261: Three thousand yuan? You call that money?

His father, Wenchalong, who was sitting next to him, had been watching his son's expression.

No one knows a son better than his father; he immediately guessed what his son wanted to say.

It was definitely about that three thousand that he had lent to Atapong and had never been paid back.

Wenchalong's heart tightened, and he hurriedly pulled hard on his son's sleeve under the table, while simultaneously shooting him a stern look of warning, shaking his head slightly and silently mouthing the words.

"Don't say it! Not today!"

Seeing his father's look, Su Cha's words were stifled back. He understood his father's character—fearful of trouble and obsessed with saving face, especially on an occasion like this; he didn't want to offend his now-successful nephew.

Su Cha's chest heaved twice as he let out a helpless sigh.

Today was his own wedding; it would look too bad if a scene broke out.

He comforted himself this way, but the feeling of grievance only grew heavier.

Over at Atapong's side, he was being surrounded by several relatives who had come over to toast him. A Distant Uncle, face beaming with smiles, patted Atapong on the shoulder.

"Atapong, you are now the pride of our family! Doing big business in Bangkok, if you have the chance in the future, help your Younger Male Cousin out! He's graduated from high school and is worried about not having a good path forward!"

Another Aunt also hurriedly chimed in, "Yes, yes, Atapong, my son is also about to finish school. He's bright, he just needs a benefactor to lead him. Even a little bit leaking from between your fingers would be enough for him to learn from!"

"Atapong, business must have been exceptionally good last year, right? Looking at this car and this style, you must have made a lot of money!" another relative asked directly, eyes full of curiosity and envy.

Being praised by everyone, Atapong felt extremely comfortable.

He deliberately paused for a moment, swirling his wine glass, putting on an air of nonchalance.

"Ah, actually it's alright, it's a bit hard work. Last year... it was so-so, I only made a few million."

He specifically added the currency unit.

"dragon country currency."

"A few million? dragon country currency?" The relative who had just asked cried out in shock, eyes wide and round.

"My god! A few million dragon country currency? How many Thai Baht would that be?" Another relative quickly did the mental math and then sucked in a breath of cold air.

"Incredible! Truly incredible! Atapong, you're too amazing!" The Distant Uncle patted even harder, the smile on his face bordering on sycophantic.

"A few million... we couldn't earn that much in a lifetime!" The surrounding guests who heard also cast shocked and incredibly envious glances.

For a while, "millions of dragon country currency" became the hot topic at the nearby tables. Atapong was surrounded by various exclamations and compliments, as if he had become an immortal who could turn stone into gold.

Listening to those exaggerated exclamations and seeing his Older Male Cousin Atapong's irrepressible smug smile, then thinking about how he had saved money for his wedding and his suppressed feelings over the three thousand debt, Su Cha could no longer hold back the frustration in his chest.

His father wouldn't let him speak?

To hell with not letting him speak!

He's earned millions and still won't pay back three thousand?

Su Cha said excitedly.

"Older Male Cousin, you... you earned so much money last year, so... is it time you paid me back that three thousand you owe me?"

As soon as these words came out, the courtyard fell silent.

The smiles on the faces of those relatives who were just complimenting him froze, and the wine glasses they had raised halfway stopped in mid-air.

The conversations of the people at the nearby tables who heard Su Cha's words also came to an abrupt halt.

Everyone turned their heads in surprise, looking at Su Cha and then at Atapong.

Three thousand?

Atapong owes Su Cha three thousand?

Unpaid? How is that possible? Didn't he just say he earned millions?

To him, isn't a few thousand just the price of a meal?

Why would he keep it and not pay it back?

All sorts of looks—doubt, surprise, and even a hint of wanting to watch a drama—focused squarely on Atapong's face.

Hearing Su Cha's words, Lei Jun felt even more disdain for Atapong.

He earned so much money but won't pay back three thousand he borrowed from someone else??

This reminded her of her past life, where she had lent money to friends who wouldn't pay it back even when they had money.

She hated this kind of person the most!

Seeing that Lei Jun's disdain for him grew because of Su Cha's words, Atapong was extremely furious!

Bullshit!

This Su Cha!

How dare he mention those mere three thousand at a time like this, in front of so many people, and especially in front of that silver-haired beauty?

Wasn't this a deliberate slap in the face, making him lose all face in front of the beauty?

He felt his face burning, as if he had been slapped in public.

The gazes of the relatives and friends around him, which were full of envy and admiration just a moment ago, now all seemed to turn into suspicion, scrutiny, and even faint ridicule.

He could imagine what they were thinking.

Oh, so the big boss who drives an audi would even dodge a three thousand debt to a relative? Making millions must be a boast, right?

He suppressed the urge to flip the table immediately, his expression so gloomy it looked like it could drip water.

After the brief silence around them, low whispers broke out.

"Is it for real? Atapong owes Su Cha money?"

"Three thousand... that's nothing to Atapong, right? Why would..."

"Tsk tsk, this is getting interesting..."

"Su Cha is really something, bringing this up now..."

Listening to these discussions and seeing Lei Jun's increasingly cold and disdainful eyes, Atapong felt like his lungs were about to burst with rage.

He suddenly turned his head and stared fixedly at Su Cha.

"Su Cha!"

"It's not that your Older Male Cousin is lecturing you, but you... your vision is too shallow, your horizon is too small! Three thousand? You call that money?"

He sneered.

"How do you have the nerve to bring it up on an occasion like this? Isn't it embarrassing?"

Hearing Atapong's extremely shameless remarks, Lei Jun's anger flared up instantly.

Truly something one sees once in a lifetime!

Not paying back a debt and then blaming the creditor for being embarrassed to mention the money?

This is simply bandit logic, the height of shamelessness!

Isn't this the typical face of "a grandson when borrowing money, a lord when paying it back"?

Is three thousand not money?

That was money Su Cha earned through hard work. Why should it be owed by you without being paid back, only to be mocked in return?

She hated this kind of person most.

Su Cha was obviously also infuriated by Atapong's words; his face turned flush red, and his breathing became rapid.

"Older Male Cousin, why should I be embarrassed to mention it? You've borrowed this money for over a year! If I didn't mention it, were you planning to forget it forever? Three thousand might not be money to you, but it's not a small amount to me!"

Seeing that Su Cha dared to talk back, Atapong became even more furious.

He picked up a mouthful of food with his chopsticks and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing fiercely as if he were chewing Su Cha's flesh.

He said disdainfully.

"That's why you're unsuccessful, your mind is just fixed on this three thousand! Can't you have a longer-term vision? If you had some courage a few years ago and followed your Older Male Cousin out to make a living and learn some skills, now let alone three thousand, what would thirty thousand or three hundred thousand matter?"

"As for being like you are now, driving a broken alto, being stingy even for a wedding, and tearing your face apart with your own Older Male Cousin over three thousand?"

He brought the topic back to the car again, launching a personal attack.
