376: Half-human, half-beast monster

The red light of the rune array pulsed like a living thing on the ground, and Su Han's shadow was twisted into a strange shape.

Bi Yao suddenly grabbed his arm, "Su Han, look at those runes..."

Her hand pointed to the ground; the seemingly static runes had begun to slowly writhe, like some ancient script rearranging itself.

Su Han's pupils contracted sharply. He realized this was not a regular rune array, but more like a living sealing device.

As the red light grew brighter, the air around the altar began to vibrate violently, and the suspended eerie blue flames emitted a sharp buzzing sound.

The distorted figures in the flames struggled even more fiercely, as if they were about to break free from their restraints.

Just then, a denser roar came from outside the waterfall, completely different from the previous Monster cries. This sound carried a certain pressure, as if it were the call of the Monster leader.

Su Han and Bi Yao exchanged glances; they knew the real crisis had just begun.

Suddenly, the ground shook violently, and countless small stones fell from the cave ceiling.

Su Han immediately shielded Bi Yao with his body. After the shaking subsided slightly, they discovered that more runes were slowly appearing on the walls around the altar.

These runes echoed the ones on the ground, forming a massive, three-dimensional sealing network.

And at the center of the sealing network, the eerie blue flames were frantically absorbing the surrounding energy, their color gradually changing from eerie blue to dark red.

"Not good, they're about to break the Seal!"

Su Han shouted, gripping his dagger, ready to face any danger that might appear at any moment.

Bi Yao trembled as she took a makeshift torch from her backpack, lit it, and held it in front of her. The weak torchlight flickered in the darkness but could not dispel the chill around them.

With a deafening crash, the bones at the top of the altar began to collapse, and crystal fragments scattered like rain.

Within the eerie blue flames, a blurred figure slowly emerged. It was a half-human, half-beast Monster.

Its body was covered in scales, its limbs were like octopus tentacles, but its head retained a human face, although that face was twisted and deformed, filled with pain and hatred.

The Monster let out a roar that echoed through the cave. The red light of the surrounding rune array surged, forcing Su Han and Bi Yao to shut their eyes against the blinding light.

When they opened their eyes again, they found that the Monster had vanished from the altar, and from various corners of the cave, more Monsters of different shapes began to emerge.

Some of these Monsters had bat wings, some were covered in sharp spikes, and others dragged long tails with an eerie blue poisonous glow at the tip.

Su Han quickly pulled Bi Yao back. They pressed their backs against the cave wall, warily observing the movements around them.

The Monsters did not attack immediately but formed a circle, trapping them in the middle, seemingly waiting for some command.

Just then, a slow, heavy footsteps echoed from deep within the cave. Each step felt like a hammer blow to Su Han and Bi Yao's hearts.

A massive figure walked out of the darkness. It was a being much taller than all the previous Monsters.

Its body was covered in a thick layer of carapace, which was covered in patterns resembling runes. A pair of huge eyes emitted a blood-red light, like two massive lanterns.

"That is..."

Bi Yao said in terror, her voice filled with despair.

Su Han gripped his dagger. He knew that to escape from here, they had to defeat this Monster.

But facing such a powerful enemy, did they really have a chance?

The Monster walked to the front of the Monster crowd, looking down at Su Han and Bi Yao, and let out a low growl from its mouth.
