405: Endless black flames

The ice pillar directly pierced through the Monster's body, and the Monster let out a final roar before collapsing.

Its massive body crashed into the dark river, splashing up huge amounts of water.

The surface of the dark river gradually calmed, and Su Han and the others collapsed to the ground, exhausted.

They had succeeded, but they knew this was just the beginning; they still had a more important mission to complete…

That was to find the core of Erosion Abyss, completely eliminate Erosion Abyss, and resolve the crisis.

At this moment, many changes had also occurred in their bodies.

At the same time, they looked at the still-smoking Monster remains, panting heavily, their hearts filled with mixed emotions.

Su Han looked at Bi Yao and asked:

"How do you feel?

Has the Soul-Devouring Curse gotten any better?"

Bi Yao shook her head with a bitter smile and said, "It's still the same, but it hasn't flared up for now.

However, I also feel that my strength seems to have improved, which might be due to using the power of the jade plate just now, but there must be huge risks hidden behind this improvement."

The Grave Keeper sat to the side, eyes closed, adjusting her breathing.

Her face was pale, clearly indicating that she had consumed too much Spirit Energy by exerting her power just now.

After a while, the Grave Keeper opened her eyes and said:

"We must leave here as soon as possible; there might be other unknown dangers in this dark river, and we don't know where Erosion Abyss is right now."

Su Han nodded, stood up, and helped Bi Yao to her feet.

They walked along the riverbank, searching for a way out.

Suddenly, Su Han felt his Spirit Energy become somewhat chaotic; he frowned, realizing it was due to the influence of the dark river's water during his previous battle with the Monster.

He quickly circulated his Spirit Energy, trying to adjust it back.

Bi Yao saw Su Han's condition and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

Su Han shook his head and said, "I'm fine, just a bit of chaotic Spirit Energy; it'll be fine after I adjust it."

As they continued forward, they heard a strange sound.

The sound seemed to come from underground, yet also from the distant sky.

Su Han and the others stopped cautiously, looking around.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and a powerful force surged from underground.

Su Han shouted, "Not good, everyone be careful!"

They hurriedly dodged, only to see a huge crack appear on the ground, from which a black flame erupted.

This flame was extremely hot, melting rocks instantly wherever it touched.

Su Han and the others were surrounded by the flames, and the situation was extremely critical.

The Grave Keeper looked at the black flame, her brows tightly furrowed, and said:

"I've never seen this flame before; it doesn't seem to be an ordinary flame, but rather possesses some strange demonic power."

Su Han dodged the flames while contemplating a countermeasure.

He suddenly thought that ice and fire were opposing elements; perhaps he could use the Cold Jade Art to fight against this black flame.

He unleashed the Cold Jade Art, and streaks of cold Sword Qi shot towards the black flame.

The black flame actually recoiled slightly upon encountering the Cold Jade Art's Sword Qi, but it quickly surged back with even greater power.

Su Han realized that relying solely on the Cold Jade Art might not be enough to completely extinguish this black flame.

He looked at the Grave Keeper and Bi Yao and said, "This flame is too powerful; we need to figure out a way together."

Bi Yao suddenly said, "Will my jade plate have any effect on this flame?"

Su Han's eyes lit up, and he said, "Possibly, give it a try."

Bi Yao held the jade plate, concentrating, trying to awaken its power.

However, the jade plate did not react as quickly as before.

Bi Yao was filled with anxiety, but she forced herself to calm down.

She closed her eyes, recalling the way the jade plate's power had flowed before, constantly adjusting her Spirit Energy output.

Finally, a faint glow began to flicker on the jade plate, and this glow seemed to resonate with the black flame. (End of Chapter)
