268: You dare mention 'elders'?
Su Qing and Su Ya had complete faith in Lei Jun's judgment; hearing this, their faces turned pale with fright!
They were just about to stop their sister-in-law from taking out the three golds, but to their surprise, she was very obedient to their brother and placed the three golds directly on the gambling table. They couldn't stop her in time.
They were instantly plunged into despair!
Meanwhile, Su Cha was still immersed in the excitement of his upcoming "comeback" and "revenge." He pointed at the three golds, which his wife had quickly brought out in a red velvet box, and said to Atapong, "With these added, is it enough?!"
The courtyard erupted in an uproar once again!
"Su Cha, you're crazy! Those are the wedding three golds!"
"Quick, stop him!"
"The stakes are too high!"
Su Cha's wife placed the box on the table. Despite the others' attempts to dissuade her, though she was nervous, she whispered, "I believe in Su Cha."
Seeing this, others stepped forward to try and talk sense into them.
"That's enough, Su Cha! Stop playing!"
"Exactly, it's just for fun, don't let it ruin the harmony!"
"Take the three golds back!"
Lei Jun looked at the nearly out-of-control scene and thought she had to do something; she couldn't just stand by and watch Su Cha fall into a fire pit.
However, before she could think of an effective way to intervene, Atapong was already completely enraged by Su Cha's lack of appreciation and the meddling of the people around them.
"Shut the f*ck up, all of you!!!" Atapong slammed the table hard, his roar drowning out all the persuasion.
His face was contorted with rage, frightening everyone into immediate silence.
He glared fiercely at Su Cha.
"Younger Cousin Brother, you're really determined today to not give me, your Older Male Cousin, any face in front of all these relatives, aren't you?"
Su Cha was also throwing caution to the wind now. Meeting his gaze without fear, he said coldly.
"Didn't you say it yourself? Face isn't given by others; it's earned by one's own ability! Right now, I'm using my 'ability' and 'guts' to earn this face from you!"
Atapong hadn't expected Su Cha to use his own words against him, and he was so angry he nearly choked.
He stood up abruptly, his finger almost poking Su Cha's nose.
"It was just a few jokes! Are you really that petty to hold a grudge until now? Let me tell you, I'm your Older Male Cousin! I'm your elder! You better show me some f*cking respect!"
Elder?
Su Cha almost laughed out of anger when he heard that.
Atapong was worthy?
Where did he get the nerve to say such things!
Looking at Atapong, he said coldly.
"You think you're worthy of mentioning 'elders'? My dad is also your elder! He's your own biological uncle! Did you treat him like an elder today? What did you do when you were making toasts? When you called our whole family useless losers, did you think about him being your elder?"
"Huh?"
Atapong instantly fell silent.
Su Cha roared, "Answer me!"
Su Cha thought Atapong would feel some shame, but unexpectedly, Atapong was even angrier than he was.
Pointing at his head, he said.
"So what!"
"Your dad has no ability, so he deserves it!"
"Try saying one more word about my dad!!!" Su Cha flew into a rage instantly, his eyes bloodshot, as he prepared to lung forward and strike!
"Stop!" Wenchalong rushed out again, holding his son tightly. "Don't fight, I beg you, don't fight!"
Seeing this cowardly uncle meddling again, Atapong sneered disdainfully, sat back down, and crossed his legs.
"Su Cha, if I lose an audi, it's like a drop in the bucket, it doesn't matter. But if you lose, the car is gone, the three golds are gone—how will you live your life then? Huh? Hahaha!"
He laughed arrogantly.
Held back by his father, Su Cha struggled and glared at Atapong. "I don't need your concern! I'm putting it out there today! If you don't apologize to my dad and return the money you won from the relatives, I'll play this out with you to the end today! To the death!"
"To the end?" Atapong acted as if he had heard something amusing. "Fine! I'd like to see how many cents you have to play with me until the end! You just wait!"
After saying that, he actually stood up and walked toward his audi outside the courtyard!
His wife, Nala, got anxious and pulled him back. "Atapong! Has it gone to your head? Don't be reckless!"
"Stay out of it!" Atapong was in a fit of rage and shoved his wife aside. "Doesn't he want to be the one to stick his neck out? I'm going to teach him a lesson today! I'll show him how high the sky is and how deep the earth is!"
After finishing his sentence, he left the courtyard without looking back.
Seeing Atapong going to get money, Su Qing's father, Wenchalong, was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. He chased after him, shouting, "Atapong! Atapong! Don't get any more! Consider it your uncle begging you!"
But Atapong ignored him completely.
Wenchalong was both anxious and fearful. He looked at his second younger brother, Songphong, hoping he would intervene.
Songphong gave his elder brother and nephew a cold look, snorted, and simply turned his head away to continue playing mahjong, acting as if it had nothing to do with him.
Soon, Atapong returned carrying a black briefcase, his face grim and his eyes fierce.
With a "thud," he slammed the case onto the gaming table and opened it; inside were stacks of neatly arranged bills!
"Younger Cousin Brother, didn't you love to play? Today, I'll play with you to your heart's content!" As he spoke, he grabbed both sides of the case with his hands and flipped it over!
"Rustle-clatter—"
Bundles of cash scattered out, piling up on nearly half the table!
The sea of red bills was a massive visual shock to everyone!
The courtyard fell silent instantly; everyone was stunned!
So much cash!
Su Qing's second uncle, Songphong, couldn't sit still either.
"Atapong! You're crazy! This is the payment for goods needed for your factory!"
Atapong ignored his father. He looked down arrogantly at the pale-faced Su Cha, tapping the pile of money on the table with his finger.
"See this? There's five hundred thousand here! If you've got the guts, keep following!"
Looking at the mountain of five hundred thousand in cash on the table, it was as if a mute button had been pressed in the courtyard; everyone was dumbfounded.
Immediately following that, a wave of buzzing discussions rose like a tide, impossible to suppress.
"My god! This... this is truly the behavior of a nouveau riche!"
"Five hundred thousand! A full five hundred thousand in cash! I've never seen so much money piled together in my life!"
"Atapong is being too ruthless, isn't he? Is it really necessary to do this to his own cousin?"
"I finally see it now! Atapong had bad intentions from the start! All that talk about no upper limit—he was waiting for Su Cha right here!"
"Exactly! He deliberately didn't look at his cards to raise the stakes, then suddenly bet his car just to force Su Cha to follow. Once Su Cha followed, he brought out even more money. If Su Cha can't match it, the car and three golds he bet earlier will all be lost! This calculation is truly deep!"
"That's right! This is a trap! Su Cha fell for it!"
"Oh no, what should we do? Today is Su Cha's big day. If he really loses the wedding three golds and the car, how will he live? Won't the new bride throw a fit?"
"Tell me about it! They might get married today and divorced tomorrow! That would be a huge joke!"
Hearing the discussions around him, Atapong wasn't annoyed; instead, he felt even more smug.
