312: Answer me
Su Cha's barrage of questions made Atapong's face turn pale and blue, and he couldn't say a word.
Su Cha's wife, Pinya, also couldn't help but loudly retort to Atapong.
"Even brothers should keep clear accounts!"
"Didn't you say so yourself? Besides, you're only Cousins!"
"Those were your own words just a moment ago, spoken with such conviction!"
Hearing Pinya's words, the crowd couldn't help but start discussing the matter.
"Exactly. When Su Cha's father pleaded earlier, Atapong was so arrogant, saying even brothers should keep clear accounts! Why is he trying to claim kinship now?"
"Haha, this is called shooting yourself in the foot! However arrogant he was before is how pathetic he looks now!"
"They must show their cards! We can't let them off the hook just like that!"
"Atapong must be made to kneel and apologize! He humiliated Uncle Wenzhalun so much earlier; we can't let this slide!"
"Hmph, don't chicken out now, Atapong! Weren't you acting all tough just now? Why are you afraid to show your cards now?"
"Hahaha, Atapong can't keep up the act anymore! This feels great!"
"Yeah, it must feel terrible to be abandoned by everyone, right? This is the consequence of your usual wickedness!"
"He who wins the hearts of the people wins the world. Compared to Atapong, Su Cha is much more popular!"
Atapong's face burned with shame from the crowd's comments; he felt his dignity was being ruthlessly trampled into the ground.
He suddenly looked up and shouted at the crowd in a blustering manner, "Then what do you want!"
Su Cha smiled with satisfaction and said to him, "Get back here and show your cards!"
Atapong was furious: "And if I say no!"
He thought Su Cha would be afraid and that the crowd would have reservations, but to his surprise, Su Cha wasn't afraid of him at all.
Su Cha looked at him coldly: "If you won't show your cards, then I'll show them for you!"
With that, Su Cha stood up and moved forward to grab the cards in front of Atapong. He wanted to see exactly what Atapong's cards were that made him so afraid to reveal them.
Atapong panicked and quickly covered his cards, fearing Su Cha would flip them over. "Wait!"
He looked at Su Cha with a hint of pleading in his voice: "Little brother, are you really not going to give your Cousin any face at all?"
Su Cha looked at him coldly: "Did I not give you a chance? Didn't I say that as long as you apologized to my father, we'd drop today's matter! But what did you say!"
As he spoke, Su Cha kicked over a nearby stool. The stool hit the ground with a loud "clatter," silencing the crowd for a moment.
Su Cha roared, "Speak! Answer me!"
Atapong clutched his cards tightly, startled by Su Cha's intensity, his body trembling involuntarily.
He hadn't expected Su Cha to be so firm, leaving him no room at all.
Su Cha continued, "In front of so many relatives, my father humbled himself like that, yet what did you do! Not only did you not apologize, you even insulted him by calling him a loser! And now you want to talk to me about 'face'? Do you even deserve it!"
With that, he took a step forward, grabbed Atapong by the collar, and yelled in a rage, "I didn't want it to be like this! It was you! It was you who pushed me to the brink! Now that you're about to lose, you say you want to call it off! Do you think that's f*cking possible? If it were you, would you have spared me?"
After saying that, he shoved Atapong away.
Atapong lost his balance and was pushed to the ground, falling flat on his back.
Atapong's father, Songphong, panicked instantly. He first glanced at his son and, seeing he had only fallen and wasn't seriously hurt, rushed to plead with Su Cha: "Su Cha, listen to your Second Uncle..."
"Whatever you have to say, wait until the game is over!" Su Cha interrupted him directly. "Show the cards!!!"
Atapong and his wife, Nala, exchanged a look, both seeing despair and panic in each other's eyes.
They were completely panicked and didn't know what to do, so they could only look at Songphong helplessly, hoping he could find a way to save them.
Songphong felt extremely helpless seeing his son and daughter-in-law looking at him.
He wanted to save them too, but now that everyone was forcing them to show their cards, he had no way out.
"What are you looking at me for!" Songphong said irritably. "Show your cards! Let's just bet that he doesn't have Three of a Kind Aces! Maybe his hand is fake and he's just trying to scare us!"
Atapong remained dazed and silent.
Songphong grew anxious and shouted at him, "What are you standing there for? Show your cards already! Stop dallying; if you won't show them, I will!"
With that, Songphong moved forward to reveal the cards in his son's place.
Atapong roared frantically, "Dad, no!!!!"
He wanted to stop Songphong, but it was already too late.
Ignoring him, Songphong pushed Atapong's hand away and slammed the last card in front of Atapong onto the table.
Instantly, everyone's eyes were focused on that card.
Everyone expected it to be a Queen, but to their surprise, the card was a Jack!
When Songphong saw it was a Jack, his eyes widened, and his mouth hung open wide enough to fit an egg as he roared in despair, "Ah!!!! How can this be!! How can it be a Jack!"
Atapong felt terrible. He and Nala had peeked at the card earlier and thought the last card was a Queen, but it turned out to be a Jack!
Nala slumped to the ground, muttering incessantly, "It's over... everything is over..."
Standing in the corner, Lei Jun smiled slightly upon seeing this.
Atapong's card had indeed been changed by her.
While Atapong wasn't paying attention and without anyone noticing, she had directly turned Atapong's Queen into a Jack.
She had long found the Atapong couple unpleasant.
People like them deserved to be punished.
Su Cha was the brother of Su Qing and Su Ya. Since Su Qing and Su Ya worked for her with all their heart, it was only right for her to give them a hand.
Making Atapong lose completely would not only help Su Cha vent his anger but also put Su Qing and Su Ya's minds at ease.
Seeing that Jack, Su Cha was stunned for a moment before realizing what happened, and a look of wild joy appeared on his face.
He understood instantly—it must have been Lei Jun!
Lei Jun must have secretly swapped Atapong's card!
He turned his head and looked at Lei Jun gratefully.
If it hadn't been for Lei Jun, even if he had won today, it might not have gone so smoothly.
He secretly vowed to repay Lei Jun's kindness in the future.
Seeing that Jack, Pinya was so excited that tears flowed down her face. She tightly gripped Su Cha's hand and kept saying, "We won! We won!"
She also knew that this must have been Miss Lei Jun's help; otherwise, how could Atapong's card have suddenly turned into a Jack?
She bowed deeply to Lei Jun to express her gratitude.
Seeing that Jack, Wenchalong relaxed completely, his previous tension and fear vanishing without a trace.
He let out a long sigh of relief, his heart full of gratitude.
He also guessed that it was Lei Jun who had helped and gave her a simple, honest smile.
