336: Survivor

Su Han and Bi Yao’s eyes were locked on the direction where the Demon Shadow vanished, as if they still couldn't believe this heart-stopping fierce battle had finally ended.

Their nerves, taut as bowstrings, finally relaxed slowly at this moment, and the two of them collapsed onto the ground, utterly exhausted, as if all their strength had been drained away.

Su Han quickly turned to look at Bi Yao beside him, seeing her hair messy and tangled like flax, scattered loosely around her cheeks.

The glaring bloodstain at the corner of her mouth had not yet dried, yet, even in such a state of disarray, it couldn't conceal the look of relief on her face after surviving the ordeal.

Su Han's heart clenched suddenly, and he raised his hand, his movement as gentle as if touching the most delicate petals in the world.

Slowly wiping away the bloodstain from her mouth, his voice, hoarse with fatigue and tension, was full of tenderness:

"Bi Yao, are you alright? Can you hold on?"

Bi Yao shook her head gently, forcing out a weak but reassuring smile, and said softly, "I'm fine, really.

That I could survive this time is all thanks to you staying by my side."

After speaking, her gaze met Su Han's, her eyes sparkling with a different light, like the steadfastness and reliance that comes after experiencing life and death.

After resting for a while, Su Han, forcing himself despite his exhaustion, slowly stood up and reached out a hand, carefully helping Bi Yao to her feet.

Leaning on each other, their steps slow and heavy, they slowly left this ruin, devastated and scarred by the ravages of war.

The ground beneath their feet had long become pitted and uneven, everywhere bearing the brutal marks left by the battle.

Broken stones were scattered haphazardly, some still showing scorched marks from being hit by spells;

The smell of burnt vegetation filled the air, as if silently recounting the cruelty of the fierce battle that had just taken place.

Su Han's brow furrowed slightly, his eyes full of vigilance; he tightly shielded Bi Yao, taking every step with extreme caution, afraid she might trip over the debris on the path.

Along the way, the two of them remained in a tacit silence, only their bodies pressed closely together, as if drawing strength from each other and savoring this hard-won peace.

After leaving the ruins, a tranquil mountain valley appeared before them.

In the mountain valley, a stream flowed gently, its clear water sparkling under the sunlight, shimmering like countless tiny diamonds dancing.

Beside the stream was a flat grassy area, the green grass lush and soft, like a natural carpet laid out by nature.

Su Han helped Bi Yao, and they slowly sat down on the grass.

Bi Yao sighed softly, leaned back on the grass, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the moment of tranquility.

Su Han then turned and walked towards the stream; he squatted down, slowly immersing his hands in the water, the cool stream instantly dispelling the heat in his palms.

He cupped his hands, scooped up some water, and vigorously splashed it onto his face, washing away the dust and exhaustion, and also trying to wash away the lingering fear and tension in his heart.

Afterward, he fetched some water back, went to Bi Yao's side, and squatted down, his movements as gentle as if she were the most precious treasure in the world.

He used a wet cloth to gently wipe Bi Yao's wounds, each touch careful and cautious, afraid of hurting her.

Bi Yao looked at Su Han's focused expression, her heart full of sweetness, her cheeks unconsciously flushing slightly.

She reached out and gently held Su Han's hand, saying, "Su Han, you're exhausted too, don't just worry about me, rest yourself for a bit."

Su Han raised his head, looked at Bi Yao, and said with a smile, "I'm not tired, as long as you're alright."

After tidying up, Su Han patted the dust off his clothes, stood up, and began searching the surroundings for Materials to build a temporary shelter.

He walked into the nearby woods, his gaze carefully searching through the trees.
