359: Someone's going to die!

Lei Jun didn't wait for Wang Jinbiao to quibble and immediately followed up, "Second, when your dog pounced, did you stop it? Did you give a warning? Did you apologize?"

Wang Jinbiao's face turned the color of pig liver. At the time, he had been too busy showing off how "fierce" his dog was; why would he have stopped it?

He roared, "Cut the crap! Right now, my dog has been bitten to death by yours!"

"Third," Lei Jun's voice rose several decibels.

"Your dog is worth tens of thousands? How much is my safety, and the safety of all these elderly people and children here, worth in your eyes?"

"Your dog is a treasure, but other people's lives aren't lives? Your dog rushes out without a leash to bite people and gets what it deserves; yet my dog, who acted in self-defense to protect me, deserves to die?"

"What kind of logic is that!"

Her gaze was like lightning as it swept over Wang Jinbiao and the group of thugs behind him.

"You didn't follow the dog ownership regulations yourself, openly walking your dog without a leash and allowing a vicious dog to threaten public safety. After the incident, instead of reflecting on your own faults, you gathered a bunch of hoodlums to extort and threaten us in public, demanding two hundred thousand yuan and trying to force someone to kneel and kill their dog?"

"Wang Jinbiao, right?"

"Where is your sense of shame?"

"Did you leave it at home, or were you just born without one?"

This series of questions was clear and logical, hitting the nail on the head and completely tearing apart Wang Jinbiao's unreasonable and twisted logic.

The onlookers felt as if a weight had been lifted from their chests, and they cheered inwardly:

"Fantastic! Well said, Lei Jun!"

"Every word is spot on! She's left him speechless!"

"Exactly! Where does he get the nerve to ask for two hundred thousand? Where does he get the nerve to make someone kneel?"

"Walking a dog without a leash is a merit now? His ability to shift the blame is truly impressive!"

"Look at Wang Jinbiao's face, haha, it's turning into a purple eggplant!"

"This young girl is truly remarkable. She's fearless in the face of danger and has such a clear head!"

Wang Jinbiao was left dumbfounded by Lei Jun's rapid-fire questioning. He stood there with his mouth open, stammering "You... you..." for a long time, unable to squeeze out a single complete sentence.

Every word Lei Jun said was the truth. With so many people watching, he had no way to refute her.

The flesh on his face twitched violently, turning from red to white and back again.

"Motherfucker!"

Wang Jinbiao finally exploded. He felt he had never been so humiliated in his life, especially in front of his subordinates and so many neighbors. He completely dropped all pretenses and stopped trying to be "reasonable." After all, he had never been a reasonable person.

He suddenly turned his head and roared at the surrounding neighbors, "What the hell are you looking at! Get the fuck out of here! Mind your own business! Anyone who dares to keep watching, I'll take care of you too!"

Then he whipped his head back around. His small eyes were bloodshot, filled with malice and murderous intent as he glared at Lei Jun. His gaze looked as if he truly wanted to kill someone.

He suddenly waved his hand and hysterically roared at the thugs behind him, "What the fuck are you all standing around for! Get her! Teach this death-seeking little bitch a lesson! Smash her mouth! Break her legs! I'll take responsibility for whatever happens!"

The thugs had long since grown impatient. Hearing their boss's command, especially the part about him taking responsibility, they were instantly pumped up. Howling and waving clubs and bricks, they swarmed toward Lei Jun!

They didn't care who was right or wrong. If Brother Biao said to hit, they hit!

If they did, there would be wine, meat, and cigarettes. Maybe they could even squeeze some extra money out of this young girl!

The crowd of onlookers instantly erupted into chaos as panic spread:

"Ah! They're actually doing it!"

"Heavens! Someone's going to die!"

"Run further away! Don't get caught in the crossfire!"

"Lei Jun, run!"

Many of the more timid people, especially the elderly and women with children, turned pale with fright. They instinctively closed their eyes, not daring to watch the impending violence.

Their hearts were filled with fear and worry for Lei Jun: "It's over, it's over. This young girl is in trouble!"

"Call the police! Quick, call the police!"

"In broad daylight! Is there no law anymore!"

There were also some who were slightly braver. Although their legs were weak with fear, they still watched with wide, terrified eyes, their hearts in their throats. They clutched their phones tightly, trembling as they tried to dial the police, yet fearing the thugs would notice.

In the crowd, a hot-blooded young man in his early twenties wearing a tracksuit saw this scene. His face turned red with anger, and his fists clenched until they cracked.

His name was Li Rui, a helpful young man who had only recently started working.

He couldn't stand it any longer and took a step forward, wanting to rush in. "This is too much! So many people attacking one girl! I'll fight them!"

His companion, a more stable-looking peer wearing glasses, quickly held him back and said urgently:

"Li Rui! Are you crazy? Don't be impulsive! Look how many of them there are! And they're armed! What's the use of you going in alone? Getting beaten up for nothing would be the least of it!"

"What if they hold a grudge and come looking for trouble later? Think about your job! Think about your parents! Don't let your blood go to your head!"

Li Rui struggled, his eyes turning red. "Then we just stand here and watch them beat someone?"

The companion with glasses held him firmly and lowered his voice, "Someone has already called the police! If you go in now, you won't change anything except getting yourself involved! Calm down! Don't bring trouble to your family!"

Li Rui looked at those ferocious thugs and then at his arm held tightly by his companion. A deep sense of helplessness and humiliation surged in his heart.

He knew his companion was right. He couldn't change anything alone, and the consequences of being impulsive could be severe.

He finally stopped struggling dejectedly. His fists clenched and unclenched as he bit his lip hard, staring unblinkingly at the solitary Lei Jun in the center. He prayed silently: "Police, please come quickly... Lei Jun, you must hold on... or, just run!"

The others felt the same way—afraid, anxious, and angry—but mostly deeply worried about Lei Jun's situation.

They looked at Lei Jun and saw her surrounded by seven or eight sturdy men wielding weapons; she seemed to have no way out.

However, Lei Jun, at the center of the storm, reacted in a way that completely exceeded everyone's expectations.

Faced with the thugs charging at her with clubs and shouting, not only was there no trace of panic or fear on Lei Jun's face, but she was also incredibly calm.

She quickly glanced at Wang Jinbiao and his hideous-looking subordinates, thinking something else entirely... These guys were pure social scum, acting tough because of their numbers, but in reality, they were completely vulnerable.

With her body now strengthened by the System, taking down these few people might take some effort and be a bit messy, but it shouldn't be a problem.

She could take action herself, of course.

But...
