178: Too dangerous

Sister Lei was a major shareholder in two trillion-dollar companies; her status was so precious. If she got injured from horse riding, how could she explain it to others?

As the follower by Sister Lei's side, she was being far too incompetent.

Lin Xiaoya grew more panicked the more she thought about it. She quickly grabbed Lei Jun's hand, her tone extremely urgent.

"Sister Lei, don't mess around!"

"How can you not have a coach for your first time riding?"

"You haven't ridden before, so you don't know. Horses look gentle, but they're actually very strong. If you don't sit steady and fall off, what will we do?"

"And also, if the horse gets spooked and starts running..."

She shook her head vigorously as she spoke.

"I fell several times when I first learned to ride a bike, and riding a horse is much harder than that!"

"Look at how professional Coach Chen is. Let him teach you. At least you'll know how to mount, how to hold the reins, and how to stop the horse. That's the only way to be safe!"

"Sister Lei, safety first!"

"Listen to me, just get a coach. Just one lesson to learn the basics before riding on your own, okay?"

Lin Xiaoya pulled on Lei Jun's arm, her tone pleading, fearing that Lei Jun wouldn't listen.

Beside them, Chen Feng had just helped lead over that brown Warmblood horse for Lin Xiaoya. He was pondering how to find a chance to talk to Lei Jun when he suddenly heard her say it was her first time riding and she didn't want a coach. He was completely stunned.

What?

First time riding?

And no need for a coach's guidance?

Chen Feng was shocked at first.

Riding a horse was no small matter. Even with the gentlest horse, a first-timer could easily panic. If the grip on the reins was wrong or the body's center of gravity shifted, things could go wrong.

He had seen many first-time riders. Even with a coach watching closely, some were still too scared to move, let alone without any guidance.

But in the next second, shock turned into ecstasy, and a flame of excitement flared up in his heart.

An opportunity!

This was definitely a great chance to get close to Lei Jun!

Before, he had regretted only being able to coach Lin Xiaoya without a chance to talk much with Lei Jun. Now, she was a first-timer refusing a coach—this was practically a gift from the heavens.

He had to persuade her!

He had to make her agree to get a coach, and he had to be the one she chose!

Chen Feng hurried forward, a professional and sincere smile on his face. His tone was much more enthusiastic than when he spoke to Lin Xiaoya: "Ms. Lei, did you say this is your first time riding? Then you really must have a coach's guidance, otherwise, it's too dangerous."

He calculated in his mind that he needed to be specific about the dangers to make her take it seriously, but not so scary that she'd be put off riding altogether.

Then he launched into a flurry of explanations.

As Chen Feng spoke, he deliberately slowed down to make his words more persuasive.

"Don't worry, I'm very experienced in teaching beginners. I won't make you do anything difficult. I'll just teach you the basics: mounting, holding the reins, turning, and stopping. You can learn it all in just over half an hour. Once you've learned those, you can ride on your own. It'll be safe and fun—isn't that great?"

After speaking, Chen Feng stared intently at Lei Jun, afraid she would refuse. He was already thinking that if she hesitated, he would offer more incentives, like a discount or extra time. In short, he had to make her agree.

Lei Jun listened to Lin Xiaoya's nagging persuasion and Chen Feng's non-stop analysis.

She knew Lin Xiaoya was genuinely worried about her, so she didn't interrupt and listened patiently.

Lin Xiaoya's concerns weren't unfounded. For an ordinary first-time rider, those issues could indeed occur without a coach's guidance.

But she was different.

She had the God-tier Horsemanship skill.

As for Chen Feng, Lei Jun saw through his intentions at a glance.

Thinking of this, Lei Jun looked at Lin Xiaoya and patted the hand holding her arm, her tone gentle: "I know you're worried about me. It's fine."

Then she turned to Chen Feng and nodded: "Alright, you don't need to teach me anything. Just watch from the side. We'll see if anything happens."

Hearing this, Lin Xiaoya immediately breathed a sigh of relief, her worry mostly fading: "Really? That's great!"

"With Coach Chen watching nearby, I'll feel much better."

As long as a coach was there, even if Sister Lei ran into trouble, he could help immediately. That would be much safer.

When Chen Feng heard Lei Jun agree to let him watch from the side, he was overjoyed.

Although he wasn't officially her coach, being able to stay by her side and be in close contact was already much better than before!

As long as he could stay near her, he might find a chance to strike up a conversation and make her remember him.

He nodded quickly, his tone even more enthusiastic: "Right away, Ms. Lei!"

"Don't worry, I'll be watching right there. If anything happens, just call me, and I'll be there instantly!"

After saying that, Lei Jun's gaze landed on a horse at the very back of the stables.

It was a black Thoroughbred, tall with sleek muscle lines and a coat so shiny it looked like black silk.

Its eyes were sharp, with a hint of wildness. Compared to the other gentle horses, it stood out exceptionally.

Lei Jun instantly felt a connection with this horse; she could clearly perceive its emotions.

It was a bit restless, disliking being confined in the stable and longing to run.

At the same time, she could tell the horse was in excellent health, muscular and full of stamina—a rare, fine steed.

"I choose this one."

Lei Jun said, pointing at the black Thoroughbred.

Chen Feng froze for a moment and quickly warned her.

"Ms. Lei, this 'Black Wind' has a rather fiery temperament. Very few guests dare to choose it. Are you sure you want this one? Would you like to switch to a gentler one?"

"No need, this is the one."

Lei Jun smiled confidently.

She had God-tier Horsemanship. Never mind a horse with a fiery temperament; she could easily tame even a truly wild horse.

Seeing her firm attitude, Chen Feng could only go help lead the horse out.

'Black Wind' was a notoriously wild horse in the club. Several senior riders had been thrown off by it before. This Ms. Lei looked so delicate, yet she actually dared to choose it?

He was both worried and expectant—worried she might get hurt, yet looking forward to seeing her ride.

Soon, Chen Feng led out 'Black Wind' and the brown horse Lin Xiaoya had chosen, helping them prepare the saddles and reins.

Looking at Black Wind's tall stature, Lin Xiaoya pulled on Lei Jun's arm a bit fearfully.

"Sister Lei, this horse looks so fierce. Do you want to change it? What if it doesn't listen?"

"Don't worry, it's fine."

Lei Jun patted her hand, then walked up to Black Wind and reached out to gently stroke its neck.

Something miraculous happened.

The originally restless 'Black Wind,' upon feeling Lei Jun's touch, actually calmed down slowly. It nudged her palm gently with its head, the wildness in its eyes fading a bit, replaced by a hint of docility.
