored formal suit, then at the students around her wearing sportswear and jeans, suddenly feeling a bit out of place.
She should have changed into more casual clothes. Standing out so much, she'd probably be stared at while eating later.
Lin Xiaoya, however, didn't mind at all. She pulled Lei Jun's arm and dove into the crowd: "Boss, look, that grilled cold noodle stall is super delicious, and the Takoyaki stall up ahead—the longer the line, the more authentic it is!"
She said this while deftly avoiding the crowd.
After browsing for a while, Lin Xiaoya finally led Lei Jun into a small restaurant that looked quite clean.
As soon as they pushed open the door, they heard overlapping greetings from inside. The place was almost full.
The owner, a bespectacled middle-aged man, greeted them with a smile.
Lin Xiaoya nodded, pulling Lei Jun to sit at a table in the corner, explaining: "Boss, I heard this restaurant was opened by a senior who graduated from our school. The taste is super authentic, the portions are generous, the prices are cheap, so students love coming here to eat."
She picked up the menu and handed it over.
"Order whatever you like. Their Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs, Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce, and Tomato Beef Brisket are all specialties!"
Lei Jun took the menu, glanced at the prices. The cheapest vegetable dish was only eight yuan, and the most expensive meat dish was just over thirty.
The prices were very affordable.
Without much hesitation, she ordered the specialty dishes Lin Xiaoya recommended and added a stir-fried seasonal vegetable dish.
The food arrived quickly. The Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs were glossy red, the sweet and sour aroma wafting straight to the nose; the Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce was savory and well-seasoned, perfect with rice; the Tomato Beef Brisket was stewed until tender, the broth rich and flavorful.
Lei Jun picked up a piece of rib and put it in her mouth. The meat was tender and fresh, the sweet and sour flavor just right—much tastier than she had imagined.
The taste of a home-style eatery also had its unique charm, possessing a bit more of that everyday life atmosphere compared to those deliberately refined feasts.
Just as she was focused on eating, Lin Xiaoya secretly looked up and noticed that almost all the boys in the restaurant had their eyes fixed on Lei Jun.
The boys at the table by the window were stealing glances at Lei Jun while whispering about something, occasionally nudging each other; a boy at the next table was completely spellbound, his chopsticks frozen mid-air.
Lin Xiaoya felt both proud and envious... proud that such an amazing goddess was her boss, envious that Lei Jun could become the center of attention wherever she went. That kind of inherent grace and beauty was something she could never learn.
Lei Jun naturally noticed those gazes; she was long accustomed to being stared at.
After finishing the meal, the two settled the bill. They ate their fill for just over fifty yuan.
Then, Lin Xiaoya suggested going to the nearby supermarket to buy some daily necessities, like laundry detergent and towels. Lei Jun nodded in agreement.
The supermarket was also packed with students. The shelves were filled with a dazzling array of goods, mostly affordable domestic brands.
Lei Jun picked up a bottle of laundry detergent, looked at the ingredient list. Having no particular preference, she just took one based on Lin Xiaoya's recommendation.
For towels, she chose the most common white style, thinking simple and clean was fine.
After shopping, the two walked back to the dormitory carrying shopping bags. There were fewer students on the road now. The afternoon sun filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground...
Back in the dorm, Lin Xiaoya proactively took charge of putting things away. She placed the laundry detergent in the bathroom, hung the towels on the balcony, and put the compressed face masks into Lei Jun's drawer.
Lei Jun sat on the chair watching her busy, feeling a bit guilty. She wanted to help but was pushed back by Lin Xiaoya: "Boss, you just sit and rest! I'll handle these little things!"
Lei Jun had no choice. She took out a bag of peanuts from her bag, started shelling and eating them herself, and casually handed a few to Lin Xiaoya.
