421: End of Chapter 421
In the distance, Lin Xiaoya ran over holding her phone: "Jun Jun! Quick! We need to photograph the sunset! It's incredibly beautiful! Come quickly!"
Lei Jun stood up, leading Ah Fu toward the stretch of beach dyed golden by the setting sun. Behind her were her partners, her "family," and her most precious possessions in this world, aside from wealth and power.
The sunset was beautiful, but what was even more beautiful was having someone to watch it with.
...
Over the next few days, the RV continued its journey.
On the third night, they watched the stars in a Starry Sky Nature Reserve. The mountaintop campsite had zero light pollution; the Milky Way poured down like a waterfall, and every star was clearly visible. Tony wrapped himself in a blanket, looking up at the starry sky and murmuring, "This is true art... art that humans can never create..." Lin Xiaoya was busy photographing star trails while Qin Yu helped her set up the tripod. Su Qing and Su Ya boiled hot cocoa and distributed it to everyone. Lei Jun sat on a lounge chair wrapped in a blanket with Ah Fu lying at her feet, together gazing up at the vast universe. In that moment, she felt her own insignificance, but also her good fortune.
On the fourth day, they went to the Cliffside Cafe. The cafe was built on the edge of a cliff, and the abyss below could be seen through the glass floor. Tony was so scared he didn't dare walk, being teased by Lin Xiaoya the whole way. Lei Jun, however, was very calm, holding a cup of coffee and looking at the distant sea view, enjoying this rare combination of thrill and tranquility.
On the fifth day, they arrived at a colorful small town. The houses in the town were painted in various bright colors, like a fairy tale world. Tony was in his element, changing into various outfits to take photos in every corner. Lin Xiaoya dragged Qin Yu around to check in at all the popular spots. Su Qing and Su Ya bought some trinkets at a handicraft shop on the street. Lei Jun led Ah Fu, who had followed her the whole way, slowly walking through the multicolored streets, soaking in the fairy-tale atmosphere.
On the sixth day, they relaxed at a Forest Hot Spring. Soaking in the warm spring water surrounded by dense forest, with the occasional sound of birds chirping, it felt like a paradise away from the world. Tony wore a face mask while soaking in the pool, humming comfortably. Lin Xiaoya and Qin Yu had a water fight in the adjacent pool and were laughingly stopped by Su Qing. Lei Jun closed her eyes, feeling the comfort of the hot spring water enveloping her body, while Ah Fu lay on a rock by the pool, vigilantly guarding her.
On the seventh day, the RV set out on the return journey.
Inside the vehicle, everyone was still lively, but there was a hint of reluctance in the air—the journey was coming to an end.
Tony flipped through the photos on his phone, sighing as he looked at them: "Oh My God! I took three thousand photos in these seven days! Every single one is art! I'm going to hold a photography exhibition! The theme will be 'Traveling with the Muse'!"
Lin Xiaoya was also organizing her materials: "I posted twenty moments and gained thirty thousand followers! It was so worth it! Jun Jun, let's go out and play again next time, okay?"
Qin Yu said with a smile, "When is next time? I'm already starting to look forward to it."
Su Qing and Su Ya were already discussing what new menus and storage solutions to prepare for the next trip.
Lei Yue was still processing her work emails, but she would occasionally look up to see the scenery outside the window. Lei Ying focused on driving, occasionally checking the situation in the cabin through the rearview mirror.
Lei Jun leaned back on the sofa with Ah Fu lying beside her. Listening to everyone's laughter and chatter, a wave of warmth welled up in her heart.
During these seven days, she had seen many beautiful sights, but what she cherished even more was the company of these people. Tony's passion and artistic sense, Lin Xiaoya's vitality and sincerity, Qin Yu's steadiness and perceptiveness, Su Qing's gentleness and attentiveness, Su Ya's earnestness and cuteness, Lei Yue's calmness and reliability, Lei Ying's loyalty and professionalism... every person, in their own way, made the team more complete and her life richer.
She remembered the thought she had before setting out—wanting to take everyone out to play and relax. Looking at it now, that decision was absolutely right. These seven days were not just about relaxation, but also about making the emotional bonds of this team tighter. No matter what storms they encountered in the future, as long as they remembered this journey they took together—the bonfire under the stars, the sunset by the sea, the laughter in the hot springs—everyone's hearts would be closer.
Her phone vibrated; it was a message from Lei Jun: "Miss Lei, was the trip pleasant?"
Lei Jun replied: "Very pleasant. Thank you for your concern."
Soon, Jack Ma also sent a message: "I heard you went traveling in a 180 million yuan RV? When are you taking me along for a ride?"
Lei Jun smiled and replied: "There will be an opportunity."
She put down her phone, watching the scenery receding outside the window and then looking at her lively partners in the cabin, a sense of unprecedented satisfaction rising in her heart.
Wealth is certainly pleasing, and power is certainly desirable, but what can truly make a person feel happy and fulfilled are these real, warm, and tangible emotions. These people, these moments, and these memories are her most precious gains in this world, aside from the system and her wealth.
Ah Fu looked up and nudged her hand. Lei Jun looked down into its clear eyes and said softly, "Ah Fu, do you know? I seem to have... found a bit of the meaning of life."
Ah Fu gave a "woof," and its tail wagged even more happily.
...
The seven-day journey officially came to a close.
The car door opened, and everyone got off one after another. Although their faces showed a bit of fatigue, there were more smiles of mixed satisfaction and reluctance.
Tony was the first to jump off the car, still tightly clutching his phone, flipping through the photos taken over the seven days and muttering, "Three thousand... a full three thousand photos! Oh My God! Every single one is a work of art! I'm going to hold an exhibition! I must hold an exhibition!"
He held his pinky finger high, his eyes filled with the characteristic fanaticism of an artist.
Lin Xiaoya dragged her suitcase, still editing a video as she walked, muttering, "This one for Douyin, that one for Weibo, this one for RED... there's too much material, I need to plan this out properly."
Her face was flushed with excitement; gaining thirty thousand followers in these seven days made her grin from ear to ear.
She calculated in her head that once she finished editing and posting these videos, her followers would surely increase by another wave.
By then, she would be a minor internet celebrity.
And by following Sister Lei, she might even become a truly top-tier blogger.
Qin Yu helped move the luggage down piece by piece. Although he was sweating from the exertion, a smile remained on his face. It was so good to be able to go out and play with Sister Lei, see so much beautiful scenery, and meet so many interesting people.
When he got back, he could show off to his dad. His dad had always told him to learn well from Sister Lei. Although he hadn't learned anything "serious" on this trip, seeing how Sister Lei interacted with people, led the team, and made decisions at critical moments—these were things that couldn't be learned from books.
