321: Judging from your tone, you are very unwilling.

Lei Ying stood beside Lei Jun, her eyes warily scanning the surrounding people to ensure Lei Jun's safety.

She had no interest in the conflict before her; her mission was to protect Lei Jun, and as long as no one threatened Lei Jun's safety, all was well.

Standing to the side, Wenchalong felt greatly vindicated seeing Atapong strike Nala.

He had been bullied by Atapong's family so many times in the past, and seeing them turn on each other today finally eased some of the grievances in his heart.

Pinya watched Nala being hit without a shred of sympathy.

She felt Nala deserved it; if she hadn't been acting like such a scoundrel, Atapong wouldn't have hit her.

The surrounding crowd also began to whisper and discuss.

"My god, Atapong actually hit his own wife!"

"Serves her right! That woman Nala has it coming! She's been acting like a rogue this whole time; she deserves to be taught a lesson!"

"This is what happens when you act like a scoundrel!"

"Atapong must have been driven to desperation, otherwise he wouldn't have laid a hand on his wife."

"Regardless, hitting someone is wrong, but Nala really did go too far."

"Well, this is good; they've started infighting first. Let's see how they try to be unreasonable now!"

After the blow, Atapong also stood there dazed.

He looked at his hand, feeling a flicker of regret.

But he quickly suppressed that regret, feeling that Nala deserved it; if not for her, he wouldn't have fallen to this state.

"How dare you hit me!" Nala finally scrambled up from the ground, clutching her burning cheek and screaming shrilly, "Atapong, you actually dared to hit me! I'm not finished with you!"

Nala felt pain, anger, and grievance in her heart.

The pain was the burning sensation on her face, as if it were on fire; the anger was that Atapong dared to hit her in public without showing any face; and the grievance was that she clearly hadn't done anything wrong—she just didn't want to give money to Su Cha and the others for nothing, yet she ended up being attacked by everyone and even beaten by her own man.

Her mind was now consumed by fury, and she couldn't think of anything else but wanting to fight Atapong to the death.

"What if I hit you?" Atapong was completely provoked by Nala's screeching and roared back at her, "I'm telling you, Nala, wake up! Stop being so unreasonable here!"

He took a step forward, pointed at the people around them, and lowered his voice to say to Nala, "Do you still not see the situation? They aren't afraid of you getting angry at all!

Because we are the ones in the wrong; we were the ones who forced Su Cha to gamble, and we were the ones who set such a large stake.

If things really fall apart and the police are called, do you think we'll come out on top? Will we even be able to stay in this village in the future?"

"Even if we don't stay in the village anymore, what about my dad?"

"My dad still has to live his life in this village. Do you want people to point fingers at him for the rest of his life? Do you want him to never be able to hold his head up when he goes out?"

Nala was stunned.

It was true; they were indeed in the wrong. If the police really came, they wouldn't help them; instead, they would confiscate the gambling funds and might even arrest them.

By then, the money would be gone, they might be in jail, and the most miserable one would be her father-in-law, Songphong, who would never be able to hold his head up in the village again.

But she was still unwilling to just give in and apologize to Su Cha.

Songphong also rushed over, grabbing Nala's arm with a face full of pleading.

"Nala, Dad is begging you!

Stop making a scene!

Isn't it just a matter of opening your mouth to apologize?

It's not like it'll cost you a limb.

As long as you apologize to Su Cha and settle this matter, we can still keep our house and the factory. That's more important than anything!"

Songphong was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan; his only thought now was to quickly settle this matter.

As long as Nala could apologize and Su Cha could calm down, he'd even apologize himself if he had to.

He was truly afraid—afraid that if this continued, the police would really be summoned, and their family would be completely ruined.

Apologize to Su Cha? Nala was ten thousand times unwilling.

Who did Su Cha think he was? Just a pathetic loser who wasn't even fit to carry her shoes before, and now she was expected to apologize to him? If word got out, how could she ever show her face again?

But seeing Atapong's angry yet helpless gaze and Songphong's pleading expression, she hesitated.

She knew that what Atapong and Songphong said was right; if it really came to calling the police, their family would be finished.

"Just do it for our money!" Seeing Nala's indecision, Atapong quickly pleaded again, "Nala, I'm begging you, just apologize. Just endure it and it'll be over. Once this settles down, we can go back to our lives as usual."

Nala struggled internally for a long time before finally compromising.

She thought, isn't it just an apology? What's the big deal? It's just a sentence. As long as she could keep the house, the factory, and her money, then she would apologize.

Anyway, an apology wouldn't cost her anything. When there was a chance in the future, she would just take her revenge on Su Cha.

She took a deep breath, suppressed the humiliation and anger in her heart, turned to Su Cha, and said perfunctorily, "I'm sorry."

Lei Jun looked at Nala's perfunctory manner and gave a cold smile.

Nala was indeed unwilling, apologizing with such reluctance.

Su Cha definitely wouldn't accept such a perfunctory apology; there was more trouble to come.

Sure enough, just as she expected, Su Cha's face instantly darkened.

"What? Judging by your tone, you're very reluctant?"

Su Cha was extremely dissatisfied.

What he wanted wasn't this perfunctory apology; he wanted Nala to sincerely realize her mistake and to get justice for his father.

Nala's attitude clearly showed she didn't take the apology seriously and was still acting like a rogue.

"Who's reluctant!" Provoked by Su Cha's words, the fire in Nala's heart flared up again, and she roared at him, "Don't push your luck! I've already apologized, what more do you want?"

Nala felt aggrieved to the extreme. She had already lowered herself to apologize, yet Su Cha was still being relentless; this was simply bullying her too much!

"Nala!" Songphong was so frightened that he immediately scolded her, fearing she would make things worse again, "If we're wrong, we must admit it! Have a better attitude! Don't talk back!"

Songphong was worried sick; he was truly afraid that if Nala kept this up, Su Cha would become completely enraged. If the police were called, their family would be done for. He only hoped Nala would behave, apologize properly to Su Cha, and settle this matter.

Being scolded by Songphong only made Nala more furious. She felt she had suffered a monumental grievance, being made difficult by Su Cha and scolded by her father-in-law.

But she didn't dare to talk back to Songphong, so she could only bottle up her anger, shaking all over with rage.

Fine, you're all bullying me!

Once this is over, I'll settle the score with all of you!
