425: Chapter 425 Departure

Lei Jun grew interested: "Tell me about it."

Greg cleared his throat and began a detailed introduction, each sentence deepening Lei Jun's impression of the island:

"This island is located in the South Pacific, near Fiji, and is named 'Emerald Bay Island'. Its location is excellent, less than an hour's flight from Fiji's capital, Nadi International Airport. It has convenient transportation yet is remote enough to offer high privacy. Fiji is a tourist destination in the South Pacific with a pleasant climate, social stability, and is friendly to foreign investment."

"The total area of the island is about 15 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of 2,100 standard football fields. This size is considered large for a private island, enough for various developments and construction without being so large that it's difficult to manage. There are three small hills on the island, with the highest point at an altitude of about 260 meters, offering a panoramic view of the entire island and the surrounding sea. Standing at the peak, you have a 360-degree unobstructed sea view, with sunrises and sunsets in full sight; on clear days, you can even see other islands in the distance."

"The island is surrounded by white sandy beaches with a total length of over 18 kilometers. Among them is a 3-kilometer stretch of private beach with sand as fine as powder, known as 'flour sand.' It is of world-class quality, comparable to the Maldives. The seawater is crystal clear with visibility exceeding 40 meters, suitable for swimming, snorkeling, diving, and various water activities. Behind the beach is a dense coconut grove, forming a natural sunshade barrier."

"The island's vegetation is very dense, with over 70% of the area covered by primary tropical rainforest. The rainforest contains various tropical plants, including coconut trees, palm trees, mango trees, papaya trees, banana trees, and jackfruit trees, as well as many rare birds and wildlife. On the west side of the island, there is a naturally formed freshwater lake covering about 0.8 square kilometers. The lake water is crystal clear and can be drunk directly; the water quality is excellent. There are also wild fish in the lake for fishing. Beside the lake is an open grassland, suitable for building villas or leisure areas."

"Regarding the climate, it is a tropical maritime climate with year-round temperatures between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius, which is very comfortable without extreme cold or heat. The island is located outside the hurricane belt, so extreme weather is rare. According to historical meteorological records, only three minor tropical storms have passed through in the last 50 years, causing no major damage. There are distinct rainy and dry seasons; the rainy season is from December to April, but even then, it consists mostly of showers and does not rain continuously."

"The island already has some infrastructure, including a simple airstrip for small private planes, six holiday villas, a yacht marina, a freshwater treatment plant, and a hybrid solar and wind power generation system. The airport runway is about 900 meters long, suitable for most small business jets. If extended to 1,200 meters, it could accommodate long-range business jets like the Gulfstream G700."

"The marina has sufficient water depth to dock yachts under 50 meters, and there is a boathouse next to the pier for storing several small speedboats and diving equipment. The power system can meet the lighting and domestic electricity needs of the entire island, and there are backup generators. The freshwater treatment plant can process lake water and rainwater to ensure an ample supply of fresh water."

"Those six holiday villas are built on the hillside, overlooking the entire beach and sea area, each with its own independent pool and garden. The main building is the largest, with five bedrooms, while the other five have two to three bedrooms each, accommodating over thirty people in total. The villas were built ten years ago in a modern style with luxurious decorations and have been well-maintained, so they are move-in ready without needing major repairs."

"Most importantly, the sovereignty of this island is very clear; it belongs to Tuvalu, an island nation that allows foreigners to purchase land. This country is very friendly to foreign investment and has a special 'Investor Visa' where residency can be obtained by purchasing a certain amount of assets. If the investment is large enough, one can even apply for citizenship. The tax policy is also very favorable, with no personal income tax, no capital gains tax, and no inheritance tax."

"The property rights of the island are permanent, with no limit on the term of use, and can be passed down to future generations. The title deed is clear, without any mortgages or disputes. The previous owner was a European financial family who had owned the island for over fifty years and has now decided to sell because the family's descendants are unwilling to inherit it."

Greg paused and announced the price: "The current asking price is 320 million USD. Considering the size, location, facilities, and potential of the island, this price is very reasonable. I consulted my friend, and he said there is room for negotiation; it's expected to close at around 280 to 300 million USD. Additionally, if Miss Lei Jun needs it, he can also help arrange a loan—though, of course, I know you don't need one."

After listening, Lei Jun had already made her decision.

320 million USD was just a number to her. And the various conditions of this island sounded even more perfect than the previous one—larger area, better facilities, more beautiful scenery, a more pleasant climate, and clearer sovereignty. 15 square kilometers, 18 kilometers of beach, a freshwater lake, tropical rainforest, three hills, six villas, a small airport, a yacht marina, a power system, a freshwater treatment plant... it was practically a ready-made resort. Buying it would allow for immediate move-in.

Isn't this exactly the 'Yaoguang Island' she wanted?

"Greg, thank you for the recommendation. I am very interested in this island. Can you arrange for me to go see it as soon as possible?" Lei Jun asked.

Greg immediately agreed: "Of course! I'll contact my friend right away to have him arrange the reception. When will Miss Lei Jun be setting off?"

"Tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll arrange it immediately. I wish you a pleasant journey and hope you can successfully acquire this beautiful island. If you need anything, feel free to contact me anytime."

Hanging up the phone, Lei Jun looked at everyone: "We leave tomorrow to see the island. Lei Ying, arrange the plane. Lei Yue, prepare the relevant legal documents. Su Qing and Su Ya, prepare the luggage and supplies. Any problems?"

"No problem!" everyone responded in unison.

...

The next morning, Lei Jun's private jet took off from Longcheng International Airport.

On board, besides Lei Jun, were Lei Ying, Lei Yue, Su Qing, and Su Ya.

Tony originally wanted to go along, but he couldn't get away from his styling work, so he could only express his regret: "Muse, you must take lots of photos for me to see; I want to use them for my creations."

Qin Yu and Lin Xiaoya also wanted to follow, but they missed out due to other matters.

The plane climbed to cruising altitude and flew steadily toward the southeast. Through the porthole, one could see the sea of clouds churning and the sun shining brightly; occasionally, mountain peaks pierced through the cloud layer, revealing pristine white snow.

Lei Jun leaned back in the large leather seat with Afu lying at her feet. Pet Name wasn't brought along this time and was left at home to be cared for by specialized staff. She closed her eyes, but her mind was thinking about the island she was about to see.

15 square kilometers, 18 kilometers of beach, a freshwater lake, tropical rainforest, three hills, six villas, a small airport, a yacht marina, a power system, a freshwater treatment plant...
