622: Lu Xueqi and Biyao (5)

"I'm here." Su Han immediately leaned over and held her hand. "How do you feel? Elder Mu just came by and said you're recovering well." He told her about the hundred herbs vein nourishing pill.

Bi Yao nodded gently, her gaze turning to Miss Lu at the side, revealing a shallow, sincere smile. "Miss Lu, thank you."

Lu Xueqi remained as cold as ever, only nodding slightly. "It's time for you to take your medicine," she reminded her, her tone flat, yet it was a subtle form of concern.

Su Han hurriedly took out the Medicinal Pill, carefully dissolved half a pill, helped Bi Yao up, and fed her bit by bit. His movements were gentle and careful, for fear of choking her.

Bi Yao finished drinking cooperatively, but her gaze involuntarily drifted toward Lu Xueqi. She saw the White-Clothed Woman standing quietly a few steps away, watching Su Han's cautious movements. There was no expression on her face, but her hand holding the tianya sword seemed to tighten its knuckles for a moment before slowly relaxing.

After feeding the medicine, Su Han helped Bi Yao lie back down. Bi Yao's spirits seemed a bit better. She looked at Su Han, then at Lu Xueqi, and suddenly asked softly, "Have I been asleep for a long time? What... time is it outside?"Check

Su Han glanced at the hazy light outside the hall and shook his head. "Inside the tower, there is no distinction between day and night, but based on the time, it should be the afternoon of the second day. You were unconscious for nearly a day and a night."

"So long..." Bi Yao murmured, then as if remembering something, she looked at Lu Xueqi. "Miss Lu, aren't you... going back to Qingyun Mountain to report?" She remembered Su Han saying that Lu Xueqi was only meditating for a day.

Lu Xueqi was silent for a moment before saying, "There's no rush. Your injuries are not yet stable, and this place..." She paused and did not continue, but the meaning was obvious. Bi Yao had a special identity. If she left, relying only on Su Han and the Town Yue Tower might not be secure. Her staying here was for the sake of Bi Yao's injuries, and perhaps... there were other considerations.

Bi Yao was so clever that she immediately understood Lu Xueqi's unspoken meaning, and a complex warmth surged in her heart. This proud daughter of the Qingyun Sect had repeatedly made exceptions, hesitated, and even risked being blamed by her sect for her, a "Demonic Cult Enchantress."

"Miss Lu," Bi Yao looked at her with clear eyes, "I will keep your kindness in my heart. But my identity is special. You have already delayed your return to the mountain to report because of me. If you stay any longer because of me, I'm afraid it will cause gossip, which won't be good for you." She paused, her tone serious. "My injuries have stabilized. With Su Han here, Elder Mu looking after me, and Senior... Senior Shi presiding here, nothing will happen. You... should still go back as soon as possible."

She spoke earnestly, both for Lu Xueqi's sake and because she didn't want to owe any more favors, let alone put Lu Xueqi in a dilemma because of herself.

Lu Xueqi looked at Bi Yao's sincere eyes, and that trace of complex emotion surged again. This woman had clear likes and dislikes, and clearly distinguished between favors and grudges. Saving her was out of her own heart, not seeking reward. Advising her to leave now was also out of sincerity, not wanting to implicate her.

"I know what I'm doing." Lu Xueqi eventually just said this faintly and spoke no more. But her attitude already showed that she would not leave for the time being.

Seeing this, Bi Yao stopped trying to persuade her. Some things were best left at that. She looked back at Su Han and asked softly, "Su Han, how is... your injury?"

Su Han smiled and reassured her, "I'm fine, just my True Essence consumption was a bit high. A few days of meditation will do. As for you, you must obediently listen to Elder Mu, rest well, and you're not allowed to let your thoughts wander, let alone move around."

His tone carried a natural concern and a hint of an unquestionable "command," causing a very faint blush to rise on Bi Yao's pale face. She softly gave an "En" and closed her eyes, but the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.

The hall fell silent again, with only the soft light of the spiritual lamps falling quietly, reflecting the figures of the three people.

Su Han sat down by the bed and silently circulated his power to meditate, while also setting aside a wisp of his mind to pay attention to Bi Yao's condition.

