310: They must pay the price today.
"So what if I pushed you?" Su Mei glared at Nala without a hint of fear. "Since when do you get to decide what's allowed? Do you even know the rules? In golden flower, it's perfectly normal for others to help with the follow-up bets, as long as both parties agree! Now, we're willing to lend, and Su Cha is willing to take it. What does that have to do with you?"
Su Mei knew perfectly well that Nala was only acting like a rogue because she was afraid Su Cha would scrape together enough money to call the hand.
She wasn't about to let Nala's scheme succeed. Today, she would make sure Su Cha got enough money to call Atapong's hand and make them lose completely.
Nala was left speechless by Su Mei's questioning, but she still refused to give up. She strained her voice and roared, "My rules are the rules! If I say you can't bet, then you can't bet! I'm the one in charge here!"
"You're being completely unreasonable!" Su Cha's wife, Pinya, couldn't hold back any longer. She stepped forward and said angrily, "You're just being difficult! When the gambling started, why didn't you say people couldn't help with the bets? Now that you see more and more people supporting Su Cha, you start acting like a rogue. Is this fun for you?"
Pinya was fuming. She never expected Nala to be so irrational, even going as far as to say 'my rules are the rules' just to win. It was a complete shock to her system.
"Exactly! You're just being rogues!"
"Why didn't you say anything at the beginning? Now that you're panicking, you speak up? Too late!"
"We're willing to lend money to Su Cha, it's none of your business!"
The crowd joined in, criticizing Nala. Their impression of Nala and Atapong grew even worse.
Atapong was already fuming from the crowd's rebukes. Seeing Nala silenced by Su Mei and Pinya and then condemned by everyone else made him completely lose his cool.
He jumped up and down, pointing at Su Mei and roaring, "Su Mei, shut your damn mouth! Stop talking nonsense!"
"I'm telling you all, my wife is right!"
"We never said from the start that group betting was allowed! This is a game between me and Su Cha. You outsiders are not allowed to interfere!"
"You're the ones who are damn well cheating!!!"
Atapong shrieked at Su Cha and the crowd, the veins on his face bulging.
"You think you can beat me just by getting all these people to pool their money? No way! I'm telling you, even if you get enough money, I won't recognize it! This game doesn't count!"
Su Cha's anger flared instantly. His chest heaved violently, and his eyes burned with fury as he stared at Atapong.
How could such a shameless person exist in this world? He was the one who forced the gamble in the first place, and now that he saw he might lose, he was directly going back on his word. He was playing the victim while being the villain—he had no shame at all!
"Playing the victim after being the villain... do you have no shame at all?"
Su Cha gritted his teeth, shouting every word with emphasis.
Nala flinched at Su Cha's shout, but she remained stubborn, craning her neck to retort, "You talk about shame? If you had any shame, why would you beg these poor relatives of yours for help!"
In her eyes, Su Cha pooling money from the crowd was a sign of incompetence, while her own rogue behavior was somehow justified.
She was panicking inside, but the more panicked she felt, the more she used screaming to hide it.
As long as she could make the pooled money invalid and stop the cards from being shown, she would say anything.
Atapong also shrieked excitedly. He felt Nala had hit the nail on the head; Su Cha was indeed incompetent.
"That's right! If you're so capable, tell them not to bet! I wouldn't say a damn word then!"
He was calculating in his head, thinking Su Cha wouldn't dare tell the crowd to stop. As long as he stuck to the point that 'group betting doesn't count,' Su Cha wouldn't be able to call the hand.
If they dragged it out, maybe the crowd would lose patience first, and Su Cha would naturally lose.
Su Cha took a deep breath, and the fire in his chest actually subsided a little.
He knew there was no point in reasoning with these rogues; he could only fight back using their own logic.
He patted his chest and spoke to the crowd with a determined gaze. "Relatives, please stop betting!"
As soon as he said this, everyone was stunned. Even Atapong and Nala hadn't expected Su Cha to say that.
Su Cha continued seriously, "Just consider it a loan to me, Su Cha! When I win, I'll pay back every single cent! Is that okay?"
He knew Atapong wanted to make an issue out of 'group betting.'
Now that he had changed 'betting' to 'borrowing money,' he had cut off their excuse. He wanted to see what other tricks they could pull.
Moreover, he believed that the crowd supported him. Even if it was a loan, everyone would be willing to help.
Sure enough, as soon as Su Cha finished speaking, the crowd shouted in unison.
"Okay!"
"We'll lend you the money to gamble. We have to win back our dignity!"
"We're willing to lend you the money!"
"Atapong and his woman are too much. Today, they must pay the price!"
"We all support you! Su Cha, don't worry, we have plenty of money!"
The voices of the crowd rose one after another, all in support of Su Cha.
They were all holding back a grudge. Atapong usually acted like a tyrant in the village, bullying one person after another. Today was finally a chance to teach him a lesson. Even if it was a loan, they were willing to help Su Cha.
Su Cha turned his head and looked coldly at Atapong. "Is it okay now? Any more problems?"
Atapong and Nala were instantly silenced. The two of them stood there, their faces flushing red and then turning pale, looking extremely miserable.
Atapong hadn't expected Su Cha to actually dare to change it to a loan. Now his excuse was completely useless.
He wanted to argue, but he found himself at a loss for words.
Was he supposed to question Su Cha borrowing money? Saying that would be even more unreasonable and would only make the crowd look down on him further.
Nala was also in a panic. What should they do now? They couldn't stop the crowd from lending money, and they couldn't stop Su Cha from getting enough. Did they really have to show the cards? But her and Atapong's cards... She didn't dare think further and could only stomp her feet in frustration.
The two of them looked at each other, seeing panic and helplessness in each other's eyes.
They never expected Su Cha to be so decisive, directly cutting off their last path of retreat.
Su Cha didn't give them a chance to react. He reached out and patted the money and bank cards on the table, announcing loudly, "The money is enough! Three million!"
"I'm calling your hand. It's life or death in one go! Show your cards!"
Su Cha's voice carried an unquestionable resolve. He just wanted to show the cards quickly, end this farce, and make Atapong lose completely.
"Show the cards! Show the cards!" The crowd also began to shout loudly, their voices making the courtyard hum.
Every face was filled with anticipation, waiting to see Atapong's miserable defeat.
Nala panicked instantly. Like a madwoman, she rushed over to stop Su Cha, reaching out to firmly block his arm while screaming, "No! You can't show the cards! No one is showing their cards!"
