375: Hold a meeting

Greg continued to praise her: "Ms. Lei is only 18 this year, yet she is already a shareholder in four trillion-dollar companies: Walmart, Alibaba, Xiaomi, and BYD. She is a true linguistic genius!

Her English proficiency is equivalent to that of a PhD in English, mastering various accents and professional terminology. In the future, she will lead Walmart to new heights. Everyone must cooperate fully with Ms. Lei's work!"

As soon as Greg finished speaking, gasps of astonishment rose and fell throughout the office area. The staff began discussing among themselves, their voices filled with shock and admiration.

"Oh my god! She's only 18? That's unbelievable!"

"A Dragon Country woman is our largest shareholder? And her English is better than mine, a native-born USA citizen? This is truly beyond my imagination!"

"A shareholder in four trillion-dollar companies! That's practically a business empire. Is she simply gifted, or does she come from an illustrious background?"

"I thought the new controlling shareholder would be an old-school USA magnate. I never expected her to be so young, and a Dragon Country person at that. Walmart is definitely going to change dramatically."

"Forget being a linguistic genius; she's also so good at business. To have achieved so much at 18, she's truly a winner in life!"

"I hope she can bring new development opportunities. Maybe our salaries and benefits will increase again."

"With the current tension between Dragon Country and the USA, if she's the controlling shareholder, will the government cause trouble for us? I'm a little worried."

Amidst these discussions were astonishment, curiosity, anticipation, and worry, showcasing the complex emotions of the staff.

Lei Jun looked calm and nodded slightly toward the crowd.

Lei Jun said to Greg, "Have all the executive teams gather in the conference room. I need to hold a meeting."

Greg's heart tightened, and he quickly replied, "Understood, Ms. Lei. I will notify them immediately."

He mused that since Lei Jun called a meeting of executives right after the tour, she definitely had important arrangements, perhaps to adjust the company strategy or rectify internal management.

Daring not to delay, he immediately notified the executives of various departments, urging them to gather quickly in the large conference room on the sixth floor.

The executives who received the notification felt uneasy as they rushed to the conference room.

Mark, Walmart's CFO, wondered if Ms. Lei had suddenly called a meeting because she discovered issues within the finance department.

I need to quickly organize the recent financial statements, lest I be asked a question later that I cannot answer.

He had previously made slight adjustments to certain data to boost performance. He had always been worried about being discovered, and now with the new controlling shareholder taking office, he was extremely unsettled.

David, the COO, was also nervous. Was there a problem with supply chain management? Or was Ms. Lei dissatisfied with the company's operational efficiency?

He was in charge of the supply chain and store operations. Recently, several overseas stores had inventory backlog issues that he hadn't had time to resolve, and he was afraid Lei Jun would hold him accountable.

Some other executives were filled with panic. They had previously installed their own people within the company, engaged in minor schemes, and embezzled some company interests. They worried that Lei Jun, the new controlling shareholder, would settle old scores and replace them upon taking office.

Other executives were relatively calm, believing their abilities were outstanding and their contributions to the company significant. They felt that even if Lei Jun were to reorganize, she wouldn't touch them. Instead, they hoped to gain Lei Jun's appreciation and acquire more power... A few minutes later, all the executives had arrived at the conference room.

The atmosphere in the conference room was extremely oppressive. Everyone sat in their seats, heads bowed, no one daring to speak, their very breathing softened.

Everyone's gaze involuntarily turned toward the conference room door, waiting for Lei Jun's arrival. They felt both nervous and curious, unsure whether the purpose of this meeting was to assign blame or adjust strategy.

Lei Jun walked into the conference room, accompanied by Greg.

She walked straight to the main seat and sat down... After Lei Jun sat, she remained silent, her gaze calmly sweeping over every executive present. Her eyes showed no excess emotion, yet carried an inherent, powerful sense of pressure, as if she could see through everyone's thoughts.

The conference room became even quieter; you could hear a pin drop. The executives were flustered under Lei Jun's scrutiny, bowing their heads and avoiding eye contact. Their nervousness intensified, and some even started sweating in their palms.

Greg sat beside Lei Jun, also afraid to speak, just accompanying her silently. He wondered when Lei Jun would start talking and what she intended to announce, worried that he might do something wrong and incur her displeasure.

After a few minutes, Lei Jun finally spoke slowly.

"First, thank you for coming. I called this meeting today not to assign blame or settle accounts, but to clarify Walmart's future direction and finalize our core strategy."

Hearing this, the executives secretly breathed a sigh of relief, their anxious hearts easing slightly.

At the same time, they were stunned by Lei Jun's aura. Though only 18, she possessed a composure and authority far exceeding her peers, speaking and acting decisively, completely unlike a young person.

What surprised them even more was that Lei Jun's English was so fluent—more standard than many native speakers. When they had heard Greg mention it before, they were skeptical, but now hearing it firsthand, they knew Greg hadn't exaggerated.

Lei Jun continued, her tone growing firmer: "I hold shares in Alibaba, Xiaomi, BYD, and Walmart. These four companies cover multiple sectors, including retail, e-commerce, technology, and new energy, and each has its core strengths."

"In the future, we must thoroughly integrate the resources of these four companies to create synergy, making 1+1+1+1 greater than 4."

Her gaze swept over the executives, carrying an unquestionable authority.

"After the Supplier Summit the day after tomorrow concludes, I will interface with your teams one by one to finalize the supply chain optimization plan."

"The first step is to fully introduce BYD's new energy vehicles and Xiaomi's hardware products into Walmart's global channels, utilizing Walmart's store advantages to open up the European and American markets."

"At the same time, by leveraging Alibaba's e-commerce platform, we will achieve online and offline integration, break regional restrictions, and further expand our global market share."

Lei Jun's words made the eyes of the executives present light up.

They mused that this was indeed an excellent plan. Walmart had the channel advantage of over 10,000 stores globally, BYD and Xiaomi had high-quality products, and Alibaba had mature e-commerce technology and online traffic... Collaboration among the four companies would not only enrich Walmart's product categories and boost sales but also leverage Alibaba's technology to optimize online operations and reduce costs. This would be entirely beneficial for Walmart's long-term development.

Moreover, since Lei Jun is a shareholder in all four companies, having her coordinate means there will be no conflicts of interest during cooperation, and communication costs will be greatly reduced—much more reliable than partnering with other external enterprises.