Lu Xueqi walked to the side of the hall by the window. There was a small stone window there, through which one could see the blurred scene outside the tower and the outlines of the continuous mountains in the distance.

She stood quietly, her posture as straight as a pine, her white clothes as white as snow, as if she were integrated with this quiet and ancient hall, yet also as if she could fly away with the wind at any time, turning into a cold cloud on the horizon.

Time flowed slowly in this silence. Not sure how long had passed—perhaps half an hour, perhaps longer.

"Su Han," Bi Yao suddenly opened her eyes again. Although her voice was still weak, her spirit seemed a bit better than before. "I have some words... I want to speak with Miss Lu alone, is that okay?"

Su Han was startled upon hearing this. He looked at Bi Yao, then turned to look at Lu Xueqi by the window.

Lu Xueqi also turned around, her cold gaze falling on Bi Yao, seemingly also a bit surprised.

"This..." Su Han was a bit hesitant, worried that Bi Yao would exhaust her spirit.

"Don't worry, it's just a few words, it won't be a problem." Bi Yao smiled slightly at him, her gaze persistent.

Seeing her serious expression, which didn't seem like a joke, and thinking that with him nearby, the two wouldn't be able to use True Qi, he nodded. "Alright, I'll be guarding outside the hall. Call me immediately if anything happens."

He stood up, nodded to Lu Xueqi, then walked out of the hall and gently closed the heavy stone door.

The stone door isolated the inside from the outside. Only the two women remained in the hall, one lying and one standing, one weak and one cold. The atmosphere seemed to become even more subtle and quiet.

"Miss Lu," Bi Yao spoke first, her gaze calmly looking at Lu Xueqi. "Please come and sit. It's a bit difficult for me to look up at you like this."

Lu Xueqi did as requested and sat on a stone stool not far from the bed, a few steps away from Bi Yao.

"What do you want to say?" Lu Xueqi's voice still had no ups and downs.

Bi Yao didn't answer immediately, but just looked at Lu Xueqi quietly for a moment. Her gaze was clear and focused, as if she wanted to see something through the other's cold exterior.

"Miss Lu," Bi Yao spoke slowly, her tone more serious and sincere than ever before. "I know that my existence is a trouble, an... embarrassment, to you, to Su Han, and even to the Qingyun Sect."

Lu Xueqi's eyes narrowed slightly, but she did not interrupt.

"I am the daughter of the Ghost King Sect's Sect Master, and I grew up in what you call the Demonic Cult. Qingyun and the Ghost King Sect, the Righteous Path and the Demonic are irreconcilable; this is known to everyone in the world." Bi Yao's voice was very soft, but every word was clear. "My meeting with him... Su Han, was purely an accident. Our mutual understanding and affection even more so go against the norms of this world and are not tolerated by both the Righteous and Demonic paths."

"I have never regretted knowing him or falling in love with him." A gentle and firm light appeared in Bi Yao's eyes. "But I also know how much hardship, danger, and even gossip this has brought him. This trip to the East Sea almost led him... and you, into a place of eternal damnation."

Lu Xueqi listened in silence, her fingers holding the hilt of the tianya sword unconsciously and gently stroking the cold patterns of the scabbard.

"Miss Lu, whether you saved me out of righteousness or something else, I, Bi Yao, will not forget this kindness in this life." Bi Yao continued, her tone sincere. "But because of this, I am even more unwilling to become your burden, to become a... thorn between you and your sect, and the righteousness in your heart."

"You are advising me to leave because you're afraid of implicating me?" Lu Xueqi finally spoke, her voice as clear as a spring.

"Yes." Bi Yao admitted frankly. "You didn't have to be involved in this. If you return to Qingyun Mountain, you will still be the admired Genius Disciple of Xiao Zhu Peak and the future Chief. But if you continue to be entangled with me, this Demonic Cult Enchantress, how will your sect see you? How will the world's Righteous Path gossip about you? And how will the Dao Heart you uphold deal with itself?"

Bi Yao's questions were sharp and direct, pointing straight at the contradictions and confusion that might exist deep in Lu Xueqi's heart.

Lu Xueqi fell silent again.(End of Chapter)
