170: Is this girl a monster?

Su Qing also frowned, reaching out to pull Su Ya to her side to protect her. "Everyone stay close, don't get separated in the crowd."

She looked at the steps ahead, which were completely blocked, feeling a bit worried. With so many people, climbing would be quite a struggle.

Lei Ying, Lei Yue, and Lei Cai immediately formed a small circle, protecting Lei Jun and the others in the middle.

Lei Ying's sharp gaze swept across the surroundings, quietly blocking anyone who got close to ensure there was enough space around Lei Jun.

At this moment, golden light spilled onto the bricks of the Great Wall, and Lei Jun felt warm and cozy.

Besides the noise of the crowd, she could hear the rustling of leaves carried by the mountain wind, mixed with the shouting of vendors selling cultural products nearby; it felt very lively.

The fresh scent of mountain greenery lingered at the tip of her nose, mixed with the slightly old, earthy smell unique to ancient bricks. One breath made her chest feel refreshed.

The sun shone on her arms, warm but not scorching, so comfortable that she couldn't help but stretch her shoulders.

This feels good!

Her originally irritable mood due to the crowd was mostly dissipated by the morning sun and the mountain breeze.

She noticed many people staring at her silver hair—some with curiosity, some with amazement, and others secretly holding up their phones to take pictures.

She had long been used to such gazes, so she just lightly arched an eyebrow and didn't pay much mind. Turning to Lin Xiaoya, she said, "Let's go, we'll start climbing from here; there might be slightly fewer people."

After just a few steps, she heard a slightly raspy male voice nearby, speaking quickly with a hint of pride: "My foreign friends, you've certainly come to the right place!"

"This Badaling Great Wall is the best-preserved section of our Ming Great Wall. Construction began in the eighteenth year of the Hongzhi reign of the Ming Dynasty, making it over five hundred years old!"

"Look at these walls; they average over seven meters high and five meters wide at the top, enough for five or six soldiers to walk side-by-side!"

Lei Jun glanced over curiously. The speaker was a middle-aged man wearing a tour guide license and a blue uniform, holding a small flag, and enthusiastically introducing the site to two high-bridged foreigners beside him.

Those two foreigners were wearing backpacks and holding cameras, but they weren't looking at the wall much; instead, they were staring intently at her.

The guide continued incessantly: "The bricks beneath our feet each weigh over thirty catties. Back then, there were no cranes, and everything was transported by manpower. It took many craftsmen over a decade to finish this section!"

"Look at the beacon towers in the distance. During wartime, if a fire was lit, the signal could reach the Capital in just a few hours!"

He even patted the city wall as he spoke.

"This wall doesn't just keep out enemies; it can also block floods. The design is exceptionally scientific—it's the crystallization of our ancestors' wisdom!"

The guide talked until his throat was dry and even specifically fished a water bottle out of his bag for a sip, thinking he would receive amazement from the foreigners. However, when he turned around, he saw the two foreigners weren't looking at the wall at all; their eyes were fixed straight in Lei Jun's direction.

They were even muttering something in their own language, their tone full of admiration.

The guide followed their gaze and happened to catch the moment Lei Jun turned around. Her silver hair shimmered in the sunlight, and her well-fitting windbreaker accentuated her tall, straight figure. Even in a crowd, she seemed to have her own spotlight.

The guide was stunned.

No wonder. He finally understood why the two foreigners couldn't listen to his introduction.

Lei Jun withdrew her gaze and began to climb the Great Wall.

After just a few steps, she felt footsteps following behind her. She glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw a young man in sportswear following at a moderate distance, his eyes glancing at her from time to time.

She didn't take it seriously and continued upward, but the further she went, the more something felt off. The footsteps behind her grew more numerous. Turning her head, she saw—good heavens—a string of men following their group.

Each one pretended to be looking at the scenery, but their gazes kept sticking to her.

Lin Xiaoya also noticed and tugged at Lei Jun's arm, whispering, "Sister Lei, there are so many people following us, all looking at you."

Lei Jun smiled.

She had an idea.

She wanted to see if these people could persist!

She accelerated slightly. The once gentle steps began to steepen, and the crowd behind her indeed sped up as well.

The people behind her saw through Lei Jun's plan.

However, Lei Jun was just a frail-looking girl; comparing stamina with them?

They were overthinking it!

"This girl looks quite frail, but her stamina is decent. However, I work out all year round; how could I not keep up with a little girl?"

"This girl's aura is incredible; I must take a few cinematic shots. It's good that she's walking faster; I can get some dynamic ones. It's worth getting a bit tired; this set of photos will definitely go viral."

"She's dressed quite professionally, but unfortunately, she lacks experience. Accelerating right at the start means she'll definitely run out of energy later. My gear is all custom-made; compared to her, I'm bound to win."

"Even my son is younger than this girl. If I can't keep up, it would be too embarrassing. Just hold on a bit longer; she's definitely about to fail."

"This girl is ruthless, intentionally speeding up to shake people off. I want to see when these guys trying to hit on her will give up. When someone collapses from exhaustion later, I'll take a video for my moments, and I'll definitely get lots of likes."

Lei Jun heard these reactions clearly and couldn't help but smile.

Quite confident, aren't you? Fine, let's compete and see if you can still smile in a bit!

She accelerated a bit more, and the already steep steps became even harder to climb.

At first, the people behind could barely keep up, but after walking for about twenty minutes, different voices appeared in the crowd.

Lei Jun didn't need to look back; just by listening to the footsteps and breathing, she knew someone couldn't hold on anymore.

A middle-aged man was drenched in sweat, his T-shirt soaked through and sticking to his back. He leaned against the wall, gasping for air.

Holy crap, is this girl a monster?

Climbing for so long without slowing down?

Had I known, I wouldn't have followed; my legs are almost shaking!

He wanted to give up, but seeing Lei Jun's back ahead, he was unwilling to concede and gritted his teeth to continue moving.

Others pulled out tissues to wipe their sweat, completely bewildered.

"Something's not right. Her stamina is way too good, isn't it? I've been working out for so many years and I'm almost at my limit, yet she, a little girl, acts like it's nothing? Could she be a professional athlete?"

"Dammit, I'm almost dying! If I'd known, I wouldn't have chased. This isn't looking for a partner; this is looking for suffering!"

"How on earth does she do it? Is she on performance-enhancing drugs?"

"I can't do it anymore; I really can't hold on. Competing for face with a little girl is truly asking for trouble. She must be trained; my old bones can't compare."

"Whoa, this girl is really something! Over fifty people were following, and now only half are left, right? She's actually still walking so steadily without even the sound of heavy breathing. That's insane!"

Someone took out their phone, quickly snapped a photo of Lei Jun's back, and posted to their moments.

"Encountered a Silver-haired Beauty with peak stamina on the Great Wall; over fifty strong men were left questioning their lives."
