323: Second brother, do you still remember?

Songphong was truly scared. He was afraid that if Atapong hesitated any longer, Su Cha would get completely angry, and if he really called the police, their family would be ruined.

He only hoped that Atapong would quickly pick up the wine glass, toast Wenchalong, apologize, and settle the matter. Atapong took a deep breath; in the end, profit outweighed pride.

He reached out, picked up the wine glass, and slowly turned around to look at Wenchalong, who was standing to the side.

Seeing Wenchalong's weak appearance, the sense of humiliation in his heart grew stronger.

"First Uncle, I was wrong earlier. I shouldn't have become arrogant and looked down on you just because I earned some money, nor should I have forced Su Cha to gamble and humiliate your family." Atapong's voice trembled slightly, filled with shame. "I apologize to you!"

After speaking, he raised his glass and bowed deeply to Wenchalong.

Seeing that Atapong had finally offered a toast and apologized, Songphong quickly grabbed a bottle of wine, poured a glass, walked up to Wenchalong, raised his glass, and said, "Elder Brother, it was Second Brother who was wrong before. Second Brother was too biased and indulged Atapong too much. Atapong and I apologize to you!"

Wenchalong stared at Atapong, who was bowing and apologizing to him, and then at Songphong, who was holding the wine glass. He was completely stunned.

He never imagined that Atapong and Songphong would actually apologize and offer him a toast.

An indescribable surge of emotion welled up in his heart, making his whole body tremble.

He thought, how many years has it been? How many years since he had received any respect from Atapong's family?

In the past, whenever Atapong saw him, he would either mock him or boss him around. Songphong always favored Atapong and would never say a word, no matter how excessive Atapong's actions were.

Now, they were actually apologizing and toasting him. How could he not be moved?

Wenchalong quickly stepped forward, stopped Songphong who was about to drink, and said with a choked voice, "Second Brother, you are my own blood brother! How can you toast me!"

Tears glistened in the corners of his eyes as he looked at Songphong, then at the surrounding crowd, and said, "Our two families share blood thicker than water; we are all one family. How did things get to this point?"

The surrounding crowd was stunned by this scene, and then began discussing it, their tones full of incomprehension.

"No way? Is Wenchalong going to forgive them?"

"Oh my god, Wenchalong is too spineless! Atapong's family bullied him so much before, and now just an apology and a toast, and he's going to forgive them?"

"I'm really speechless about Wenchalong. He's a typical case of forgetting the pain once the wound heals. Atapong's family will definitely bully him again later!"

"Su Cha finally managed to turn the situation around, but with Wenchalong softening up like this, won't all their previous efforts be wasted?"

"Sigh, Wenchalong is just too honest and values family ties too much, which is why Atapong's family has bullied him for so many years."

Lei Jun watched Wenchalong's reaction, unsurprised.

She had long realized that Wenchalong was an emotional and soft-hearted person. Although usually weak, he highly valued family relationships.

With Atapong and Songphong apologizing like this, he was bound to soften up.

Wenchalong completely ignored the crowd's discussion. He held Songphong's hand, tears streaming down his face uncontrollably, and cried out.

"Second Brother, do you still remember? When we were little, our family was poor and could only afford to send one person to school. I said my mind wasn't as sharp as yours, so I gave the opportunity to you. Actually, I really wanted to study! I dreamed of going to school and gaining knowledge."

"But I knew that our family conditions were poor and we could only afford to send one person to school. You were smarter and more promising than me, so letting you study was the right thing to do."

Wenchalong burst into loud sobs.

"It's true that I've farmed my whole life, haven't achieved much, and have brought shame to the family. But my son, my son Su Cha, he really isn't a good-for-nothing!"

"Although Su Cha hasn't earned big money or achieved great things, he knows how to behave, how to respect others, and how to be filial to me. He is much better than Atapong!"

Wenchalong continued speaking while crying.

"Although Atapong earned money and became a big boss, he forgot his roots, forgot where he came from, and forgot that we are family!"

Songphong felt terrible listening to Wenchalong's words. He sighed and said, "Elder Brother, please stop talking. It was Second Brother who was dishonest, and Second Brother who let you down, who let your family down."

Wenchalong turned his head and looked at Atapong, who was still hanging his head, and spoke.

"Atapong, your First Uncle watched you grow up. I treated you well from childhood, didn't I? When you were little, I often bought you candy and took you to the river to catch fish and shrimp. When you started your business and your funds were tight, didn't your First Uncle borrow money for you to use?"

"A person shouldn't forget their roots!" Wenchalong said earnestly. "How did you become so arrogant and conceited now that you're a big boss with money, and why aren't you as close as before? We are family!"

Wenchalong burst into loud sobs, his voice full of grievance and bewilderment: "I truly don't understand why we ended up like this! We are all family; we should be helping and supporting each other, not bullying and hurting each other!"

Su Cha and Su Qing quickly stepped forward, supporting Wenchalong, who was trembling from crying, and said in unison, "Dad, please don't get too agitated. Take care of your health."

Su Cha also felt terrible. Seeing his father cry so sadly, the anger in his heart dissipated considerably.

He knew that his father genuinely valued family ties and did not want to completely sever the relationship with Songphong's family.

Su Qing also felt distressed seeing her father's sadness. She knew her father had endured a lot of grievances over the years, and finally speaking his mind was a good thing.

She turned to look at Lei Jun, her eyes showing a hint of gratitude. If Lei Jun hadn't intervened, her brother definitely wouldn't have won today, and her father wouldn't have received apologies from Atapong and Songphong.

Listening to Wenchalong's words, Atapong was also filled with guilt and self-reproach.

He recalled Wenchalong's kindness to him when he was little, and Wenchalong's help when he started his business.

His legs suddenly went weak, and he immediately knelt down before Wenchalong, saying with a choked voice, "First Uncle, I apologize to you, I apologize to Su Cha, and I apologize to everyone. I know I was wrong, I truly know I was wrong!"

As he spoke, he raised his hand and slapped himself hard several times. The sounds of "Slap! Slap! Slap!" echoed in the courtyard.

"I shouldn't have forgotten my roots, I shouldn't have bullied your family, and I shouldn't have looked down on you. First Uncle, please forgive me!"

Seeing Atapong kneeling, kowtowing, and hitting himself hard, Wenchalong quickly stepped forward, stopped him, and said, "Atapong, stop hitting yourself. Your First Uncle knows you made a mistake, and I forgive you!"
