394: The greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment.

The USA contestant's smile instantly froze when he saw that Lei Jun completely ignored him, making him extremely angry.

He never imagined that his initiative to show goodwill and get to know Lei Jun would be met with such total disregard!

He was absolutely furious.

He was from the USA, and the Pit Bull he brought was the most powerful dog in the world. Initiating a conversation was giving Lei Jun face; for her to dare ignore him was simply going too far!

Furthermore, that Local Dog Lei Jun brought was clearly trash, yet she treated it like a treasure. She really had no eye for quality!

Once the competition started, he would definitely have his Pit Bull teach that Local Dog a lesson, showing it the meaning of a 'gap' in ability. He would also let this beautiful girl know the consequences of ignoring him, making Lei Jun regret not accepting his request.

He roared loudly at Lei Jun.

"Beautiful girl, you actually dare to ignore me? Do you know who I am? I am Jack from the USA. My Pit Bull will definitely win the championship of this competition. Your Local Dog isn't even worthy of being compared to my Pit Bull. Just you wait and see, your Local Dog is going to lose miserably!"

Lei Jun still didn't pay him any attention. She didn't even look up at him, continuing to stroke A-Fu's head with a calm gaze, as if his roar was nothing more than a passing breeze.

Just then, several contestants dressed in Japanese attire walked over.

Leading them was a thin, small man with an arrogant expression and eyes full of disdain. He first walked up to the USA contestant and bowed respectfully.

"Excellency from the USA, please do not be angry. That Shina girl just has no eye for quality and doesn't know how powerful you are. Don't lower yourself to her level. By the Great amaterasu omikami, your Pit Bull is incredibly powerful; that Shina person's Local Dog isn't even worthy of being compared to your Pit Bull!"

After comforting the USA contestant, he turned his head and fixed his gaze on A-Fu in Lei Jun's arms, his eyes filled with contempt and mockery.

"Baka! You, pretty girl, take your Local Dog and leave quickly! Don't let it stay here and embarrass itself!

This Local Dog of yours is both ugly and rustic. It's simply the trash of all trash, worthless. It's not fit to participate in an international competition like this, nor is it fit to stand at this venue and foul our eyes!"

As he cursed, he pointed to a Shiba Inu beside him.

He bragged boastfully to the crowd.

"Look, this is my Shiba Inu, the most powerful dog of our Yamato Nation. Sugoi! It is well-trained with superior skills. Whether it's tracking, search and rescue, or combat, it is very powerful. Dadi Yoshi!

This Shina person's Local Dog can't compare to my Shiba Inu at all. Even if my Shiba Inu just performs casually, it can easily defeat it and make it lose miserably!

By the Great amaterasu omikami, my Shiba Inu will win the championship, letting you all know that the dogs of our Yamato Nation are the best in the world!!!"

Tony was so angry his orchid fingers were trembling.

"Bakayaro! What nonsense are you talking about, you little midget! Our A-Fu is a true work of art! A perfect combination of nature and spirituality! Your Shiba Inu is nothing more than a rigid template; how can it compare to even a ten-thousandth of A-Fu's charm! Oh My God, I'm so furious!"

Qin Yu's face was ashen, his fists clenched until his knuckles turned white.

He took a half-step forward, staring coldly at the Japanese contestant: "Competition relies on strength, not lip service. Who is strong and who is weak will naturally be decided on the field. Be careful of talking big now, lest you find yourself unable to back it up later."

He would never allow an outsider to so arrogantly belittle Lei Jun and her dog.

Even if they lost, they couldn't lose their momentum!

Lin Xiaoya was even more enraged, her small face flushing red like a bristling kitten: "You're the one who's embarrassing! Your whole family is embarrassing! You have no idea how smart and powerful A-Fu is! Your Shiba Inu looks dull and stupid! Go A-Fu! You'll definitely beat them until they don't know which way is north!"

She had unconditional faith in Sister Lei. Since Jun Jun brought A-Fu, A-Fu would definitely succeed! This Japanese guy was too detestable!

The surrounding Dragon Country audience was also thoroughly incensed by the Japanese contestant's remarks.

"This Japanese guy is too arrogant!"

"Go A-Fu! Win some pride for us!"

"Let him see the power of the Chinese Pastoral Dog!"

"Exactly! What 'pure bloodline'? Our Local Dogs are treasures too!"

"Support Lei Jun! Support A-Fu!"

Cheers and shouts rose one after another. Everyone was ignited by national sentiment, united against the common enemy.

However, some low-voiced discussions of worry and doubt inevitably appeared in the crowd:

"Sigh, patriotism is one thing... but their Shiba Inu is indeed a very famous working dog breed with a mature training system..."

"Yeah, look at that Shiba Inu's gaze and stance; you can tell it's been strictly trained. A-Fu looks well-behaved, but the competition tests comprehensive ability."

"Let's hope it's not a case of 'the greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment'..."

"If it loses, won't that just make us more of a laughingstock to those guys?"

Though these voices weren't loud, they were somewhat jarring amidst the cheers.

People who were fired up immediately retorted:

"What's wrong with you guys? Getting cold feet before the match even starts?"

"Exactly! Boosting others' morale while dampening our own!"

"Regardless of whether A-Fu can do it or not, we have to support our own!"

"Right! Winning or losing isn't what's important; what's important is not losing our spirit! Go A-Fu! We're behind you!"

Meanwhile, the spectators and contestants from other countries mostly held an attitude of watching the drama with contempt.

Hearing the cheers and internal arguments of the Dragon Country audience, mocking smiles appeared on their faces, and their discussions grew louder:

"Look, the Dragon Country people are self-comforting again."

"What's the use of cheering? A dog competition depends on the dog's ability, not how loud the voices are."

"That little yellow dog looks completely uncompetitive. I really don't understand why it came to compete."

"It seems Dragon Country really is no good at canine sports; they can only rely on shouting slogans."

"Once the competition starts, the gap will be clear at a glance, and they won't be able to shout anymore."

Tony, Qin Yu, and Lin Xiaoya were about to explode with rage hearing these taunts from all sides.

Tony wanted nothing more than to rush up and debate those foreigners for three hundred rounds, but he was held back by Qin Yu.

Although Qin Yu was also incredibly angry, he knew that arguing wouldn't solve anything and would only provide more of a laughingstock for outsiders.

Lin Xiaoya's eyes were slightly red, both from anger and anxiety.

The three of them looked at each other, seeing the unwillingness and frustration in each other's eyes.

They couldn't lower themselves to these people's level; they could only slap their faces with facts!

They desperately chanted in their hearts: A-Fu, you must do us proud! It all depends on you!

Just then, spirited music blared from the venue's speakers. The host announced that the competition was about to officially begin and asked all contestants to bring their dogs into the central preparation area.
