156: So easy
The assistant added.
"This club usually doesn't accept walk-in guests; it's only open to members. The membership threshold is very high—either entrepreneurs worth hundreds of millions or individuals with special status. The facilities inside are top-tier, and the service is very private, so no one will disturb you."
"Billiards?"
Lei Jun's eyes lit up.
It had been a long time since she played billiards!
Since becoming a girl, she hadn't played billiards yet.
Her hands were itching, so she said,
"Then let's go play billiards for a while."
Seeing that Lei Jun had a clear goal, the assistant immediately responded, "Alright, Ms. Lei, I'll arrange it right away!"
She immediately took out her phone and contacted the club's Person in Charge, requesting that the best billiards private room be reserved.
However, the Person in Charge on the other end of the phone seemed a bit troubled.
"Assistant Wang, I'm very sorry!
"The billiards rooms at this time... have indeed all been booked. Could you see if we can arrange other activities? Or perhaps come back a bit later?"
Assistant Wang's face darkened instantly, and her tone became exceptionally firm.
"Manager Li, I hope you understand that the one we are hosting today is an incredibly important guest of our Ali Group!"
"Chairman Ma personally instructed that we must satisfy all of the guest's requirements!"
"I don't care what method you use now, you must immediately vacate a room for me!"
"If the guest's mood is dampened, can you, and your club, afford to take responsibility for that?"
On the other end of the phone, the club's Manager Li instantly broke into a cold sweat.
He knew all too well how much influence Ali had in Hangzhou City; they were definitely a top-tier client that their club could not afford to offend.
"It's over, it's over... why did it have to be at this time!"
He complained bitterly in his heart, but after weighing the pros and cons, he knew he had to make a choice.
Offending other members would at most mean an apology and compensation.
Offending Ali, especially a guest personally looked after by Jack Ma, would lead to unimaginable consequences.
"Ass... Assistant Wang, please don't worry!"
"I'll arrange it right away, okay!"
While wiping his sweat, he immediately set to work.
Sigh... he would likely need to use some unconventional means to coordinate or even persuade existing reservations to cancel.
"As soon as possible."
Assistant Wang finished and hung up the phone.
Less than half a minute later, the Person in Charge called back, his tone apologetic.
"It's been coordinated; a VIP billiards room has been vacated. You can just bring the guest over, and we will arrange for dedicated staff to receive you."
Assistant Wang hung up, a smile immediately appearing on her face, and turned to explain to Lei Jun, "Director Lei, the room has been arranged. We can go straight there."
Lei Jun had heard the conversation between the assistant and the Person in Charge clearly.
It was just playing billiards; there was no need to make such a big fuss and make things difficult for the other party.
"Actually, there's no need for such trouble. If the rooms are full, we can just change to another place to play billiards; it doesn't have to be this one."
Assistant Wang immediately shook her head and said nervously, "That won't do!"
"Chairman Ma specifically instructed me before we left that I must make sure you are satisfied and that there are no mishaps; even the smallest matter cannot be handled carelessly. If you are unhappy because we couldn't find a room, I won't be able to answer to Chairman Ma."
She was very anxious, fearing she might do something wrong, which would not only lead to criticism from Chairman Ma but might also affect the relationship between Ali and this mysterious new shareholder.
Assistant Wang waved her hands hurriedly, her face showing a hint of fear and determination: "No trouble at all, no trouble at all!"
"Ms. Lei, please don't say that!"
"Chairman Ma repeatedly exhorted me to host you well and satisfy all your requirements."
"If I can't even handle a small matter like this, I... I won't be able to account for it when I go back."
As she spoke, she nervously wiped the cold sweat from her forehead.
Was she joking? If Chairman Ma found out that Director Lei went home disappointed because of a room, would she still have her job?
No matter what, it had to be arranged!
Seeing Assistant Wang's nervous look of "if I don't finish the task, I'll have to bring my head to see him," Lei Jun shook her head helplessly and stopped insisting.
"Alright, then let's go to the billiards room."
She said flatly, turning her gaze out the window.
She was somewhat looking forward to it, wanting to try what kind of control her current body—which had been enhanced and had coordination reaching the human limit—could show on the billiards table... Soon, the car stopped at the entrance of "Cloud Realm Club." When Lei Jun pushed the door open and got out, her gaze swept over the security guards on duty at the entrance... standing tall with sharp eyes, they were clearly a professional team.
Walking into the interior of the club, the warm yellow lighting paired with wooden decor, and the faint scent of cigars mixed with coffee in the air, everywhere exuded low-key luxury.
Assistant Wang led them toward the billiards room. When she pushed the door open, a brand-new snooker table came into view; the cloth was so flat there wasn't a single wrinkle, and the cues were neatly hung on the wall.
Lei Jun picked up a cue and asked Assistant Wang to play with her.
Assistant Wang: "Director Lei, would you like to break first?"
Lei Jun nodded, bent over, propped the cue with her right hand, and squinted her left eye to aim at the cue ball.
She could clearly feel the subtle contractions of her arm muscles; even her breathing was perfectly synchronized with the rhythm of her exertion... Her body, enhanced by the system to the limit of Earthlings, seemed to come with "aim assist." The cue ball's path and the angle for hitting the target ball were instantly and clearly presented in her mind.
"Bang!"
The cue ball was struck accurately, hitting the pack of red balls with just the right amount of force. The red balls scattered, and one of them dropped steadily into the pocket.
Lei Jun straightened up, a hint of surprise flashing through her heart.
It was actually this easy?
The force and angles that required repeated practice to master before were now as natural as instinct.
"Director Lei, your break was too accurate!" Assistant Wang widened her eyes in surprise.
Lei Ying also raised an eyebrow, clearly not expecting the young miss to have this skill.
The following game was more like Lei Jun's personal show.
She didn't need to think deliberately; her body would automatically adjust to the optimal posture. Every stroke was as precise as mechanical calibration, the white ball's positioning was perfect, and the red and colored balls dropped into the pockets one after another.
Assistant Wang and Lei Ying took turns playing, but their chances to even touch the ball were pitifully few... The speed at which Lei Jun cleared the table in a single break was faster than the speed at which they set up the balls!
Lei Jun looked at the fewer and fewer balls on the table, her heart full of satisfaction.
This sense of absolute control over her body was even greater than the ease she felt during military training.
Military training was a crushing display of endurance, while billiards was a manifestation of precision. Every pot felt like it was validating the power of the system's enhancement.
"So after reaching the limit of physical quality, even this kind of skill-based sport can be handled easily."
She thought to herself, the corners of her mouth unable to resist curling up slightly.
After playing a few rounds of billiards, Lei Jun felt she hadn't had enough, and her gaze swept over the club's activity guide.
The words "Rock Climbing" instantly caught her eye.
She had always wanted to try this kind of sport that required full-body coordination, and now was the perfect opportunity.
