364: Finished

The pain reminded him of how Lei Jun had just slapped him over a dozen times in public, knocking his teeth out, and his hatred surged once more, even stronger than before!

When had he, Wang Jinbiao, ever suffered such a great humiliation?

He thought venomously: Once the police arrive and take this bitch Lei Jun back to the station, he would definitely have a good "talk" with his brother-in-law!

Not only would he sue her for intentional injury causing minor harm, but he would also sue her for picking quarrels and provoking trouble, and for setting her dog on people!

It would be best if she were sentenced to a few years! And that damn Local Dog must be shot immediately, right now! No, it should die a more painful death! Only then would his hatred be appeased!

He couldn't wait to see Lei Jun's expression of fear and begging for mercy.

However, a scene that made his lungs explode with rage appeared.

Lei Jun's expression was very composed, one might even say... calm.

She even had the leisure to look toward the entrance of the residential complex, as if she were waiting for the person she had called.

This calmness, this disregard, made Wang Jinbiao feel both furious and frustrated!

"Good! Good! Good!"

"Truly refusing to shed a tear until you see the coffin! Ignorance is bliss! You think you can turn the world upside down just by calling someone? Once my brother-in-law's people arrive, let's see how calm you can be!"

He waited with gritted teeth, every second feeling incredibly long... Soon, the sound of sirens came from the distance.

Two police cars with flashing red and blue lights drove up quickly and stopped by the roadside.

Four or five Police Officers in uniform got out of the cars and walked over quickly.

Leading them was a serious-looking officer in his thirties.

When Wang Jinbiao saw him, his eyes immediately lit up as if he had seen his savior.

Ignoring the pain in his face, he struggled to limp forward to meet them, supported by his subordinates.

He first gave Lei Jun a vicious glare, as if saying "you're finished," then leaned close to the leading officer and lowered his voice.

"Officer! You're finally here! I'm Wang Jinbiao, and my brother-in-law is Deputy Director Zhao of the Municipal Bureau! He's the Director Zhao in charge of this area! Look at how I've been beaten! And look at my friends!

We were all beaten by that woman and the mad dog she keeps! You must get justice for us! This is simply lawless!"

As he spoke, he deliberately showed off his face, which was swollen like a pig's head and covered in blood, and pointed to the group of thugs behind him who, though standing, were all injured.

When the leading officer heard the name "Deputy Director Zhao," his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. He sized up Wang Jinbiao; although his face was badly swollen, he could vaguely recognize him as Deputy Director Zhao's worthless brother-in-law.

He then looked at the miserable state of the group behind Wang Jinbiao, and at Lei Jun standing calmly not far away with that little yellow dog at her feet, and he had a rough idea of what had happened.

He figured Wang Jinbiao had caused trouble again and had kicked a steel plate this time, but the other party had indeed been heavy-handed.

Without much expression on his face, he simply nodded to Wang Jinbiao and also lowered his voice: "Understood. Don't get worked up yet. Tell me what happened. We will handle it according to the law."

These words sounded like official business, but the phrase "Understood" and the lack of immediate criticism for Wang Jinbiao's arrogant remarks were actually a subtle form of agreement and a hint that he would "make things easy."

Hearing this, Wang Jinbiao felt even more confident. A smug expression appeared on his face as he nodded repeatedly: "Good, good, good! Officer, you are truly discerning! You must punish the culprit severely!"

He took a step back to stand with his subordinates, looking at Lei Jun with a provocative and smug gaze, as if saying: See that? Even the police are on my side! Where's the person you called? Why aren't they here yet? It won't matter even if they come!

When the onlookers saw the police arrive and speak quietly with Wang Jinbiao, although they couldn't hear the specifics, their hearts sank at Wang Jinbiao's smug look and the officer's slightly softened attitude.

It seemed Wang Jinbiao's brother-in-law's identity really was working!

Lei Jun was in danger!

"Sigh, the police really do seem to know Wang Jinbiao..."

"It's over, Lei Jun is going to be taken away now..."

"Wang Jinbiao will definitely twist the facts!"

"That dog probably won't be saved either..."

"Why hasn't the person Lei Jun called arrived yet? Will it even matter if they do?"

Everyone was worried for Lei Jun, watching the scene nervously.

After the leading officer calmed Wang Jinbiao down, he led two other policemen toward Lei Jun.

His expression returned to a businesslike seriousness. His gaze swept over Lei Jun and A'fu as he asked in a deep voice, "Are you the party involved? Was there a fight here just now? Did you injure these people? And did this dog participate as well?"

His questioning sounded like he was verifying the situation, but it carried a faint, preconceived bias, as if he had already determined Lei Jun was the aggressor.

Wang Jinbiao and the thugs watched from behind, their faces showing malicious and cruel smiles, waiting to see Lei Jun questioned by the police and then taken away in handcuffs.

Just then, a cold, calm, yet indisputably piercing female voice came from the periphery of the crowd.

"Wait."

The voice wasn't loud, but it strangely silenced everyone. Even the officer who was about to continue his questioning stopped and looked toward the source of the sound.

The crowd automatically parted to form a path, and a figure walked in quickly.

It was Lei Ying.

Lei Ying walked quickly to Lei Jun's side and first gave her a slight nod.

"Miss Lei Jun, I'm here."

Only then did she turn around to face the Police Officers, especially the one in charge.

Wang Jinbiao frowned; this woman looked like someone who shouldn't be trifled with.

Hmph, so what if she looks tough?

What is she worth in front of a deputy director?

The leading officer also sized up Lei Ying, feeling that she had an extraordinary aura, but since he couldn't immediately tell her background, he asked officially, "Who are you? What is your relationship with the party involved? We are currently investigating a case according to the law; please do not obstruct official business."

Lei Ying did not answer immediately. She first took out a deep blue, leather credential case with a national emblem design from the black briefcase she was carrying.

Her movements were deliberate and steady, carrying an indescribable sense of gravity and power.

She opened the credentials and displayed the page with her photo, personal information, the embossed national emblem, and clear text before the leading officer.

"National Special Service Bureau, Special Service Consultant, Lei Ying. Number 749-XXXXX."

"Firearm Permit Number: QZ-XXXXX. I am responsible for coordinating and handling Miss Lei Jun's safety and related affairs."

Her voice clearly reached the ears of the surrounding Police Officers, as well as Wang Jinbiao and the few onlookers standing close by.

"National Special Service Bureau? Special Service Consultant?"

The leading officer subconsciously repeated the words, and his expression changed instantly!!!
