296: Wait a minute
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the courtyard was stunned, and the chatter erupted once again.
"No way? Still not showing?? How big is this game going to get! He's already bet the factory, yet he's still not showing his hand and wants to keep calling? Atapong has truly gone mad!"
"My god, this gambling match is getting more and more intense! I've never seen such a high-stakes game in my life!"
"These two are really betting their lives! If they keep going, they might end up betting their houses or even their wives and children!"
Atapong ignored the crowd's discussions, treating them as nothing more than barking dogs and hot air.
He had only one thought in his mind now: he had to beat Su Cha and make him pay the price.
He pointed at Su Cha and snapped, "If I don't show, let's see what you do! Weren't you so good at calling? Keep calling then!"
Su Cha gave a cold laugh, his face showing no sign of panic. "Cut the crap. Are you sure you're not showing???"
Atapong was taken aback; he hadn't expected Su Cha to be so calm.
He glared at Su Cha and gritted his teeth. "You brat! You're not thinking of dragging your whole family into debt just to come up with the money and try to bluff your way through, are you?"
He felt certain that Su Cha was bluffing and definitely couldn't come up with any more money.
As long as he refused to show and kept raising the stakes, Su Cha would eventually run out of tricks and be forced to fold. Then, he would win everything back.
Su Cha snorted and said dismissively, "Mind your own business! Just worry about yourself. Why should I tell you?"
"Have you gambled your brains away???" Su Cha retorted bluntly.
Hearing Su Cha's words, the people in the courtyard couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Well said, Su Cha! Someone should have put Atapong in his place a long time ago!"
"Hahaha, Atapong was shut down so hard he couldn't even speak. How satisfying!"
"Excellent! Su Cha is a real man! He's got backbone! If it were me, I'd go head-to-head with Atapong until the end too. You can't back down against someone who looks down on others like that!"
"Exciting, it's getting more and more exciting! I'm even getting a bit nervous. I wonder if Su Cha can hold out."
"Wait, this is getting way too out of hand! I'm almost tempted to call the police!"
"Hey, hey, why would you call the police? Can't you just watch the show quietly??? It would be such a shame to miss such a spectacular scene!"
Su Cha looked at Atapong coldly, his eyes full of contempt. "Are we showing or betting? Hurry up! Stop stalling like a coward! Speak up!"
Atapong's father, Songphong, couldn't handle the crushing tension. He swallowed hard, his throat feeling parched.
He looked at Atapong and pleaded, "It's come to this, so just show your hand! Don't call anymore. If this continues, something terrible is really going to happen!"
All he wanted now was to end this crazy gambling match quickly. Whether they won or lost, it was better than dragging it out like this.
If it went on any longer, someone might actually end up dead.
When Atapong heard the suggestion to show, he immediately grew frantic and shouted, "Wait!"
Songphong, seeing his son's erratic behavior, also lost his temper. "What now! After all this, what more do you want!"
Atapong stared at Su Cha, his teeth clenched and his eyes filled with resentment. "Nothing. I just feel that we shouldn't show our hands yet!"
Everyone present was shocked. They hadn't expected Atapong to still refuse to show and want to keep calling even now.
This man had truly gone completely insane!
Songphong flew into a rage. Shaking with anger at his foolish son, he pointed at Atapong and cursed, "Atapong, are you stupid? Have you lost your mind?"
"If you don't show, that bastard Su Cha will definitely find a way to trick you again! He'll keep raising the stakes until he's swindled everything you own!" Songphong said, frustrated by his son's failure to live up to expectations.
Atapong snorted.
"I know! I don't need your nagging!"
Nala was so angry she slammed her hand on the table with a loud 'thwack', causing the chips to jump.
"You know???"
She shouted at Atapong.
"If you know, then why aren't you showing???"
"Are you trying to kill your father and me with anger? If you lose the factory, our whole family is finished! Do you realize that!"
Songphong picked up where his daughter-in-law Nala left off, pointing at his son Atapong in anger. "What? Are you going to try and borrow money to keep calling just like Su Cha did??? Is there no end to this! You won't be satisfied until you've completely ruined this family, will you!"
Atapong looked at everyone, a trace of a crazed smile appearing on his face as he sneered, "That's right! I'm not done with that bastard Su Cha yet!"
"I'm going to go head-to-head with him until the bitter end! He wants to win my money and my factory? No way!"
Atapong roared.
"I'll make him realize that he's still too green to challenge me, Atapong!"
Songphong clutched his chest in anger, feeling as if his heart were about to leap out.
"You... you... you! I... I...!"
He pointed at Atapong, unable to form a complete sentence for a long time, trembling with rage.
The people in the courtyard began to whisper among themselves again, and this time the noise was even louder.
"Good, good, good! Neither of them should back down! That's how it gets interesting! I want to see who loses in the end. Whoever loses won't just become a pauper; their whole family will be ruined along with this game!"
"Atapong is truly insane! Completely mad! To think he wants to go all the way against Su Cha—he's driving himself into a dead end!"
"Su Cha is quite something too, actually managing to push Atapong to this point. But if he keeps calling, the risk is enormous! If he loses, how will he pay back the online loans he took?"
"Who cares! This is their own choice; they can't blame anyone else! Let's just sit back and enjoy the show!"
Atapong pointed at Su Cha and said coldly, "Do you know why I'm the most successful one of our generation?"
Without waiting for Su Cha to answer, he continued, "Because I have more guts than you!"
He roared.
"And because I have more balls! I'm more willing to fight!"
With that, he stepped forward and patted Su Cha's shoulder, his tone dripping with disdain. "And because I'm not like you bunch of worthless country relatives! I have ambition and drive. You lot only deserve to stay in this poor mountain gully, never being able to make something of yourselves!"
Su Cha disgustedly slapped away Atapong's dirty hand, looking at him with cold eyes. "Don't touch me! And stop bragging. So what if you're successful? You're still just an unrefined idiot!"
When Atapong's father, Songphong, heard his son talking nonsense and insulting their relatives again, he rushed forward to intervene. "Atapong, stop talking nonsense! Haven't you made enough people hate you already? Shut your mouth right now!"
